This study examined the effects of three types of mentoring, such as career mentoring, childcare mentoring, and double-roles mentoring, on the working intentions of regular female employees rearing children. In addition, it also examined the effects of work-family conflict and vocational identity as mediators. Survey data from 247 regular female employees whose youngest child was less than 16 years old were used. The results showed the following: (a) double-roles mentoring directly promoted working intention, and (b) career mentoring promoted vocational identity formation directly, and the degree of vocational identity formation positively influenced working intention.

The constructs of career resilience were clarified and a scale was developed to assess them. Company employees (N = 241) participated in an online survey. The results of an exploratory factor analysis indicated a five-factor structure of career resilience with a high Cronbach’s alpha: (a) ability to cope with challenges, problem-solving, and adaptation; (b) social skills; (c) novelty and diversity of interests; (d) future orientation; and (e) helping. The results of a correlation analysis showed that all five factors of career resilience directly promoted career development. The results of a two-way analysis of variance and t-tests revealed that all factors except for novelty and diversity of interests reduced the negative effects of risk on career development. The results confirmed that career resilience consisted of four factors: (a) ability to cope with challenges, problem-solving, and adaptation; (b) socialskills; (d) futureorientation; and (e) helping.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the support students who did not enter their first-choice university needed to perceive the entrance examination experience more positively. Data collected from questionnaires completed by 246 university students were analyzed. ANOVA showed that students who did not enter their first-choice university perceived the entrance examination experience more positively than those who did. Additionally, a multiple population analysis showed that emotional and informational support from friends, indirectly influenced by degree of adjustment to university, affected “continuous perception” positively and “negative attitude” negatively only for students who did not enter their first-choice university. In contrast, emotional support from friends directly influenced “negative cognition” so that it decreased for both groups of students. These results suggest that students who did not enter their first-choice university need emotional and informational support from friends to perceive the entrance examination experience more positively. In addition, these perceptions can be enhanced by assisting students in adjusting to university.

The purpose of this study is to clarify the role of career resilience in the process of vocational identity formation during job-hunting activities following rejection. Online surveys were conducted before and after job-hunting activities. Data on 93 students who completed both surveys and experienced rejection during job-hunting were analyzed. A model was developed to determine the degree to which the state of career resilience before job hunting influences the level of vocational identity through the job-hunting process. The results of path analysis showed that the ability to cope with problems and changes, optimism about the future, and interest in novelty, all of which are factors in career resilience, promoted cognitive and behavioral change during the job-hunting process, and these in turn promoted vocational identity formation. This finding indicates that it is important to improve the ability to cope with problems and changes, optimism about the future, and interest in novelty before commencing job hunting.

本研究は,生産性に関連する態度,行動・行動意図に及ぼす職業的アイデンティティの影響を検討することを目的とした.企業就業者約600名を対象とし,調査を行った(有効回答者数353名).第1ステップに職業的アイデンティティを,第2ステップに生産性に関連する態度(職務満足,仕事への内発的動機づけ,キャリア形成に対する積極性)を,第3ステップに生産性に関連する行動・行動意図(離転職意志,出社拒否による突発的な休み,残業の頻度)を設定し,パス解析を行った.その結果, 職業的アイデンティティは,生産性に関連する行動・行動意図に対して直接的に,もしくは生産性に関連する態度を介して間接的に影響を及ぼすことが確認された.
