『源氏物語』五四帖は誰の手によって書かれたものであろうか。匂宮三帖、とりわけ竹河巻は古来より他の巻とは別筆ではないかと疑われてきた。最近ではこの論争は沈静化されているが、本稿では敢えてこの問題に取り組んでみた。 研究史の中には物語内の語彙の用法に着目して、その用法の違いを分析することにより、別筆説を導き出そうとする作業もあるが、本稿は語彙そのものに焦点を当てた。﹃源氏物語﹄は、その場の自然の状況や登場人物の心の動きなどを表現するために、実に多彩な複合語を駆使していて、それらの複合語は源氏以前には用例のない源氏固有の造語が多い。これらの固有語を調べ出して、その造語方法の特徴や巻ごとの分布などを把握して、竹河巻の語彙と比較した。果たして別筆の可能性はありやなしや。Many researchers of The Tale of Genji have long suspected the writer of "Takekawa" could not be Murasaki Shikibu, because the writing style in "Takekawa" is poor and childish, and the story of "Takekawa" is not possible. Recently, students of Genji have chosen not to take up this question because of the difficulties involved, but, in this paper, I attempt to answer this question by examining special words, namely, those words that were not found in The Tale of Genji. Murasaki Sikibu created many new words in The Tale of Genji. In this paper, I find all of the special words in Genji and compare them with the special words of "Takekawa". In doing so, I am convinced that this is an innovative way of dealing with the problem of identifying the author of the latter.

In order to investigate the factors inhibiting the growth of rotifer (S-type) in high density cultivation, a series of experiments were conducted, cultivating rotifer in 30l and 1kl vessels by feeding condensed Chlorella. Although there was no difference in the maximum population of rotifer in the culture experiments at different temperatures of 24, 28, and 32°C, the growth rate increased as the culture temperature increased. In the cultivation system supplied with air, the maximum rotifer population did not exceed 4, 000-5, 000 individuals/ml because oxygen levels were restricted due to the accumulation of undissociated ammonia. Feeding oxygen gas to the rotifer culture system enabled high density cultivation with a population of 20, 000 individuals/ml. In such an oxygen-rich culture system, the concentration of undissociated ammonia is considered to be the main factor inhibiting the growth of rotifer.

In a high density culture of rotifer (beyond the levels of 10<sup>3</sup>ind./m<i>l</i>), the amount of aeration needed to maintain an optimum dissolved oxygen (DO) level increases. In order to investigate the effect of aeration on the population growth of rotifer, a series of experiments were carried out. The S-type rotifer <i>Brachionus rotundiformis</i> was cultured at high density using 10<i>l</i> vessels under different aeration conditions. Air or oxygen gas was introduced into the culture media through two types of sparger which formed different sizes of bubbles, at aeration rates from 0.1 to 2.0vvm. The bubble-size from the two kinds of sparger were estimated from the value of <i>KLa</i> (volumetric oxygen transfer coefficient). When the aeration rate was high or the ceramic sparger that formed smaller bubbles was used, DO in the culture system remained at a high level. However, under these conditions, the growth of the rotifer population was seriously inhibited due to very high aeration rates and small bubbles, possibly as a result of foaming separation. When oxygen gas was introduced into the culture system, the density of rotifer was higher than that when air was introduced. Therefore, it is recommended to introduce high-purity oxygen gas for a high density culture to avoid any growth inhibition and to maintain optimum DO.

様々な置換基を持つ一連のフレロピロリジン誘導体(1)について,密度汎関数理論を使った電子状態計算をおこなった.その結果,(1)をアクセプターとするポリチオフェンベースの太陽電池の開放端電圧が,(1)のLUMOエネルギーと比較的強い正の相関を示すことが分かった.このことは,上記太陽電池の光起電力生成過程がバルクへテロジャンクション機構に支配されていることを示唆している.
