無雪期の航空写真から測定または判読できるなだれ発生斜面の固定因子として植生, 傾斜, 方位, 斜面形をとりあげ, 陵線と谷線で区分した単位斜面を分類し, 84のパタンにまとめた。積雪期の航空写真からなだれを判読し, 84のパタンおのおのについて, なだれが発生した確率を求めた。この確率を使って固定因子を判読または測定できれば, 積雪深に応じたなだれの発生率を計算することができる。

A number of distinct signatures suspected of relating to Maya relics are observed over northern Yucatan Peninsula, serendipitously, during the geological study on JERS-1/SAR imagery. Among other things, ancient roadways ("sacbe"in indigenous language) are prominent being expressed as linear features, mostly with dark tones, throughout the whole region. Preliminary interpretation shows that these archaeological lineaments might also be indications of putative causeways, moats, walls and the like constructed by Maya people in the past. Another interesting patterns to be noted are numerous bright spots which suggest remains of human dwellings consisted of aggregation of huge mounds, courtyards, buildings including pyramids, from place to place. No verification with on-site ground check is practised yet ; however, the result of correlation with existing data seems to be encouraging to demonstrate the unique potentiality of JERS-1 imagery in radar archaeology, particularly, in terms of penetration through vegetative cover.

Previously unknown ancient remains were detected in the Memphite necropolis of Egypt by the analysis of satellite data. As one of the result, a brick architecture with a small pyramid of the new kingdom was discovered at Dahshur which is some 20km south from Giza. It was the first discovery in Egypt using this new method. This study is being done in cooperation with Tokai University Research & Information Center and The Egyptian Culture Center of Waseda University.The main purpose of this study is to detect undiscovered pyramids in Egypt with the aid of satellite remote sensing technology and ecological analysis of the Egyptian dynastic period. Satellite remote sensing technology is expected to be a powerful tool for a wide range observation in the field of archaeological study. Multiple satellite data, i. e., Landsat-TM, SPOT-PAN, SPOT-XS, KVR-1000, JERS 1-SAR, EERS 1-SAR and maps based on archaeological research, were used for this study. The discovery of the remains was made in the process of the study. The result of this study clearly shows that satellite remote sensing technology is a very useful in archaeological observation.

航空写真撮影用無線操縦模型飛行機は, 学術調査や人跡未踏地の調査の一手段として用いられ, 航空写真撮影用プラットフォームの一つとして位置づけられてきた。<BR>しかしながら, 従来の無線操縦模型飛行機は, 安定性, 安全性, 操縦性, 作業性等に若干の問題があった。<BR>本論文は, これらの問題点を改良して, 従来の固定翼式に比較して実用上, 格段に向上した性能を持つフレキシブル翼を有する小型飛行機を設計製作し, ハッセルブラッドMK-70を搭載して行なった航空写真測量実験およびその結果について報告するものである。

This paper introduces a method for colourizing the black and white (B/W) air photos by transferring colour information from another colour air photos that capture the same vegetations at the same season. Air photos taken by U.S. Air Force just after WWII were the first ones that cover whole Japan. As they are available only in B/W, the imagery has not been fully utilized.In our method, land cover was roughly categorized on a B/W image, whereas colour information for each category was taken from colour source images. Then colour information and original intensity information of the B/W image were combined in the HSI colour space.A questionnaire on photo interpretation experts revealed that the proposed method worked well for the photos. Additionally, rough categorization was enough for the method and the colourized photos might improve interpretation efficiency. The colourized images should be used for various purposes such as 3D landscape visualisation.

We have been provided confusion to some extent by several explanations of dissimilar meanings with respect to a scientif ical terminology.This paper shows a semantic problem concerning stochastic error term stood for “mean square error” (MSE) which does not exhibit only “root of mean of squared errors” in surveying and photogrammetry, but also indicates “average of squared errors” (or residuals) in statistics.Therefore, it is highly recommended even in surveying and photogrammetry that precision and accuracy illustrated a dispersion and an extent of measurements, respectively, should be utilized variance and MSE (square of “RMS” (root mean square) error) which can be obtained with sum of squared differences between measurements and most probable parameter (or true value), divided by number of observations, or redundancy of them. Similarly, definition of “MSE” in statistics makes variance added to squared bias (systematic error) .

The author from 1963 to 1966, in collaboration with the Ministry of Construction, made observations of the movement of flood waters in 13 main rivers in this country, using aerial photogrammetry. Our rivers are characterized by their swift currents and after a typhoon, when the water increases rapidly, the surface of these swift flood currents is covered with foam and there appears, when observed from an aircraft, a difference in hue in the muddiness caused by the macroturbulence. By shortening the time between exposures in the aerial photograph, we were able to measure the water current velocity over the entire surface, using the parallax method (Cameron effect) .Although the distribution of the current velocity over the entire surface at any given moment is extremely complicated, there could be observed a certain common pattern. Upon analysis of this pattern, we could determine a very close similarity to that pattern displayed by the distribution of surface current velocity observed in an experimental flume, where it is known that there are, along the longitudinal axis, parallel cycloidal flows, in which adjacent vortices have opposite directions of rotation.This analysis gives us cause to believe that it may now be possible by aerial photogrammetry not only to measure the current velocity of, but also to understand the structure of turbulence in the flood waters of our swift current rivers, which are otherwise unapproachable. Various basic problems which arise in connection with the measurement of turbulence by photogrammetry are also to be considered.

