This report is to establish a foundation study of affirmative use of semi-outdoor space to solve some contemporary social agendas related to aging-society and energy consumptive life. Through the fieldwork of the practical examples in Asia three countries, first year's research obtained 3 categories and 8 remarkable Asian methods of the semi-open space.

図1は本特集で取り上げた100人の出身大学(最終学歴)を示したものだ。東京大学が21人で最も多かったが、同大学は他大学からの大学院進学者が少なくない。2位の早稲田大学は建築学科の学生数が国立大学に比べて多い。
