高度成長文化研究会を定期的に開催し各自の成果を共有した。7月9日には、研究代表者・成田龍一と研究分担者・坪井秀人が、1960年前後の世相と社会運動をめぐって問題提起をした。また、2018年3月23日に『思想』「<世界史>をいかに語るか」(同年3月号)をとりあげ合評会をおこなった(WINCとの共催)。こうした研究活動の成果は、アメリカの研究者との研究集会によって還元した。6月9日~12日まで、UCLAでの国際ワークショップ「トランスパシフィック ワークショップ」に、成田、研究分担者・渡辺直紀、同・高榮蘭、岩崎稔、鳥羽耕史、坪井が参加、報告した。また、成田と岩崎、坪井は8月30日~9月3日まで、EAJS(ヨーロッパ日本学会)リスボン大会に参加し、報告し議論した。また、9月21日~23日、韓国・ソウルに国際シンポジウムに参加、成田、渡辺、坪井、岩崎、高、および、研究分担者・島村輝、同・竹内栄美子が報告した。10月25日~28日まで、アメリカ合衆国でおこなわれた国際シンポジウムに、成田と岩崎が参加し報告・討議をおこなった。2018年3月2日~4日には、国際日本文化研究センターが主宰する国際シンポジウム「戦後文化再考」で成田が報告したほか、島村、高、研究分担者・戸邉秀明が参加した。そのほか、成田は、琉球大学で開かれた戦争社会学会 4月22-24日)で報告したほか、日本社会文学会(10月4日、5日)で、井上ひさしについて報告をおこない、成果を還元した。12月17日には、シンポジウム「ジェンダー史が拓く歴史教育」(奈良女子大学)で報告した。また、各自が出版活動をおこない、随時、成果を公表している。高度成長の思想史を考察し、歴史学、文学史の領域で成果を着実に公表している。文献史料とあわせ、本研究では重要な核となる大衆文化にかかわる資料も、DVDをはじめ順調に収集され前進している。

The amplitude functions measured by wave analysis experiment for a ship model are expanded in Mathieu function series in order to obtain the informations of improving the hull form. The expansion gives sectional area curve of the model as assumed as a source generating the measured wave system in linear wave-making theory. The expansion coefficients correspond with the coefficients of Mathieu expansion of the assumed sectional area curve and give the strengths of wave pattern resistance components. In order to reduce the total wave resistance the sectional area curve components corresponding with the dominant wave resistance components is to be subtracted.The amplitude functions measured for three ship models are expanded in Mathieu function series and their wave resistance components are compared with each other at various Froude numbers. The direction of improving hull form obtained by the present method corresponds with the design philosophy of the three ship forms.

The perturbed complex potentials representing flows around a vertical plate semi-submerged in a uniform stream are derived in analytical forms by the reduction method. They are composed from the regular solution and the weak singular eigen solutions. The linear combinations of them represent some flows such as regular flow, zero-vertical flux flow, flow satisfying Kutta condition and wave-free flow. The wave resistances of the flows are also obtaied in analytical forms. The analytical solution obtained by Bessho-Mizuno(1962) has a possibility that it dose not satisfy the boundary condition on the plate.
