The purpose of this study is to clarify the circumstances in which the residents' postures are changed in a nursing home. The residents' behavior tracking survey and the interviews with the staff were performed for this study. The results are as follows. 1)As the body functional capacity declines, the ratio of staying in a common space decreases. Some with akathisia or with dysphagia were observed bedridden for the whole day. 2)As the body functional capacity declines, the variation and the number of the residents' postures decreases. 3)Among the postures observed of those who are unable to transfer or with akathisia and dysphagia. "sitting on a wheelchair" holds 100% of the data in the common spaces. And some were observed staying seated for quite a long time in one day

本研究領域は、持続可能な発展論と環境ガバナンス論を重層性に着目して統合的に再構成し、持続可能な社会を実現するための理論的基礎と実践的指針を確立するという極めて実践的な問題意識を持ってすすめた。個々の研究成果を理論的・実現的に蓄積させ有機的に結合することにより、従来にない先導的で基盤的な意義を有する研究成果としてまとめた。さらに、これまでに得られた学術的研究成果を基に、最終報告書として5巻にのぼる英文学術書を取りまとめた。そのうち2巻については出版し、残り3巻についても編集作業がほぼ完了した。留意した点はいかのとおりである。昨年度までに国内外で開催された国際会議や学会において研究成果を公表してきたが、そこで得られたコメント等は本領域研究の問題意識と方法等に対しておおむね好意的であった。さらに、本領域の学術的価値を適切に評価し、国際的な評価を受けるべく適宜アドバイスを求めてきた国内外の有力研究者からの指摘は本領域研究のオリジナリティに関して高い評価を得ており、その核心部分と改善に向けての示唆を最終報告書である英文学術書5巻に反映させた。国際学術誌や国内学会誌に掲載された研究成果も多数にのぼるが、それらのエッセンスに加えて中間報告書に対する論評も考慮して、本領域研究の成果を総体として持続可能な発展の重層的環境ガバナンスに関する理論的実証的体系としてまとめた。そして、その成果を国際的に発信すべく英文で出版した。また、領域研究全体としての成果を、速やかに社会に提供できる環境を構築するべく、インターネット・ウェブ・ページを開設し、外部から自由にアクセスできるようにした。これにより、国内外を問わず、この領域に関心を示す研究者とコミュニケーションに基づく批判的吟味を受け討議を行うことが可能となった。

Surveying the remaining Japanese-style houses in Showa-Cho in Taiwan, this study conducted the measurement survey on the houses, and authors interviewed the Japanese who had lived there. The findings of this study indicated: 1.Showa-Cho was developed with the housing society, which was established by the Japanese academics who wanted their own houses in Taiwan. 2.The results of this research suggests that there were no significant differences on the housing plan and the living conditions between the house in Showa-Cho and ones in the mainland of Japan around the same time. However, the housing plan in Showa-Cho considerably reflected the residents' desires and the characteristics of their own culture of life. 3.The residents wanted to be the permanents in Taiwan, so that these houses were particularly high-quality and adapt to the subtropical climate condition in Taiwan.

THIS STUDY IS THE ANALYSIS ABOUT URBAN LIVING OF FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN IN CENTRAL AREA OF 3 BIG CITIES, KYOTO, OSAKA AND KOBE, IN THE KANSAI REGION, BASED ON THE QUESTIONNAIRE TO PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS AND THEIR MOTHERS. THE RESULTS ARE AS FOLLOWS; 1)THE CHARACTERISTIC OF FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN IN CENTRAL AREA IS THAT NUMBERS OF 3 GENERATOIN FAMILIES AND DUAL-INCOME FAMILIES ARE MANY. 2) MOST PEOPLE APPRECIATE CONVENIENCE OF COMMUTING AND SHOPPING, BUT SHORTAGE OF PLAYGROUND, NOISE AND AIR POLLUTION MAKE THE LIVING ENVIRONMENT FOR CHILDREN WORSE. 3)MOST OF CHILDREN PLAY INDOOR, THOUGH THEY PREFER TO PLAY IN PARKS.

This study analyzed the original plans of all houses and the process of renovation at an independent ward in a sanatorium for Hansen's disease patients, and clarified how differences of house plans affected the process of living environment improvement. The results are as bellows: 1) The house plans were classified into 6 types. Based on this classification, the features of house scale, construction process and room layout were clarified. 2) Layout of storage spaces affected the direction of house extension. 3) The kitchen and dining areas at houses constructed by the institution were smaller than ones constructed by residents themselves. 4) 90% of three-tatami-mat-rooms were extended, and on the other hand, only 20% of 4.5 tatami-mat-rooms were extended. 5) Because the houses constructed at the later stage were built at the fringe of the site, most of them were easily extended.

This study aims at clarifying the changes in facility planning for Hansen's disease sanatoriums under the Leprosy Prevention Law based on a review of the literature. The results are as follows:1) In the late 1940s, the national sanatoriums were planned to accommodate all Hansen's disease patients despite of the unnecessary isolation, as the result of developing effective therapeutic agents. The residents submitted a petition to the authorities to establish the Leprosy Research Center etc.2) The nationwide organization of the residents negotiated improving the medical service and living environment, preparation for aging, income growth and so on, with the government..3) In the fourth stage, the nationwide organization prioritized the serious cases by improving their living environment.4) In the fifth stage, under the limited budgeting resources, an individual facility planning was implemented rather than standardized planning.

The high-rise and high-density condominium reconstructions initiated by developer had lots of bad influences to urban environment in Korea. Recently, to restrict the high-rise and high-density condominium reconstructions, legal regulations are being strengthened. As a result, condominium reconstruction is facing the decreasing of feasibility and the difficulties of developer' s positive participation. Therefore, there will be needed the owners-initiated reconstruction activities. As a first phase of whole study, in this paper, we aimed to clarify the process of consensus building on the owners-initiated condominium reconstruction by case study. The main conclusions are as follows." l) The owners-initiated reconstruction was realized by the efforts to solution the oppositional views among the parties concerned. 2) The promote organization with high decision making ability showed strong readership to the other parties concerned. 3) The relationship of mutual trust between promote organization and the other owners was established. 4) The partnership between promote organization and professionals or developer was established.
