This study is focused on overdose of vitamin E. In particular,we examined its influence on pregnancy using a laboratory animal. It showed no change of hemoglobin level and triglyceride level in blood by the difference of vitamin E dose. However,it showed that antioxygenation of the vitamin E was shown because the fall of TBARS value in the brain that was taken have much vitamin E intakes. The cause was not clear,the vitamin E intake of inappropriate quantity may cause pregnancy abnormality. Because, pregnancy abnormal ratios increased that growth insufficiency of the fetus was observed low group and high group in vitamin E. It suggested that the surplus intake of the vitamin E have possibilities to cause bad influence to pregnancy.

Effects of green tea catechins on thrombin activity were investigated. The major part of catechins in green tea are epicatechin (EC), epigallocatechin (EGC), epicatechin gallate (ECg) and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCg). ECg and EGCg except others were found to be more potent inhibitors for thrombin by mode of noncompetitive inhibition. These 50% inhibition of thrombin amidolysis by ECg and EGCg were 1.2×10-6M and 1.1×10-6M, and fibrin formation were 2.5×10-5M and 8.8×10-6M.These facts suggested that thrombosis may be prevented by ECg and EGCg in green tea.

The mice were dosed with several sugars (glucose, maltose, starch, sucrose, lactose) by ingestion after fast for 24 hours, and the changes of blood sugar level, glycogen concentration in the liver and muscle were examined according to time-schedule. The level of glycogen in muscle by the fast for 24 hours was consumed more than the ones of blood-sugar and liver-glycogen. The level of blood sugar was recovered immediately after dose of sugars by ingestion, and the synthesis of liver-glycogen and muscle-glycogen were followed. The synthesis of muscle-glycogen after recovery of blood sugar by glycogen-dose was more remarkable than others.

Catechins of green tea were investigated an effect on carrageenan-induced inflammatory edema. The major part of catechins in green tea are epicatechin(EC), epigallocatechin(EGC), epicatechin gallate(ECg) and epigallocatechin gallate(EGCg). It was found previously that ester type of those catechins had significant inhibitory action for thrombin on blood coagulation. In this study, EGCg in catechins of green tea inhibited markedly plasma kallikrein(p-KL), but EGC did slightly. Both EGCg and EGC scarcely inhibited glandular kallikrein(g-KL). EGCg indicated an inhibitory effect on carrageenan-induced inflammatory edema in foot in mice, but not recognized EGC.
