管理栄養士養成施設栄養学科の4年生が教育者となり、同学科1年生に対して栄養教育を行う「ピア・エデュケーション」を実施した。その結果、1年生にとっては、3年後の自分や、管理栄養士として働く将来像をイメージできるなどの好ましい感想が多く確認された。4年生にとっては、管理栄養士として社会で働く前に実際に栄養教育を行う貴重な経験や、他の学生が行う栄養教育を観察することから多くを学べる経験もできた。このことから、「ピア・エデュケーション」による栄養教育は両学年の学生にとって効果的な教育プログラムであることが確認できた。しかし、他者評価の得点と自己評価の得点との間に有意な得点差が認められたことから、客観的に評価できるスキルの向上も目指して、教育をしていくことも必要であることが示唆された。

栄養学科の学生がレシピに関する情報を発信するためのウェブサイト「天使の給食」を構築し、給食経営管理論実習の授業において活用している。この授業に関するアンケートを実施し、その効果を検討した。その結果、ウェブサイトを活用した授業に対して、対象学年である2年生の多くは興味を持って取り組んでいることがわかった。また、このウェブサイトとこのサイトを活用した授業は、3年次において役立てられることが示唆された。栄養士・管理栄養士として働く際には積極的に情報を提供することが求められるが、情報を提供することに関して消極的な学生が多かった。授業において、学生に情報提供の機会を与えることが必要である。今後は、「天使の給食」が学生にどのように利用され、さらに、このサイトを利用することで献立作成能力が向上させられるのかを詳しく検討していく必要がある。

This study discussed how to do Death Education for school-aged children and evaluated intervention in Death Education. The subjects were 80 children - the 4^<th> grade of elementary school. As the teaching material for Death Education a documentary film was prepared; the story of a school-aged boy living and fighting against his disease. The subjects wrote two reports about "the meaning of life" or "life now", before and after of the Death Education. Their reports were analyzed using the constant comparative method. Analysis revealed that there were four major categories before intervention (#1-4), and five major categories after intervention (#5-9). 1. the preciousness of life, 2. their feelings about daily life, 3. their thought about life and death regarding other person's circumstances, 4. the significance of life and death, 5. the absurdity of death, 6. their new leaning about the preciousness life, 7. their impression about living and life, 8. attitudes to life, 9. their emotional response to the unreasonable death of other. As a result, compared with categories before and after intervention, children have an opportunity to think and to feel about "life", "death" and "daily life" more familiarly after the intervention. This teaching material for Death Education was easy to comprehend for them, because the character in the film was a school-aged child of the same generation. It was extrapolated that children were concerned about "life", "death" and "daily life", but they had no chance to talk or reflect about this theme with their families, teachers or friends. We still have to continue to discuss and evaluate methods of Death Education, but in greater dialogue about this theme with children.

The purpose of this paper is to introduce Feinberg's theory of person and life with reference to the 4th paper "Abortion" in Foundation of Bioethics, Tokai University Press, 1988. According to Feinberg, there are two concepts of person: one is a commonsense person and the other is a moral person. For instance, many people claim that embryos are not a commonsense person, but from the start a moral person. For this reason they negate abortion. However, Feinberg claims that embryos are neither a commonsense person, nor a moral person. For this reason he permits abortion.

鉄分は、月経や妊娠との関わりから、20〜30歳代女性には特に必要な栄養素であるが、食事からの鉄分摂取量の不足が報告されている。一方、管理栄養士教育課程の学生は、将来、食生活の指導を行う立場になることから、学生時代における好ましい食態度の形成は重要な課題である。本研究では、栄養学科の女子学生288名を対象に「鉄分を含む食品に対する意識調査」を行い、鉄分に関する食態度の実態把握と検討を行った。内容は、鉄分を多く含む食品を3つあげ、料理名および食べる頻度を質問した。その結果、回答者の約70%が鉄分の多い食品をレバーと答えていたが、食べる頻度については、約80%はほとんど食べていないと回答していた。ほうれんそうと小松菜を食べる頻度は他の食品に比べると高く、学年による摂取頻度の差がみられた。鉄分の摂取量を増やす一つの方法として、一連の教育(食品の知識を高める→料理に取り入れる技術を習得する→食品の摂取が増し習慣化する)を反復することが必要であると考えられる。

The purpose of this study was to investigate the contents of nursing skills which senior nursing students experienced, in adult nursing practice of an acute term. We distinguished the nursing skills according to each patients disease type and according to the type of teaching materials used for the students. We did a questionnaire investigation of 83 senior nursing students of "A" college, after the course and practice was finished. The results were as follows : 1. Preoperative nursing skills were evaluated at 6-37%; the rate that students could perform pre-op care was therefore low. 2. Postoperative nursing skills were evaluated at a high level particularly for "bed baths" and " wound treatment", whilst stoma care, tube-feeding, oral/nasal suctioning, etc were weaker. 3. The contents of nursing skills that students could experience were different according to the patients' disease type. The students entrusted to care for patients with a disease of the digestive organs, or of the circulatory system showed a greater tendency to perform skills better. 4. 62% of the students were prepared for clinical practice using "the hint for learning nursing skills" (information packet). 40% of the students also made use of "the self learning unit" (practice unit in the college nursing lab), to practice their nursing skills. Of all the various teaching materials available to nursing students it seems to us that "video learning" may be the least effective.

This study aims to understand the effects of changes in the approaches to clinical practice, specifically the introduction of skills exercises beforehand, on students' performance of nursing skills in the area of acute adult nursing in College A. Comparisons were made between the seniors of this school year (2004-2005), who had skills exercises prior to clinical practice, and those of school year (2003-2004) who did not. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 87 seniors at College A after the completion of each group's clinical practice. The response rate was 68 percent. The survey result was compared to the result of last year for analysis. The findings are as follows: 1. The nursing skills which 60 percent or more of the students were able to perform were five "post-operative" skill items, an increase of three items from the previous school year. On the other hand, the skills which only 30 percent or less of the students were able to perform were 10 items in the "pre-operative" category, up one item from the previous school year, and 23 items in the "post-operative" category, down one from the previous school year. 2. In seven items, the number of students who were able to perform the skills increased by 10 percent or more compared with the previous school year. Of the seven items, a significant difference from the previous year was found only in electrocardiogram monitor. In four items, the rate of performance by the students decreased by 10 percent or more. It is clear from the above that for more students to be able to perform nursing skills, it is necessary to introduce other methods to give them more opportunities to perform those skills in addition to the skills exercises prior to clinical practice.

The purpose of this study was to identify the types of touch and to describe the meaning of touch in the context. The subjects were 3 cancer patients and 10 nurses in the palliative care unit. The data was collected from the participant observation of patients and nurse in the care unit, semi-structured interview to the nurse about the scene, which a touch arose in. These data were analyzed by the qualitative and inductive approach. The findings were as follows. 1.
