28kW級のマイクロガスタービン発電機を導入し、コージェネレーションパッケージの開発を進めてきた。中小工場では蒸気回収が有用であるが、マイクロガスタービンの排気温度は300C程度と低く蒸気発生には不向きである。このため排気再燃バーナを装備した小形貫流ボイラを開発した。ほぼ所定の蒸発量に見合う燃焼量とNOx値が得た。

Trajectory of two-seam and four-seam fast ball were examined experimentally. Each special fast ball was thrown by a baseball player and a pitching machine. They were also compared experimentally. Photograph were taken by a video camera behind the catcher player. Trajectories of their balls were calculated from the photographs. Two-seam fast ball swift occasionally right and left horizontally and sometimes went down vertically. The trajectory was similar to that of other change balls such as slider and curved ball. However, the motion of the pitcher was very similar to that of four-seam fast ball. It was suggested that a batter was difficult to find out fast ball and 2-seam swift ball at a glance of pitcher.

In this study, operating conditions of a rotating detonation engine with internal mixing has been studied. Hydrogen and oxygen are supplied separately from gas storage tanks and mixed in an annular combustion chamber. The mixture is initiated by a spark discharge placed at the chamber wall surface. As a result, a strong deflagration after ignition is initially generated in the combustion chamber. The experimental results show that the following stages are involved to achieve stable propagation of the rotating detonation : i) a deflagration wave moves to the downstream, ii) a DDT process occurs in the downstream, iii) a detonation wave propagates in the upstream direction, iv) a rotating detonation is stabilized in the combustion chamber.

Vibration suppression is very important to boost the performance of advanced mechatronics devices. It has been expected that technology of smart structure will contribute to the development of small and light-weight mechatronics devices with the required performance. The smart structure is composed of the piezoelectric sensor and actuator in order to reduce the structural vibration. The placement of the piezoelectric actuator and H_2 control system are simultaneously optimized based on genetic algorithm to improve the effect on the vibration suppression. It has been verified by applications with an L-shaped beam and a plate-type smart structures that an enhanced performance for the vibration suppression can be achieved by the proposed optimal design method.

The Engine department of the Gas-Den, predecessor of the Hino Motors, Ltd. Was reorganized as the Tokyo Automobile Industries Co. and the Hitachi Aeroplane Co. in 1937 and 1939 respectively. In 1937, the Gas-Den, begun the development work of an unusual titled engine. A realization of the Stratified charge engine was done by Mitsubishi and Toyota at about more than half century later in 1996, the Turbo compound engine was done by Wright Aeronautical Co. in 1952, and the sleeve valve engine was succeed only by the Bristol Aeroplane Co. (includes Napier Co. with same technology) in spite of almost all major aero engine manufacturers tried its development. Although the development project of Gas-Den was broken at last stage of the World War II due to urgent development work of the another high power engine, the concept and the will was great. This paper describes an out line of this unusual engine.

In this paper, polishing performance of ECP-C, which is a kind of ECMP(Electro-Chemical Mechanical Polishing), at Cu clear process is discribed. After Cu clear, it was found that erosion was below 10nm and Cu residue was not observed. However, it was also found that dishing was over 100nm and it significantly increased with over polish time. This increase is assumed of electrochemical ething due to low electrical insulation property of Cu complex formed in ECP-C. Therefore, it is considered that the improvement in electrical insulation property is necessary for applying ECP-C to Cu clear process.

The effect of music on driver's mental stress and driver's operation was researched with a simulator. Subjects were 3 healthy males. The heartbeat was measured for about 5 minutes without any stimulation, then for about three minutes simulated while listening to music with driving simulator, and finally, for a few times until observer was settling down. LF/HF and Reactive value, and Standard deviation of horizontal displacement, and Standard deviation of vehicle speed is used for the analysis (LF and HF denote the low frequency component and the high frequency component of the power spectra of heartbeat fluctuations, respectively). Under the speed of 60km/h music influence on driving is not so large. The influence is larger when vehicle speed becomes faster. It may be understood that subjects were similarly influenced by music when standard deviation of the fluctuation of vehicle speed is paid attention. As a result, a high relation between speed control and steering wheel control was read from the graph. It is revealed that the best music on driver's mental stress is usual tempo music.

Cells are exposed to several kinds of stimulation and some types of mechanical stimulations are known to affect the corresponding cell, but the transduction mechanism has long been a black box. Though there are results that second messengers, like Ca2+, are mechanosensitive, it is unclear which receptor reacts to mechanical stimulation. We used ATDC5, chondrocytes derived from mice, to survey the mechanosensitive receptors against hydrostatic pressure (HP). Fura2 AM was used for imaging the intracellular Ca2+ intensity. It was observed by EM-CCD camera (HAMAMATSU), under the HP ranged from 0 to 40MPa. We found that some cells under high ordered HP, raised their Ca2+ intensity slightly in the period of less than 3 minutes. From this experiment, we showed the possibility that chondrocytes could be mechanosensitive against high HP. For further study, we could use inhibitors for each possible Ca2+ receptors and strive to find the gate of mechanotransduction.

