The purpose of this study was to show the educational significance of children's "performance" activities observed in aschool's focal events, i.e., graduation ceremony and school musical performance. Using ethnographic method, performancequality in children's learning activities in such occasions was observed, and especially self-expressions were recorded for later analysis. Result of the analysis showed that the educational meaning of "performance" in learning activities is to exhibit self-propelling actions and to establish relationship with their communities. Through the on-going process of interaction with others, a child performs actions to bridge himself and the society in continuously reflecting manner. To facilitate children's social-self interactive qualities improvement, performance activities should be highly advocated as a child-based integrated learning/teaching process.
