The bending angles of warp and weft yarns in the cloth on loom were measured. The results were compared with a theory on shrinkage of cloth. When the weft yarn tension was kept constant, the warp bending angles decreased and the weft bending angles increased with the increase of warp tension on loom. The bending angles depended on the yarn count, the flexural rigidity of yarn, and the configuration of yarn deformed by the lateral load. The theory well explained these results.

Influence of the catalyst, solvent and temperature on the fibrous acetalization of polyvinyl alcohol with cyclohexanone was studied. As cyclohexanone is insoluble in water, mixtures of water and methanol were used as a solvent. Degree of acetalization was higher when methanol concentration and temperature of reaction was low. But it was difficult to obtain higher degree of acetalization than 30mol%.<br>Boiling water resistence of the obtained fibers were not sufficient.

The micro-printing technology which cannot be read with the n aked eyes is used as one of the imitation preventive measures. We p reviously developed the laser mark ing fiber by kneading the coloring pigments to polyester resin. Using this fiber, the irradiation conditions of YAG laser were examined and the best marking condition was found. It was expected the laser marking fiber which was marked original products info rmation was used effectively to p revent imitation.

8種類のアミノデオキシセルロースと6-アミノ-6-デオキシデンプンをジメチルホルムアミドーSO<sub>3</sub>錯体で硫酸化して,抗血液凝固剤として有名なヘパリンに類似した構造をもつ,酸性ムコ多糖同族体を合成した。生成物のイオウ含有量は,原料の窒素含有量に無関係に10~12%で,これは硫酸基の置換度がほぼ1に該当する。ただし6-アミノ-6-デオキシセルロースは例外で,その硫酸化に対する反応性は非常に低く,イオウ含有量は約7%であった。またこの原料の選択的N-硫酸化をピリジンーSO<sub>3</sub>錯体で行うと,約半分のアミノ基が反応し,イオウ含有量は約4%であった。さらにこれらの生成物の赤外吸収スペクトルを測定し,比較険討した。

We propose a modeling method of a human body for dress simulation using computer graphics. The body is modeled by primitives called metaballs which are useful for representing smooth surfaces. The method proposed here has two phases: In the first phase, we generate a human body model by adjusting the input of the metaballs by hand based on measured data obtained by the range data. In the second phase, the standard human model is deformed to other size bodies based on the range data. That is, once a standard human model is generated, various body types can be easily obtained. In the previous work, approximation precision was not enough sufficient. Our method can generate a human body with a small degree of error by using the following procedures: 1) metaballs are roughly set on the cross sections obtained by data sliced from the range data; these cross sections are selected so that they include special features such as nipple and waist point, 2) the metaballs on each slice are optimized by using the Steep Decent Method, 3) After combining these metaballs on slices, total metaballs are optimized using the Steep Decent Method again. In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, we show two examples of metaball human bodies based on the range data; a standard body model and a fat body model are deformed from it.
