The palace of Bonos was founded by Romanes I Lekapenos as his summer residence. This palace is now lost to us and the information on it were delivered only through literary sources. This study re-examines the literary sources and tries to find out the characteristic features of the palace. In this palace, the courtyard or 'Aule' was used as the ceremonial space, and the palace church (St. Constantine) was facing the 'Aule'. Therefore the courtyard or 'Aule' might be the functional core of this palace. And the situation of the palace, on the north slope of 'the fourth Hill' in Constantinople, is ideal for a summer residence.

This paper examines the contemporary descriptions on the church of Hagios Mokios in Constantinople, which is now lost to us, in the architectural, liturgical and social aspects. In the 8th century Constantine the Great was regarded as the legendary founder of this church and the legend of the foundantion brought the martyr's cult a certain change in the religious and social position in the capital. "De Ceremoniis", the ceremonial book in the 10th century informs us a imperial ceremony in this church. Through the description of "De Ceremoniis", the church of Hagios Mokios could be one of a typical basilica.

Through the analysis of the religious functions, this study tries to examine the social position of the church of the Holy Apostles in Constantinople, which is now lost to us. Many litereatures consider, this church should be dedicated to the Apostles. But the analysis of "Typikon of the Great Church", the liturgical source of the 10th century, eveals the strong ties between the reliques of the saints, which stored in this church, and their memorial feasts, for example St. Luke, St. Andrew and St. Timothy or some important bishops such as John Chrysostome and Gregory Nazianze. Against the precedent studies, the hierarchy of the saints does not play important roll.
