<p> 本稿の目的は、文書布達および保存にかかわる官僚制といえる「文書行政」体系が江戸期大名(藩)統治に確立していたことの提示にある。そして、いかに藩の権威が文書の真正性と信憑性を保障していたか、そのあり様を検証する。</p><p> その事例を大垣藩(現・岐阜県大垣地方)にもとめ、寛永12年(1635)から慶応3年(1869)の江戸期末まで同藩を統治した戸田家の記録を調べることで、行政行為の証拠のために記録を作成し保存する規則たる根本法のすがたを明らかにする。その法の理解により、いかなる真正性と信憑性が達成されたか見定めることができよう。</p><p> 本稿においては、大垣藩にみるような「文書行政」体系が今日の現代的記録・アーカイヴズ管理へ示唆するところがあることをも意図している。江戸期の記録書類作成の原点、証拠志向体系から学べる意義は大きい。</p>

SGML-XML の応用形としての Encoded Archival Description EAD は、1995年に発表された Alpha Version に続いて、翌1996年に Beta Version が発表された。以来、先行のさまざまな検索手段作成の基準、例えば MARC、および MARC AMC、またアングロ・アメリカン目録作成規則AACR2、あるいはアーカイヴズ・個人記録・手稿APPM、さらにISAD(G)・ISAAR(CPF)などとの交差を考慮しながら、インターネット上の公開に対応できるように、マークアップ言語SGML-XMLの応用形としてのEAD原案が検討された。アメリカ議会図書館とSAAの共同作業成果であるEADの適用事例がハーバード大学、イエール大学、議会図書館、ヴァージニア大学から発表された(1997アメリカンアーキヴィスト60巻4号)。さらに1999年にSAAのEADワーキンググループによるアプリケーション・ガイドラインやTAG Library がSAAから公刊された。本報告はEADタグの在りようを紹介することを目的としている。

Conclusion-Economic conditions of inheritance of peasant families During the first half of the seventeenth century, when agricultural productivity was developing remarkably, there was a tendency that small holdings increased in largenumber by partitioning old large holding or by creating new arable land out of waste or forest land. They associated with each other to preform their agricultural reproduction in the community. But the increase of these small holdings would be checked by the limit of the development of agricultural productivity, for that would surpress not only their own agricultural reproduction but also that of old holding. When village population was still growing, some of the surplus labor was cutflowing out of the village, or would appear in the same village as an exceedingly small holding-mizunomi, while partitioning in. inheritance of peasant family still proceeded among peasantry.

明治6年1873、白川県 (明治22年熊本県と改称) は文部省布告に従って、県下の医師で家塾において医療教育を行っている者に対し、本人の住所・姓名・年令、弟子の族籍・姓名・年令、診療する医療の種類について、調査報告を提出させた。35家の報告書には塾則や使用教科書を附属させて医療教育のありようが記入されている。この報告書に記入されている諸データを分析し、明治初年における医療教育の水準を考察し、近代化への道筋において医療の知識普及がどのようになされたか、を考察する試みである。
