A link model which is composed with a fisherman's arm, a fishing rod, a line and, a Sweet fish are used in order to simulate a fishing system by using the Multi-body Dynamics. Pictures of the landing of the fish are taken by high speed camera in order to compare the orbit of the fish with the simulated one and the accuracy of the simulation is evaluated. Then simulation of two fishing rods which are good feeling and bad feeling of landing are performed to investigate the physical parameters of the fishing behavior in the fishing. As a result, difference of the parameters for the good and the bad fishing rods are clarified.

In general, bat swing analysis of baseball has adopted an optical motion capture system. It is possible to perform advanced operating analysis, but the system is not practical for large-scale, high cost and labor-consuming measurement. In this study, the trunk rotation movement in baseball bat swing was measured using a three-dimensional gyro sensor. Gyro sensor attached to the shoulder and waist, to measure the angular velocity of the vertical axis of the body. It was possible to show a rotation movement of the trunk during the bat swing similar to the DLT method. There was no significant correlation between the angular velocity of the trunk and swing speed. There was a significant positive correlation between the maximum angular velocity of the waist and maximum angular velocity of the shoulder (r = 0.66). As a result, it was to clarify the relationship of the swing speed and trunk rotation movement.

<p>The probable performance distribution in an orbit environment of a power supply of micro/nanosatellites was evaluated by electrochemical measurements using hundreds of commercial cylindrical lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). According to the distribution map of the initial characteristics, there were 3% distribution in the discharge capacity and 11% in the internal resistance. Despite careful selection of LIB cells having same initial characteristics from the above-mentioned distribution map, the large differences in discharge capacity were found at relatively high current density with low temperature of 0°C, where the batteries installed in the CubeSats experiences. Although the difference in low-temperature performance of LIB cells fairly depended on their internal resistance, causeless factors affecting the exothermic behavior in the cooled batteries at its early stage of discharging, which leads higher or lower discharge capability, were observed. Such characteristic behavior may cause deterioration of the performance of the power supply module, overcharge/over-discharge failures, and cause safety hazard of the satellites, especially CubeSats.</p>

<p>The purpose of this study is to estimate the condition of second-hand goods from images using machine learning methods. Assuming that the condition evaluation of second-hand goods has a relationship with the damage that exists in them, we proposed and verified a method to estimate the condition of second-hand goods based on information of the damage. In this study, we chose men's dress shoes for condition evaluation and chose four types of damage: wrinkles, worn out of heel, dirt on outsole, dirt on inside as damage considered to be related to condition evaluation. (1)We create a CNN model that determines the presence or absence of damage, and (2) create a classification tree model that evaluates the state of the product from information on the presence or absence of damage and (3)We evaluated the condition of second-hand goods by combining two created models. As a result of verification, it was shown that the proposed method could evaluate the condition of used goods.</p>

<p>This paper proposes a scheme for imposing geometrical constraints in topology optimization to obtain structures considering the visibility of the product user, based on a fictitious physical model. First, a level set-based topology optimization method is concisely introduced, and geometrical requirements for the visibility are clarifid. A fictitious physical model described by a steady-state advection-dffusion equation is then constructed based on the requirements. In this model, virtual heat sources correspond to material domains and the advection direction is aligned with a radial direction around a view point. The visibility is evaluated by the values of the fictitious physical model, and the regions to see, where the value of the fictitious physical field is high, represent blind area. Next, an optimal problem is introduced based on the fictitious physical model. Finally, in the numerical examples, the proposed method yields optimal structure considering the visibility, confirming the validity and the utility of the proposed method.</p>

In the previous study, the swimmer mannequin, which reproduces the 3D body shape of an athlete swimmer with high fidelity and can perform three degrees-of-freedom motion, was developed, and the fluid force acting on the swimmer mannequin was measured. In this study, the unsteady fluid force acting on the swimmer mannequin was modeled. The formulation of the swimming human simulation model SWUM, which the authors have already developed, was used for the fluid force model. Three fluid force coefficients in the model were determined using the optimizing calculation so that the discrepancy between the simulated fluid force and experimental one became minimum. Further, the unified coefficients were determined by taking the averages of the values for all the trials. Using the unified determined fluid force coefficients, the comparisons between the simulated fluid forces and the experimental ones were carried out. It was found that the simulation could reproduce the experimental characteristics with respect to the time fluctuation.

