災害列島日本のなかで,災害対応技術のひとつであるレスキューロボットに関心を持ち,学び,そして,研究者にまで育つ若いエンジニア(研究者)を育成することは重要なことである.そのため著者が各種機関と取り組んでいる行っている事業例として「防災リテラシー」,「防災をテーマにしたコンペティション」「防災支援機材の開発」を挙げ紹介し,効果的な防災教育について述べる.

In this paper, we propose a synthesis approach of nonlinear state observer for inverted pendulum systems based on the quadratic stabilization problem and confirm its validity by simulations.

We develop termite prevention-of-the-breeding and extermination robots system. This robot system is applied technology of rescue robot system. The most important feature of this robot system is in collaboration with a worker to protect house from termites. Therefore, these robots are design according as safety guideline for service robots. The name of the robots system is named "mirubo". This research shows the method of evaluations for the mirubo III. The evaluations include main five examinations as mobility exam, velocity exam, illumination exam, injection exam and step-over-performance exam.

Interest has grown in the potential application of robot technology at accident and disaster sites where there exists the possibility of secondary disasters, and much effort is being channeled into research in this area. Yet, much of this effort has been directed at advanced, expensive robot technologies. We have been looking at ways of realizing a readily applicable robot technology for such disaster sites, and propose a relatively low-cost rescue robot with simple, intuitive operation, that does not require power supply lines. We report on a simple search device based on a human-powered generator, an improved version of an earlier device using a direct mechanical drive for mobility.

The small tricycle type electric vehicle: MEGURU-1 was made by the Yodogawa Manufacturing Ltd. in Osaka Prefecture Moriguchi City in 2009 fiscal year. In this year, the Yodogawa company and Osaka Pref. College of Technology will produce a second model of the vehicle. In this paper, we show that development and evaluation of MEGURU-2. MEGURU-2 is the motorcycle with sidecar in the security standard of the road transport vehicle in Japan. We design the body of MEGURU-2 to suit the security standard of the road transport vehicle in Japan. The power source of MEGURU-2 is the sealed lead acid battery. It is important that knowledge of basic performance of the use battery. There we research the charge and discharge performance.
