We introduced significance and the summary of three keys (the Illumination-Related Publication, Prize for Illumination Spread Commendation, the Day of the Light) for illumination spread promotion. We administered it as a national body. At first we introduced the name and a purpose of the main publication which the promoting Division published. Next, The promoting Division commended a superior illumination institution of each age completion as a prize for illumination spread In Japan. We established October 21 with "the Day of the Light". We distribute a leaflet in a street on this day and suggest the energy saving of the residence for the prevention of global warming. We hope this leaflet to anyone at hand, and to inflect. And we commented on efficient lighting equipment or illumination technique in this leaflet in detail.

It is a renovation of a chapel that was originally designed in 1963 by Antonin Raymond who once worked with Frank Lloyd Wright. Antonin Raymond designed this chapel in the image of Noah's ark. The architectural renovation concept was to inherit the Raymond's design and to keep it as a symbolic architecture over the next 50 years. The major lighting problem before the renovation was the lack of luminance level during the school classes. The school especially requested to secure a high luminance level. In addition, there were no programmed lighting scenes corresponding to the various chapel uses. We solved those problems, while maintaining its calm and solemn atmosphere.

地下1階,地上6階の規模でテナント数約300を擁する「ラゾーナ川崎プラザ」は,JR川崎駅西口前の東芝堀川町工場跡地に建設された複合商業施設である.「大屋根に覆われた街」をコンセプトに大屋根とこれを支える列柱により自由に行き来できる開放的な空間を形成し川崎市の新しいイメージを創出している.

A woman's complexion color is an important and familiar factor in the evaluation of preferred color appearances under illumination. For this reason, a new method of estimating preference for Japanese complexion color under illumination is proposed is the present study. T clarify the relationship between preference for Japanese woman complexion under illumination and the chromaticity coordinates of the complexion on the CIE 1976 u' v' chromaticity diagram, we analyzed subjective evaluation data obtained by evaluating the color appearance of 40 complexions by using seven evaluation categories in detail. A new preference index PS for Japanese complexion color under illumination was derived from the experimental results. It was clarified that the new index PS correlated well with not only the experimental data but also with preference for Japanese woman complexion color under illumination produced by various kinds of light sources adopted. The new index PS can evaluate the preferences concerning Japanese woman complexion color related to light sources better than the standard illuminant D_<65>, which can not be evaluated by the present index R_a proposed by CIE and JIS. The preference index for the complexion color PS proposed in the present study will be useful related to a practical estimation index of the color rendering properties of light sources from the viewpoint of preference of complexion color.

ネオンサインの寿命は15年分ら20年,バブル全盛時は10年を待たずして消えていった名作ネオンも多い.都市の景観もそれとともに,つれづれに変貌する.バブル崩壊後は景気の停滞を反映してネオンも地味に成った.日本のネオン風景を象徴する銀座の過去と現在を比較するとともに,"今"を代表するネオン作品を紹介したい.

High directional LED lighting has been developed as a parallel light source as a hologram reconstruction. High visibility can be obtained to have the light intensity distribution of the rectangular pseudo-parallel light using an expanded image from the emitter of the light source. It is possible to telecentric lighting by multi-dots pattern formation using a pseudo-parallel light. High stage effects can be obtained by linear pattern formation by oblique irradiation of pseudo-parallel light. It is useful as a safety aided by the linear pattern formation by the refractive optical element and a pseudoparallel light. High directional pattern formation LED lighting are beginning to be put to practical use in the industry various fields such as inspection, stage, building, road, safety, art, sightseeing, communication, laboratory and so on.

This article reviews the terms used by light designers, and the way they proceed with their work, in the context of actual light design. The purpose of the article is to illustrate, in an easily understandable manner, multiple intentions underlying light design, and the way these intentions combine to create a certain light environment. The author also hopes to clarify how designers differ in their approach, and in their viewpoint regarding light planning.
