Japanese char Salvelinus leucomaenis, red-spotted masu salmon Oncorhynchus masou ishikawae, hybrid individuals were collected from a tributary of the Ibigawa River, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. The char and hybrids were mainly distributed in the headwater area where eyed eggs of red-spotted masu salmon are released in each year. Principal component analysis (PCA) of the morphological features of parental and hybrid individuals indicated that hybrid body shape was similar to that of char. Partial nucleotide sequences of mitochondrial DNA indicated the female parental species to be red-spotted masu salmon, without exception. Genotyping of three loci of short interspersed repetitive elements (SINE) of inserted alleles showed all hybrid individuals to be F1, with no evidence of backcrossing. These results indicated that the introduced red-spotted masu salmon hybridized with male char, with a high survival rate of sterile F1 offspring.

A non-native brown trout Salmo trutta (407 mm in fork length, 717 g in body weight) was collected from the Otsukushinai River, southern Hokkaido, Japan, in 2019. This specimen was an immature male (0.4 g in gonad weight). The otolith Sr:Ca ratio profile and annual rings suggested that the specimen had migrated to the sea at the age of 4+ years and ascended the Otsukushinai River in the year of the seaward migration. This study is the first record of invasion of anadromous brown trout through the sea in Japan.

Eighteen specimens of the pipefish Microphis retzii were collected from several rivers on Iriomote and Ishigaki Islands (Yaeyama Islands, Ryukyu Islands, Japan) from 1990 to 2019. The records from Iriomote Island, including variously sized specimens plus brooding males over multiple years, suggest established settlement of the species. The records from Ishigaki Island, being the first specimen-based records of the species from that locality, are suggestive of a new settlement. Accordingly, M. retzii should be treated as a Japanese resident species, rather than one subject to abortive migration, making them eligible for evaluation of red lists in Japan.

要旨:心原性脳塞栓症発症急性期の経食道心エコー検査にて左房内血栓を認め,dabigatran etexilate(DE)投与後に血栓消失を確認した非弁膜症性心房細動5 例を呈示する.発症時年齢は平均83 歳,女性が3 例,左房内血栓の最大径は平均13 mm であった.未分画ヘパリン投与後のDE への切り換え例が3 例,発症前よりのワルファリン投与からDE への切り換え例が1 例,発症前よりワルファリンが投与され発症後に未分画ヘパリンへの変更を経てのDE への切り換え例が1 例であった.発症各3 日,5 日,5 日,7 日,18 日後からの平均18 日(6~39 日)間のDE(4 例で110 mg×2/日,1 例で150 mg×2/日)投与により全例で症候性再発を認めることなく左房内血栓消失が確認された.心原性脳塞栓症急性期に心内血栓が検出された非弁膜症性心房細動患者におけるDE 投与が,再発予防を目的とした急性期抗凝固療法の一方法になりうることが期待される.

<i>Helicobacter pylori</i>の血清診断,尿素呼気試験は非侵襲的で,感染診断のスクリーニングには十分な精度がある.血清抗体価は除菌成功後は経時的に低下することから,治療後のモニタリングにも有用である.血清ペプシノーゲン値も治療に伴い早期から変動し,治療効果の指標の一つとなり得る.尿素呼気試験は測定法等に解決すべき点は残されているものの,その正確性から除菌判定のスタンダードとされている.
