The build-up substrates are generally used for IC package. As the integration of semiconductor has increased, higher performance of insulation material is required for build-up substrates. In this article, the author explains the characteristics of build-up material required for IC package and latest technology trends for next generation.

It is increasingly difficult to solve social problems using fragmented knowledge when our environment is constantly fluctuating, the future is unpredictable and people have diverse, often contrasting values. When tackling issues, it is desirable to keep an open mind and incorporate the perspectives of others, not bound by the assumptions and traditional culture of each discipline. This review discusses how science and technology can be integrated with other fields to generate more creative questions and solutions, and what theoretical discussions prevail around such transdisciplinary practice. It introduces the notions of science communication, which aims to produce a dialogue between scientists/engineers and the lay public, and STEAM education and thinking, which view scientific and technological knowledge as continuous to that of other disciplines and ways of thinking. The author also discusses the mechanism of science and technology as social symbols from the perspective of semiotics and translation studies, looking at how rubber and latex are interpreted beyond their functions, using the fashion and media scenes as examples.

Sulfur vulcanization was enabled by the combination of sulfur, zinc oxide and vulcanization accelerator. There are many kinds of vulcanization accelerators. Rubber products are produced by a combination of vulcanization accelerators in consideration of characteristics of them.This paper presents about the basics of sulfur vulcanization agents and the regulation for an environment.

Fundamental organometallic reactions such as dissociative and associative ligand exchange processes, oxidative addition and reductive elimination are described. Importance of both steric and electronic effects of ligands on kinetic and thermodynamic stability of the metal-ligand bond is shown. Formality, mechanistic aspects, and trends of oxidative addition and reductive elimination involving bond cleavage and formation at transition metals are also described as important fundamental organometallic reactions.

<p>Rubber is widely used in automotive and consumer fields. We are investigating the application to electrostatic capacitive sensors and electrostrictive polymer actuators by making rubber conductive. The conductive rubber sandwiches the dielectric layer (foamed urethane) so that it detects the capacitance change of the layer due to the load stress on the sensor. By using conductive rubber, we have succeeded in developing highly reliable capacitive sensor. We are promoting sensor development that can be used in medical, nursing care and automotive fields. In addition, it can also apply to an electrostrictive polymer actuator by laminating a rubber electrode and a dielectric layer with high insulating property.</p>
