Toyota's original suggestion that the optimum height difference of desk and seat should be 1/3 of the individual sitting height was experimentally investiated. Performance scores of the figure tracing of 18 male and female students and thier fatigue complaints were studied at height differences of -6, -3, 0, ..3, -6 cm of 1/3 sitting height. In case the height difference was a little lower than 1/3 sitting height, the tracing performance was the best and the least fatigue complaints were made. Memomotion study by films demonstrated the natural wrist and elbow movements at 0 and -3 cm height. Electromyographic test confirmed the above results.The subjects preferred -3 cm for writing, 0 cm for reading. The optimum desk-seat difference was concluded to be revised as -1 to -2 cm of 1/3 of the sitting height.

The roentgenological techniques for the giography of monkey were described. The techniques were proved to be useful either for stereotypic analysis of the cardiovascular system or in a magnificating studies with the organ slice following the administration of the contrast media.A live monkey should be examined by arteriopuncture under the intravenous anesthesia with pent- barbitulate. In the case of dead monkey, it was recommended to leave the body in 5°C for 48 to 72 hrs. before the application of contrast media.The emulsified contrast media was introduced slowly into the femoral artery under a fluoroscopy.Bucky was necessary for the better results in the roentgenography of a whole body or the trunk.No screen expose technique was used for the better result to the individual organs.In order to obtain a sharp picture, an enough distance for focal spot, low voltage and waek current were recommended since the exposure has not any limitation for the still object.

The dynamic Young's modulus and the piezoelectric constant of old timbers have been measured. They increase with time during the first about 300 years, then decrease gradually. The relation between the modulus and the constant is linear, indicating that both depend on the crystalline region content of cellulose fibers. The changes of the modulus and the constant with time can be explained by the crystallization and the heat dissociation of cellulose molecules that go on for long years.
