In recent years, many researches of the biped robot for living side-by-side with people are reported. However, although many researches on a walking situation are reported, there is little research on the running situation. Therefore, we optimize the foot orbit of a biped robot using APGA (Adaptive Plan system with Genetic Algorithm). This optimization problem is tried by maximization of a reaching distance in the limit time, and its result is reported.

We report the result of test that has given the acoustic excitation to the new guitar in the aging cell with using the Bach's cello suites. The sound quality effect of playing the guitar for five years is the same as one of the four weeks aging test with the high load. However, the too much aging gives the new guitar the adverse effects. In this time, we were able to have the good balance results with the light load aging. But there were few effects in the upper position sounds of the guitar. The sound range of the cello is not enough to the acoustic excitation of high frequency zone. So, we will try soon the aging test with playing the violin pieces.

<p>We have studied the sound quality improvement of the classical guitar. The running-in of really playing on the guitar as well as the manufacturing process of guitar gives the large influence to the sound quality. It is called an aging effect. It is important that the behavior of the aging effect is considered on the manufacturing process. But the result of over-aging treatment causes, sometimes, the poor sound quality. The mechanism of over-aging is open here.</p>

College of Systems Engineering and Science, Shibaura Institute of Technology was founded in 1991. Each department in the college has delivered specific major education and shared common interdisciplinary education of systems engineering. The knowledge and skills in systems engineering including project management are necessary for engineers who solve technical as well as social and interdisciplinary problems. We define our interdisciplinary education by emphasizing systems approach with interdisciplinary communication and teamwork skill for solving real problems in society. The main part of interdisciplinary education consists of three lectures and three Project-Based Learning (PBL) for mixed students of five departments. In this paper, learning outcomes design, course design, execution, and assessment are described.

In this paper, Authors proposed a hybrid meta-heuristic method for the integer optimization of multi-peak problems to support the engineering field. For the search ability of the optimal process, the proposed method did not define a traditional combination, i.e., combining global search ability and local search ability, but newly defined the combination of multi search ability (MSA), local search ability (LSA) and neighborhood optimal search ability (NOSA). For NOSA, this proposed method introduced direct search process which self-changes design variables with reflecting recognition of dependence relation among design variables automatically. The proposed method was applied to some benchmark functions to estimate its performance, and was confirmed that it improved amount of computational cost and convergence up to the optimal solution.