GMSのCCTデータのパラメータ部と画像の一部のフォーマット変換とリスト処理の手法を開発した。<BR>このフォーマット変換は, データコントロールパラメータと記述文コントロールパラメータを用いて, バッファメモリ上で編集しながら処理を行うものである。<BR>このフォーマット変換を用いれば, 見出し, ページ, 項目番号, 記述文, データの位置, データの長さ, 副記述文を付加し文字型に変換されたパラメータ部のデータが得られる。また, 画像データ部の1ラインのダンプリストが10進数と16進数で得られる。<BR>この手法は, LANDSAT-MSS, LANDSAT-RBV, NOAAのCCTデータにも応用できる。<BR>LANDSAT-RBVとNOAAに関しては, すでにフォーマット変換を実行している。<BR>この変換手法を利用することによる利点はつぎのとおりである。<BR>1) パラメータ部のデータの内容が理解しやすくなる。<BR>2) 画像データのダンプリストにより, 画像のレベルを解析以前に知ることができる。<BR>3) 将来確立が予想される, リモートセンシングデータの統一的なデータ管理システムに応用できる。

A discovery of the buried Egyptian remains has been made by using satellite SAR data. L-band (HH) signal of SIR-C (Shuttle imaging Radar Mission-C), which was very similar to the characteristics of the existing Egyptian pyramids, was detected on a hilltop of Saqqara where nothing has been reported so far. As the result of the ground truth, some artificial lime stone blocks and significant fragments were found. The area is situated approximately 200m west of the pyramid of Merenre. This is a preliminary report of the study for satellite SAR application in Egypt.

The purpose of this report is to observe the internal structure of old scluptures and to measure the sizes of the nails used inside, the analytical X-ray photogrammetry utilized in this report has been studied for about 24 years. At first, the relationship between the target of X-ray tube and the object and the relationship between the target of X-ray tube and the projected point on the X-ray film were discussed. Next, the relationship between the density of X-ray film and the thickness of the wood, the voltage, the electric current and the exposure time were investigated. From the analogy between the analytical photogrammetry and analytical X-ray photogrammetry, the algorithm of the analytical X-ray photogrammetry were derived. In this report, the application of analytical X-ray photgrammetry on the wooden Buddist such as AMIDA, JUNI-SHINSHO and BISHAMONTEN, FUDOMYOO etc. were investigated. And the merits of the analytical X-ray photogrammetry are described.

The Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (GSI) has operated the GPS Earth Observation Network system (GEONET) since 1996, as an indispensable national infrastructure for GPS surveying, crustal deformation monitoring and precise Location Based Services. With the advent of multi GNSS environment, advanced users require GNSS data other than GPS, such as GLONASS, Quasi Zenith Satellite System (QZSS), Galileo, and so on. In response to these demands, GSI updated all receivers and antennas of about 1,300 GEONET stations, and started to provide QZSS and GLONASS data from May 10, 2013, yielding a network-based RTK-GNSS positioning service for all over Japan by the private sector. GEONET is now literally a GNSS Earth Observation Network system.

In this technical report, we propose a new clustering method based on histogram intersection. We prove the effectiveness the proposed method through experiments of land cover classification with multispectral image. Finally, we comment on the respects in which the proposed method is improved and on future prospects.

沿岸環境や水質汚染の監視のために, 水面からの反射スペクトルの特性と水質との関連を明らかにする必要がある。こうした目的に沿って1975年から1977年までに筆者等は, いろいろな湖や海域で水面からの反射スペクトルの測定と同時に, 透明度等の水質調査を行なってきた。特に採水した試水については, 光学的な水質項目である懸濁物質量とクロロフィル量の分析を行なった。本論では, 以上の観測結果から, 水面からの反射スペクトルと水質との関連についての検討を行なった.これらの結果として, 汚濁の強い水域では清澄な水域より, 反射率が高いので, 水質の指標として水面反射率の測定は有効であると結論できる。

広域の地すべり研究として, 九州北西部の北松浦半島をとりあげた。写真判読により地形解析を行なった。解析図は地形分類, 傾斜分布, 水系・分水界, 土地利用, 地すべり分布, 玄武岩分布, 線状構造である。解析によって, 次の地形特性を明らかにした。1) 地すべりのあまり進行しないところ, 2) 過去の大地すべりがところにより保存されるところ, 3) 地すべり地が密集し, 現在も引続いて運動するところ。これらは地域的に, 北西部緩傾斜地, 南西部急傾斜地, 東半部急傾斜地に対応する。さらに, いくつかの例をあげ最近の地すべり発達にふれた。
