We have developed the wide range scanning tunneling microscope (STM) to measure surface topography of a diamond turned gold mirror, a gold coated float polished glass surface and so on. Three dimensional positioning of our STM device is achieved not by using a famous piezoelectric tripod, but by monolithic high precision wide ange translation mechanisms, which we call multi-compound parallel spring. One of strong points of this device is that capability of this specially fabricated X-Y stage is to measure over a sample area of 70μm×70μm and is easily cut from a monolith. We have got an information that each diamond tip trace straightness of the turned surface using a high precision air bearing lathe changes noticeably in the portion. This fact shows that we still have to improve not only such manufacturing conditions as tool radius, and the roughness of tool tips but also the surface finish machine environments especially vibrations.

空間2次元同時での分光観測(以下では3次元分光観測と呼ぶ)は、天文観測研究者の究極の夢の一つである。本研究は太陽観測としては初めて真に3次元同時の観測を実現し、太陽活動現象の研究に適用したものである。3次元分光観測の技術としては様々な方法が夜の観測では適用されていた。一方、太陽観測では視野、空間分解能、波長分解能への要求が高く、3次元分光観測の実現は容易ではない。本研究では3次元分光観測の1つの手段であるマイクロレンズ・アレイを用いた方法を太陽観測に適用したものである。観測ではスペクトル線の観測が重要であるが、興味あるスペクトル線(Hαなど)では必要な視野、空間分解能、波長分解能を同時に満たす解があることが示せた。結果、マイクロレンズ・アレイも配列数の多いもの、CCDカメラもピクセル数多いものが必要であるが、今日の技術では十分実現可能であった。得られた光学系の設計解は、世界の多くの太陽観測装置に適用可能のものであり、本研究では米国国立太陽天文台サクラメント・ピーク天文台にて本装置の有用性を確かめることができた。特に空間分解能の高い観測では威力を発揮することが示せた。本研究の成果は、2次元像とスペクトル線プロファイル情報の同時取得により、フィルター観測と分光観測の利点を発揮できる観測法により、太陽観測法の新しい展望が開けた、とまとめることができる。具体的には、(1)本装置は既存の望遠鏡・分光器と組み合わせて容易にインストールすることができ、いろいろな太陽観測所の長所を生かした観測が可能であることを示した。但し、視野が狭いため追尾装置との併用が望ましい。(2)2次元同時分光データより、フィルター観測の長所である単色像を再現でき且つ分光器観測の長所である線輪郭解析が可能であることを示した。

Three cases of colorectal foreign bodies are presented and the literature is reviewed. Case 1: A 47-year-old man, who had inserted a seasoning bottle in his rectum on January 3, was admitted to National Yokosuka Hospital on January 5, 1990. A pelvic x-ray film showed the object in the sigmoid colon, and an emergency operation was performed. The bottle (11cm in length) was removed from the sigmoid colon. The patient was discharged 16 days after the operation without complications. Case 2: A 40-year-old man presented with a self-inserted seasoning bottle in his rectum that he was unable to remove and was admitted to the hospital on July 24, 1990. Edema of the rectum precluded manual removal of the object. At laparotomy, the bottle (7.5cm in length) was removed from the rectum. The patient's postoperative course was good and he was discharged on August 26. Case 3: A 62-year-old man was admitted on December 12, 1990 for evaluation of a one-day history of a foreign body in the anorectum following autoerotic transanal manipulation with a vibrator. The 6×3×3cm object was removed manually after a spinal anesthetic. The patient was discharged on the third postoperative day.
