In clinical practice, lateral weight shift to one leg in the standing position and trunk anterior tilt movement in the standing position are sometimes recommended for patients for whom movement in the standing position is difficult. It was found that postural changes of the lower limbs affect the activities of lower limb muscles. Because of this finding, it has become necessary to clarify the influence of postural changes on hip muscles. In this paper, we determined the activities of hip extensor muscles when lateral weight shift to one leg in the standing position and trunk anterior tilt movement in the standing position are recommended.

The bathroom has a high humidity environment along with the kitchen and washroom. In particular, the mold contamination in the bathroom is widely recognized to affect to health and an aesthetic problem. Although many surveys on the thermal environment of the bathrooms have been conducted, only a little attention has been paid to the inside of the thermal environment in bathtub apron, and these surveys and researches are not sufficient. In this study, we report the results of a survey on the thermal environment around the bathroom, including the inside of the apron, and the habitat environment of wet mold.

Surveying the remaining Japanese-style houses in Showa-Cho in Taiwan, this study conducted the measurement survey on the houses, and authors interviewed the Japanese who had lived there. The findings of this study indicated: 1.Showa-Cho was developed with the housing society, which was established by the Japanese academics who wanted their own houses in Taiwan. 2.The results of this research suggests that there were no significant differences on the housing plan and the living conditions between the house in Showa-Cho and ones in the mainland of Japan around the same time. However, the housing plan in Showa-Cho considerably reflected the residents' desires and the characteristics of their own culture of life. 3.The residents wanted to be the permanents in Taiwan, so that these houses were particularly high-quality and adapt to the subtropical climate condition in Taiwan.

発生過程において同じシグナル伝達因子が、いろいろな部位で異なった組織形成に関与している。WntやFgfシグナルは、脊椎動物において後方組織形成に重要であることが知られている。我々は、ゼブラフィッシュにおいてWnt3a/8とFgf3/8が、その下流遺伝子cdx1a/4(caudal関連遺伝子)を介して、体幹・尾部の神経組織の形成を制御していること示してきた。今回、Cdx1a/4機能阻害胚における神経系のパターニングを詳細に調べた。Cdx1a/4機能阻害胚では、hoxb7a(4体節)より後方のhox遺伝子の神経系における発現が消失していた。これらの胚では後方神経領域において、本来の前後軸とは反対に、尾側から吻側に向って菱脳節(r)4-7・前方脊髄が形成されるていた。後方菱脳節、前方脊髄のパターン形成には、レチノイン酸(RA)およびFgfの濃度勾配が重要であると考えられている。ゼブラフィッシュ胚後方では、尾側からFgfの、体幹部からRAの濃度勾配が本来の菱脳節、前方脊髄とは前後反対に形成される。Cdx1a/4機能阻害胚では、後方神経が形成される代わりにFgfとRAの濃度勾配を感知して、新たな後方菱脳節が尾側に形成されると考えられた。そこでCdx1a/4機能阻害胚においてRA合成及びFgfシグナルの阻害実験を行った。Cdx及びRA合成阻害によりr5より後方の神経形成が阻害され、Cdx及びFgfシグナル阻害によりr4, r5の形成が阻害された。また、Cdx機能阻害胚における異所的な菱脳形成は、後方hox遺伝子(hoxb7a、a9a、b9a)の過剰発現によって阻害された。これらのことから、CdxはFgf及びRAシグナルに対する組織応答性を制御していることが示唆された。また、Cdxは、Fgfと協調して後方hox遺伝子の発現を制御して神経系のパターン形成に重要な役割をしていることが明らかとなった。以上の研究成果は、胚におけるシグナル因子に対する組織応答性の違いを生み出す機構を明らかにすることによる再生医学の基礎研究として重要であると考えられる。
