We propose a new measure of semantic similarity between words in context, which exploits the syntactic/semantic structure of the context surrounding each target word. For a given pair of target words and their sentential contexts, labeled directed graphs are made from the output of a semantic parser on these sentences. Nodes in these graphs represent words in the sentences, and labeled edges represent syntactic/semantic relations between them. The similarity between the target words is then computed as the sum of the similarity of walks starting from the target words (nodes) in the two graphs. The proposed measure is tested on word sense disambiguation and paraphrase ranking tasks, and the results are promising: The proposed measure outperforms existing methods which completely ignore or do not fully exploit syntactic/semantic structural co-occurrences between a target word and its neighbors.

Experimentally, a rubber cord seems to have characteristics of a string on one hand, and of a beam on the other. Equation of motion with a term of damping was introduced as for a rubber cord. Then the solution was compared with the results of experiments, and the dynamical characteristics of rubber obtained as rubber vibration isolators were taken into account. 1) Vibration of rubber cord with a concentrated mass. Linear vibration with one degree of freedom was assumed. Elastic modulus E calculated from this experiment was compared with static modulus. Values of E are thought to be adequate when the ratio between dynamic and static moduli is taken into consideration. 2) Torsional vibration of rubber cord. Shear modulus G^- calculated in the same way was compared with the static shear modulus. 3) Free damped vibration of rubber cord. A term of damping was added to an ordinary equation of string. Results of experiments could be explained by an equation ∂2y/∂t2=a2(∂2y/∂x2)-2c(∂/∂t)(∂2y/∂x2), when an effective value of tension was taken into account.

6歳齢,避妊雌のメイン・クーンの両耳介と外耳道に暗青色を呈した丘疹と結節を多数認め,耳道は狭窄していた。これら皮疹は幼少よりみられ,徐々に拡大した。病理組織学的検査で耳垢腺の拡張と内腔分泌物の貯留を認めた。全身症状はなく,血液検査の異常も認められなかった。以上よりFeline ceruminous cystomatosisと診断した。0.05%クロルヘキシジン液による洗浄とオフロキサシン・ケトコナゾール・トリアムシノロンアセトニド配合薬の点耳により,1年後に明らかな改善を認めた。<br>

一般的に依存構造解析のアルゴリズムでは,句構造を扱わないために並列構造を考慮することが難しい.そこで,依存構造解析のための Eisner アルゴリズムを,並列構造解析ができるように拡張した.その規則の導出木は,既存の依存構造のアノテーションから導出することができる.

コーパスから抽出した文脈情報により作成する専門用語グラフに対し,グラフを辿ることで節点間の類似度を計算する手法を適用し,類義語獲得に応用した.雑誌 「蛋白質・核酸・酵素」 をコーパスとして用いた実験で,コーパスでの出現頻度が少ない専門用語をクエリとして与えた場合,ラプラシアン拡散カーネル行列を用いた手法が比較的高い精度を示した.この結果は,専門性の高いレアな用語を既存のシソーラスに登録する場面において,ラプラシアン行列ベースの手法の有効性を示唆するものである.We apply graph-based methods to problems of biomedical synonym acquisition. Given a graph of biomedical terms constructed from a corpus, the methods calculate term similarities by traversing the graph to capture shared features between nodes. An experimental study shows that, for query terms appearing less than three times in the corpus, the Laplacian diffusion kernel gives better accuracy than the methods based on the adjacency matrix.

本研究では事態の事実性解析に焦点をあてる。テキストに記述されるすべての事態を対象にした情報抽出を行う上で、事実性解析は述語項構造解析とともに必須の技術といえるが、これまでのところ、十分には研究されていない。本稿では、事実性解析の応用例としてブログ記事からの経験抽出を想定し、そのための事実性解析を時間情報、極性、話者態度の観点から抽象化する枠組みを提案する。また、ブログ記事を対象とする予備実験についても報告する。In this paper we concentrate on the analysis of the events in terms of factuality. We consider that the identification of factuality is an inevitable step towards practical information extraction after completing the predicate argument structures, however, it has not been studied well up to now. Then, as a case study, we shall propose a framework for examining the factuality of personal experiences in terms of tense, aspect, and mood, and we also give experimental results using Web log texts.