Vibration modes measurement and an analysis method on the partially stiffened cylindrical shell with attached mass which contains liquid partially in it, were developed. Since it was measured that the harmonic numbers of circumferential vibration modes of the liquid filled lower part is different from that of the empty upper one, a finite strip method, which is taken into account the geometrical stiffness of hoop stress due to the contained liquid, partial mass and stiffness by attached elements, was developed. As a result, experimental natural frequencies that the harmonic numbers changes along axis are good agreement to those by analysis.

The swimming motions of animals are quite interesting and useful from the viewpoint of science and engineering. Three dolphin-like robots and a swimming humanoid which were developed by the author's group were introduced in this paper. The dolphin-like robots of Type 1 and Type 2 were developed in order to investigate the performance of the steady straight swimming. Type 1 had one air motor to actuate the caudal fm and one passive joint at the root of the fin. The total length of the robot was 1.75m. The maximum swimming speed of 1.15m/s and the maximum propulsive efficiency of 65% were achieved. Type 2 had the similar structure with Type 1 although the main joint was actuated by an electric motor whose maximum power was 7.4kW. The maximum swimming speed of 1.9m/s was achieved. Type 3 was developed in order to investigate the performance of the maneuverability. A loop-the-loop motion and three-dimensional motion in the water were realized. The swimming humanoid was developed for research of human swimming. It had 20 motors inside and the body size was half of an actual competitive swimmer. The swimming motion in a circulating water tank and the free swimming in a swimming pool were realized, respectively.

<p>This research is aimed at the ordinary family type cleaning robot to carry on the transformation. There are still a lot of problems with the common household cleaning robot. The biggest problem is that it can't clean the narrow area. This research is trying to solve this problem.</p>

<p>There are some reports about effects of traditional dances in each country which have been utilized for health program mainly for elderly. However, few studies tried to organize knowledge about effects of the traditional dances on mind and body which was obtained through previous studies and practices. Therefore, this study gathered text data about case examples of utilizing the traditional dances for physical and mental health maintenance and promotion mainly from academic papers. Keywords characterizing the effects of the traditional dances were identified by morphological analysis on the text data and extracting frequent words. In addition, the effects were classified into some categories by data clustering based on appearance patterns of the keywords. Considering the results of text mining and various characteristics such as body movements and expressions of each traditional dance, influencing factors on psychological and physical effects were discussed.</p>

In recent years,high functionality and complication of stage-controls are increasing.Not only caught and involved,but also falls form high places occur.In this research,taking up safety of stage-control,investigate expressly "lift".In this report,I consider about safety in the show by professional actors.The works in the stage is prefecture to 6 divisions.At the play,it needs not only to prevent critical injury,but also keep the show go on.But it is limited to apply safety equipment in the stage.So the risk by using lift is commissioned to actors,and it is condition that their dangerous failure does not cause a critical injury.In this guarantee,the actors must stop the play before the incident as interlocking.And not to stop the play,they have to increase reliability by the practice.In the practice,it is need to commission safety control step by step within the limit of the actor's ability,so that they can practice safety.

Falling to Stage lift is a critical injury, so that it must be prevented without experience. To avoid an injury of falling, actors must assure safety by active control. Active control is purpose, regulation, and stop control. To keep show go on, it is required for actors to stop performance before falling. And to avoid stop performance, regulate their position not to access the stage lift. Based on these controls, actors can performance, achieving the purpose. To acquire this control, actors have to practice. And the situation of practice and real running is distinguished clearly because safety measures can be applied on one side, and cannot on other. And control of actors includes a dangerous failure comes from human property. It is must to prevent a critical injury comes from their dangerous failure. To that, it is need to disperse energy, and we purpose a device using both of permanent magnet electromagnet as an example. Because friction force from magnet is constant, it can definitely determine force to depend on the human body.

