This essay focuses on fashion design for agriculture development in Japan. Specially, I talk about a case study of the Fashion Show `Agriculture Style Collection 2013 in Nagato-Yuya with Aizu-Wakamatsu'. This project was motivated by our First Lady, Ms Akie ABE, who has been working in agriculture since 2001. I have already researched and created rural fashion incited from the daily wear of farmers. In this paper my co-researchers and I discussed about the planning of new developed Mompe pants, called Mompekko, and Haolina whieh is a shirt like the upper half of Samue(Japanese working wear), and newly developed hats and Saruppakama pants originating from Aizu-Wakamatsu-city. In this theme, we collaborated with traditional textiles, specializing in both striped clothes of Yamaguchi Prefecture(Yanai-jima)and Aizu-Wakamatsu-city(Aizu-momen). Additionally, I use the Kuga-tijimi, which Kuga people had asked me to develop into a proper design with them.

<b>目的 </b>ビジネス・シーンにおいて着用することを前提としたマタニティウエアを開発することを目的とする。 <br> <b>方法 </b>マタニティウエアについての現状リサーチをもとに検討を行い、体型が大きく変化する妊娠中期から後期にビジネス・シーンにおいて着用することができるパンツ・スーツについてプロトタイプを制作した。制作用のボディは、妊娠6ヶ月のサイズで作られたものを選定し、シーチングと詰め物を使用して制作したベストを着用させることで妊娠後期の体型に対応した。ジャケットは、胸ポケットを左右につけることで、視線を上部に集め、ダブルの打ち合いと前端の斜めのラインによって、腹部のふくらみが目立たない工夫をした。パンツは、体型変化に対応するためにウエストサイズの調節が必須であること、着脱のしやすさを考慮して、後ろウエストにゴムを入れ、前部は面ファスナーを使用している。シーチングによる試作を繰り返した後に、細かなストライプの入ったダークグレーの布地を用いてプロトタイプを制作し、インタビュー形式によるモニタリングにより、インターネット・ショップにおける販売を前提とした商品化に向けての検討を行った。 <br> <b>結果 </b>マタニティウエアは限られた期間のみの着用であるため、着用者側には価格帯や産後も着用できるかなどを意識する傾向がある。今後はよりユニバーサルな視野から開発を進めることで商品化への糸口を探る必要がある。

This thesis is focused on the activities of the second year of `aurinko tokuji talo', a project for the activation of Intermediate and Mountainous Areas in Tokuji, Yamaguchi City. As a consequence of the first year's achievements in creatingclothing design and the planning of arts managements, our research team continued developing the cooperative projects withlocal representatives in Tokuji. By inviting Tokuji people to the previous year's fashion show at Yamaguchi Prefectural University, we were requested toorganize a local fashion show at Tokuji's summer festival. It has been well-known for its dynamic fi reworks; however, this year locals decided to deliver an alternative event by adding a traditional dance festival of the area. In order to celebrate it, ourresearch team planned an outdoor fashion show utilizing the local resources of handmade Japanese paper and used Kimonomaterials. Here we describe the process of creation such as a hat, corsage, shawl, obi belt and knitting dress and pants madewith Tokuji handmade paper as well as kimono costumes for the dance festival. In addition to the fashion show, we analyze the Christmas Exhibition, which was carried out as an extention of the 'aurinko Tokuji talo' Project, at Christmas Village in Rovaniemi, Finland. We examine the entire procedures of the project.