A concept of a "Kite-type Wind-Power Generator" system is studied for evaluating the potential of an innovative high altitude wind power technology which utilizes a tethered buoyant WPG to extract energy from wind at higher altitude. The demonstration model consists of a straight blade windmill, a specially designed kite to elevate to high altitude, and a generator on ground, where the windmill and the generator are connected each other with a loop tether and wind energy is transferred from the windmill to the generator. A small demonstration model is studied experimentally by wind tunnel tests. Result of the present analysis and experimental study show an expecting facility to provide natural and eternal energy for the habitants in the city area.

<p>Hyperloop is a next-generation transportation system plan that is currently being developed which is a railroad running in a tube with reduced pressure. In this research, we aim to understand the behavior of the capsule and to investigate the running stability by numerical analysis of the flow field inside the Hyperloop tube. In this study, the tube is moved at high speed in numerical calculation and the internal flow field is examined. Calculation is performed considering compressibility in non-steady computation. In addition, each parameter was calculated from the relational expression of the shock wave whose Mach number was changed and given as a condition. In the process of calculation, we changed the total pressure applied and verified in which condition shock waves occur in the tube. Also, we investigated the effects on the capsule due to the changed Mach number and the change in the speed, and made it a basic research to examine the running stability of the Hyperloop.</p>

交通事故死者数の半減が日本の国家目標になっている。技術史上の大発明であるシートベルトと車体構造の進化により、交通事故による24時間以内死亡者数は減少しているが重傷者数は増加しており、交通弱者である子供(15歳以下)ならびに高齢者の死亡・重傷者合計数が増加している。死者・重傷者の半減に貢献するために、最適化設計されたシートベルトと故池田正彦氏が発明した衝撃緩衝装置を組み合わせて、乗員保護効果を極大化することを提案する。さらに、高齢者の認知・反応機能劣化に対応して、RFID装置を歩行者・自転車乗用者認識用のエージェント指向通信・放送システムとして適用することを提案する。

Silicon carbide (SiC) is a promising wide-bandgap semiconductor for future power electronics and system applications. However, high-efficient and ultra-precise dicing of SiC remains a challenge due to its extremely high hardness and brittleness. Investigation of the influence of laser processing parameters on cut quality of laser diced SiC wafer can improve efficiency and precision. In this work, 4H-SiC wafers were processed with multi-passes of a CO_2 continuous laser source. The influence of the laser power and scanning speed on the cut quality was evaluated. The experimental results showed that it was possible to obtain a smooth surface, with average arithmetic roughness as small as 0.56μm at effective speed as fast as 1.25mm/s.

The sensitivity of a fishing rod is related to transmitting behavior to an angler when the a fish to rise to the bait and the motions of the lure. In this study, the sensitivity of a fishing rod is clarified. The transfer function and the behavior of a fishing rod were measured in the rockfish fishing. Based on the experimental results, the sensitivity of a fishing rod was discussed and it seems reasonable to conclude: (1) When the fish to rise to the bait, two kinds of the behavior of fishing rods are observed. (2) The vibration characteristics are different in the structures of the tip of a fishing rod. (3) The sensitivity of a fishing rod is evaluated from the damping ratio and the transfer function.

The teaching tool for learned the mechanism of wind power generation in junior high school industrial arts and homemaking course was developed. Developed teaching tool is a windmill of the savonius-type. The magnetic levitation bearing has been installed so that the impeller may lightly rotate. The rotation of the blades are accelerated by the gear, and the magnet rotates it. The transformer has been installed at the lower, and the electricity is being generated by the change of the magnetic field. The main body is made in the transparent acrylic pipe, as to observe the transmission of the power is possible. The class practice was carried out by the utilization of this teaching tool for junior high school students. As the result, it was possible to learn the mechanism of the wind power generation experimentally, and the fixing of the learning heightened.

H_2 controller is designed with the reduced order model of smart pantograph structure which is obtained by finite element and modal analyses. The control force is applied by the piezoelectric film actuator and the feedback signals are detected by the accelerometer in the system. The vibration response is suppressed by modal control. The placement of the piezoelectric actuator and the H_2 control system are simultaneously optimized by using GA to achieve an enhanced vibration control performance. It has been verified by simulations that the enhanced performance for the vibration suppression can be achieved by the present method.