Creep properties of Ni-YSZ cermet, which were for the anode of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs), were studied to evaluate the influence of the volume ratio of Ni in the cermet to creep properties. Specimens with three Ni volume ratios were prepared, and creep test was performed by 4 points bending configuration. The obtained creep curves showed clear tendencies in transition creep and steady-state creep regions. As Ni increased, both steady-state strain rate and the strain of transition creep increased. These results suggested that Ni in the microstructure of Ni-YSZ cermet played a certain role to determine the creep properties. However, comparison with the creep properties in Ni metal, both properties were significantly low. Hence, it was also suggested the importance of YSZ framework to creep properties.

<p>In this paper, impression words of surfboards and surfing were obtained by interviewing to some pro surfers and armature surfers who have long time experiences. As mechanical properties of samples of center fins for a long board, weights and sizes of part were measured. Strain for bending tests were also measured as flexibility of the samples. A pro surfer and armature surfers who have rich and long experiences of surfing tested the samples with a same long board, but subjective evaluations were not fit the mechanical flexibilities.</p>

<p>In this study, we considered a method to extract a hammering sound in noise environment by removing the noise component using noise transfer function for carrying out correct inspection of the target construction. In the first experiment, hammering test was performed using two tiles (defective and normal tiles) with or without loud white noise from a speaker. Through the proposed method using two microphones (single response and reference microphones), the hammering sound could be extracted well as the sound without noise. Subsequently, another hammering test was carried out when a drone was operated as an instance of the driving noise. However, the method using two microphones could not extract the hammering sound accurately. Then, the number of the reference microphone was increased from one to four to catch the generated noise of each rotating blade. As the result, the hammering sound difference between normal and defective tiles could be grasped better.</p>

In 3D printing methods such as FDM, the direction of printing dominates the appearance and the nature of the printed objects. However, the direction cannot be specified in conventional 3D-printing methods. In this presentation, methods for designing and printing direction-specified 3D objects and the advantages of these methods are described.

<p>The purpose of this study is to make observations of the behavior of fatigue damages at a CFRP surface. Matrixcracks called transverse crack, splitting and delamination in a CFRP are occurred under fatigue loading. Generally Ultrasonic Test (UT) and X-ray Test are used for CFRP inspection. However, it has been known that the inspection on a CFRP surface with UT is a task of extreme difficulty. And X-ray Test is expensive. So,we applied Fluorescent Penetrant Test to a woven CFRP surface with fatigue damages. As the result, matrixcracks are detected during the cyclic tensile test. In addition , it was also found that splitting in terms of woven CFRP were formed 45° direction cracks look like the edge of a saw.</p>

Chuhachi Ninomiya, who didn't have access to information about airplane development in Europe and America, succeeded independently in flying a miniature aircraft which resembled a crow. This flight took place 12 years prior to the Wright brothers' success. And he also conceived an aircraft design resembling a jewel beetle. His achievement should be valued more highly. However, his name is not well-known even in Japan, and likewise his name is not present in world aviation history. Approaches to evaluating the achievements of Ninomiya more fairly and to ensure his name become present in world aviation history are examined.

Thermal fatigue failure of pipes induced by fluid temperature change is one of interdisciplinary issues for long term structural reliability. In this work a special focus was put on the effect of thermal and loading histories on high cycle fatigue crack growth behavior. In order to get basic understanding on this article the fatigue crack propagation tests were carried out in a low alloy steel which experienced several kind of loading and/or thermal histories. Both the effects of stress ratio, test temperature on the fatigue crack threshold, and the change in the threshold depending on the thermo-mechanical loading histories, were experimentally investigated. It was shown that the thermo-mechanical loading history left its effect along the prior fatigue crack wake resulting in the change of fatigue crack threshold. Some discussions are made on how this type of loading history effect should be treated from engineering point of view.
