We experienced a world wide spread novel influenza A( H1N1) virus infections in 2009. We can now get easily large amounts of news of novel influenza virus infections by internet. According to studying of Japanese government strategy of prevent 0 entering the Japan, we should take care about whether a novel influenza virus could already be in Japan. We also should be take care in making diagnostic standard on novel influenza virus infections in order to avoid doctors misunderstandings in diagnosing of novel influenza virus infections. The strategy of prevent 0 entering and the local closing of schools might be effective to prevent spreading novel influenza infections. Considering the examination of medical cares against novel influenza infections, medical facilities of outpatient of fever should be largely increased in future.

Appetite is a key factor for adjustment or disruption of energy balance(EB) in modern society. Contrary to expectation, energy expenditure(EE) caused by exercise does not increase the feeling of hunger or subsequent energy intake(EI), resulting in negative EB. The gut hormone family, known to play important roles in appetite regulation, is divided into 2 categories; orexigenic ghrelin and anorexigenic hormones, such as glucagon-like peptide-1(GLP-1) and peptide YY (PYY), all of which are released from the gastrointestinal tract in response to nutritional conditions. Recent findings have suggested that both single bouts of exercise and repeated habitual exercise modify the plasma levels of gut hormones related to appetite decrease. Appetite is regulated not only by the hypothalamus and brainstem, which receive neural and humoral signals arising peripherally from gastrointestinal organs and adipose tissues, such as the vagal nerves, leptin, and gut hormones, but also by higher brain centers, in which sensory, reward, and cognitive factors are involved. Most importantly, appetitive motivation generates real action, resulting in individual eating behavior. This review aims to highlight changes in appetite and EI caused by various types of exercise, the physiological characteristics and actions of various gut hormone family members, as well as the association of exercise with blood kinetics of the gut hormone family and its relevance in regulation of appetite and EB. In addition, future perspectives regarding this field of research are discussed.

We made examination between body composition and urinary growth hormone or urinary testosterone in pubertal female athletes. There was no correlation between body composition and urinary growth hormone, and there was also no correlation between body composition and urinary testosterone. There were no significant changes in growth hormone between early morning urine and at any time urine. Our results were not fully concomitant with previous studies, so further examination is needed in urine study of growth hormone or testosterone.

この研究の目的は,老人保健施設に入所中の虚弱な高齢女性20例(非訓練群10例・82.6±4.7歳,訓練群10例・81.3±4.8歳)を対象に,この内,訓練群に対して2ヵ月間の「椅子からの立ち上がり動作」の訓練を行い,その効果を検討することである。非訓練群には有意な変化はなかったが,訓練群では,訓練動作の最大持続時間(314±190→710±326秒),大腿四頭筋の平均トルク値(0.46±0.27→0.78±0.37Nm/Kg)と筋電図積分値(100→146±32%),膝関節伸展のMotorTime(159±30→121±29msec)および6分間歩行距離(159±48→238±59m)が有意に改善した。訓練による変化量であるΔ平均トルク値とΔ筋電図積分値,Δ最大持続時間ならびにΔMotor Timeとの問にそれぞれ有意な相関を示した。また,6分間歩行距離と最大持続時間ならびに平均トルク値との問にも有意な相関を示した。今回の訓練によって,主に大腿四頭筋の神経・筋系の興奮性の改善が筋力や筋持久力を増大し,さらに,筋力の増大が筋の反応性を改善し,これらが歩行能力を増大させたと考えられる。
