This study is to induce by the factor analysis the factors of wakuwaku, the positive emotions at work,and to get them structured by the covariance structure analysis. The authors identified five factors composed by twenty-five items as factors of wakuwaku, and then discovered that it is the circulating structure by using the covariance structure analysis. They quantitively validated those factors and its structure by the confirmative factor analysis and the PANAS analysis to prove the efficacy of the structure.

π-Conjugated molecules and polymers are expected to have a variety of applications in organic electronics. Control over how these π-conjugated systems stack in the solid state is crucial for utilization of their desirable photophysical and electrical properties. Some molecules need to be designed with enhanced π-stacking abilities, whereas others might display novel properties as a result of restricting their π-stacking abilities. Furthermore, π-conjugated molecules or polymers that display partial π-stacking are of interest for potential new applications because of the synergy of the contrasting properties of stacked and isolated π-conjugated systems. Here, we highlight recent progress in molecular design to control π-stacking, with a particularly focus on the redox properties of these unique molecular systems.

In this study, we developed a chatbot that gives advice for improving well-being and obtained basic knowledge about its well-being improving effect. In the design of the chatbot, we derived advice candidates from behaviors that are highly correlated with well-being based on a questionnaire survey. In the quantitative survey, the chatbot gave advice 172 verification subjects 13 times from the derived advice candidates. As a result, we confirmed that the group that executed a lot of contents of the advice improved the well-being level compared to the group that executed few ones.

This study is to focus on factors on well-being and ill-being at work, and to develop a scale to measure quantitatively states of employees’ well-being. The proposed scales consist of the well-being scale (7 factors: 67 items) and the ill-being scale (7 factors: 62 items) at work, which will be positioned as subcategories of existing scales on the subjective well-being such as SWLS (Diner et al., 1985) and Maeno’s four factors of happiness (Maeno, 2013). Identified factors are expected to be used in the fields of career development for individual employees and human resource management, in order to improve the state of well-being and ill-being at work.

The photovoltaic (PV) effect in polar materials offers great potential for light-energy conversion that generates a voltage beyond the bandgap limit of present semiconductor-based solar cells. Ferroelectrics have received renewed attention because of the ability to deliver a high voltage in the presence of ferroelastic domain walls (DWs). We report an unusually large PV response induced by ferroelastic DWs — termed ‘DW’-PV effect. The precise estimation of the bulk PV tensor in single crystals of barium titanate enables us to quantify the giant PV effect driven by 90°DWs. We show that the DW-PV effect arises from an effective electric field consisting of a potential step and a local PV component in the 90° DW region. This work offers a starting point for further investigation into the DW-PV effect of alternative systems and opens a reliable route for enhancing the PV properties in ferroelectrics based on the engineering of domain structures in either bulk or thin-film form.
