In the current immersive VR system, the motion of the virtual body that the user operates is limited to what can be performed in real body, since the natural real body motion is generally used as a system input. Therefore, in this research, we propose the concept of “Motion-Less VR” which is an immersive VR interface that does not require the real body motion. The interface is consisted of the functions which are; sensing joint torque while the real body is mechanically restrained, calculating virtual motion through forward dynamics, and presenting motion information. As a first step, we developed a basic system and potential feasibility was evaluated.

The authors propose a VR system called “Motion-Less VR”, which does not require motion of the real body. In this paper, we developed a system that enables 2-DoF motion of the shoulder and elbow, and basic experiments were conducted.

現実に様々な経験を体験している人(実体験者)の感覚情報を記録・送信し,それを体験者が体験した状態(体勢)で,再生することによって,実体験者の経験を仮想的に追体験できる.これを我々は体験共有と呼んでいる.全ての感覚を伝えることが理想であるが,当面,視覚・聴覚による体験共有を目指し,実体験者用のヘッドマウンテッドカメラと姿勢センサ,追体験者用のヘッドマウンテッドディスプレイから構成される,体験共有システム試作機を開発中である.本発表では,体験共有技術について紹介し,追体験者の手と実体験者の手や追体験者の手のCG表示との間の投射・異投射について述べる.さらに,体験共有における投射・異投射について本格的実験を行うための,体験共有システム試作機を用いた準備的な評価実験の結果を報告する.

This paper proposes an electrocardiogram (ECG) measuring system which simultaneously enables the reduction of input impedance and low-frequency cutoff through virtual amplification of the coupling capacitance formed by body capacitance and ECG electrode. This virtual amplification of the coupling capacitance is realized by the additional circuit which controls the inflow of external current to create the situation as if the time constant of the capacitance has increased. Moreover, not only this additional function but the amplification circuits commonly used in ECG measuring system has also been perfectly tuned-up. Here, instead of using the MOS-FET which shows bad noise characteristics, the combinations of J-FET differential amplifier and current feedback circuit have been used for stable amplification. In addition, coupling capacitors of the system are removed due to the DC-Coupling enabled by using single operational amplifiers instead of instrumentation operational amplifiers.

Recently, wireless charging via magnetic resonance coupling has gained attention because it has the potential of efficient midrange wireless charging. Here, functions such as sensing at the transmitter and wireless communication from the target are the essential elements to realize a standard wireless charging system. Currently, the sensing and communication protocol of the hardware (i.e., the high-frequency power source and antenna configuration) compatible with wireless charging is gaining attention in terms of its cost and space reduction due to the use of common components for multiple functions. However, this protocol has the problem of narrow effective areas due to the fact that the sensing range depends on the fixed Q factor of the antenna. To overcome this problem, the concept of wide-area sensing based on a Q controllable antenna is proposed, and the effectiveness is verified through a theoretical analysis and an experiment. As a result, it is clarified that the effective area can be expanded up to a ratio of the distance g between the transmitting and receiving antennas to the inner diameter d of the antenna g/d =5.0.

Immersive virtual reality system has a problem that the operability deteriorates if the shape of the virtual body is parted from the real body. The authors are assuming that this is caused by misfit of the body scheme, an internal model in the brain used to recall the body position, because it is initially tuned up to the real body instead of virtual body. Thus, the authors have proposed a method using VR technology called“ Body Scheme Calibration ”to change the body scheme adapting to the real body so as to fit the virtual body. However, in the previous approach, presented VR information was limited to visual information, and haptic information normally occurring from interaction with surrounding object was neglected. Therefore, this paper investigated the effect of haptic information on Body Scheme Calibration. As an experimental result, it was verified that the effect of additional haptic information is trivial, and the complex haptic interface for this calibration might be omissible.
