Many elderly people find rehabilitation training pleasurable at first, but difficult to continue. One of the causes is the monotony of the training. In order to reduce this, we developed a foot-operated wheelchair called the "Step Walker" for walk rehabilitation training which allows the patient more freedom of movement. The Step Walker has a pedal with a linkage mechanism and can move forward when the patient performs the step movement. Musclar power can be improved by using this wheelchair, without the patient being conscious of training. Measurement of the action potential of the muscles during Step Walker use and walking showed the muscles of the leg required for walking could be effectively trained by using this Step Walker.

As one of the manufacturing processes in the apparel industry, a fabric roll has to spread a piece of cloth smoothly on the working table in order to cut the cloth into parts. In this process, it is important to prevent creasing by adjusting the spreading speed of the cloth. However, the construction of a speed control system is difficult, because the tension acting on the spread cloth cannot be estimated. Accordingly, the shape of a hanging cloth-belt in the cloth spreading machine is determined by a estimated curve based on the catenary function. The coefficients of the curve are calculated by detecting the displacement of a representative point on the doth-belt. Using this estimated curve. the tension can be measured with a high accuracy without touching the cloth. In this paper. the accuracy of the calculated values by the estimated cloth curve and the dynamic behavior of the cloth-belt are discussed. A new speed control system with the estimation mechanism of tension was proposed, and good performance was confirmed.

大気汚染物質の削減のため,NOx,CO,CO_2などの排出ガス濃度の低減化が小熱量の燃焼装置においても急務である.その対策として,多炎孔バーナ方式の予混合燃焼装置が有望視され,家庭・業務用の温水ボイラなどに採用されている.しかし,多炎孔バーナ方式のボイラでは,高レベルの燃焼振動騒音が発生するため,騒音の抑制策を確立する必要がある.本報告では,缶体系の共鳴周波数に類似する燃焼振動の周波数を,付加する励振信号の周波数に同期化させる引込み現象を用いて,騒音の抑制策を提案する.その結果,燃焼振動騒音は励振信号の付加によって約30dB低減し,抑制策の効果は極めて大きいことがわかった.

This study investigates how the season and the correlated color temperature affect the impression of lighting. However, subjective evaluation inevitably has individual variation. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to clarify how within- and between-subject variation changes. The experiment variables are the season, the illuminance of the room, and the correlated color temperature of the fluorescent lamp. The seasons are summer and winter, there are 12 levels of vertical illuminance of the room from 0.5 to 2000 lx, and the correlated color temperature of the lamps are 3000 and 6700 K. The subjects are 27 to 31 young women. They evaluate brightness, glare, comfort, and relaxation effect of the lighting. In conclusion : 1) Brightness, glare, and comfortable sensations change depending on the illuminance. The influence on the relaxation effect due to the illuminance is small, and the relation is clear for each individual. The subjects have suitable illuminance levels for relaxation. 2) All four items are influenced by the change of illuminance level in between-subject variation. The range of illuminance in which the evaluation between subjects stabilized is as follows: brightness is 500 lx or more, glare is 50 lx or less, comfort is from 20 to 50 lx, and relaxation is from 10 to 20 lx. 3) The variation between individuals is larger than the variation for each individual, though there is little difference with changes in illuminance.
