In order to achieve advanced missions, it is necessary to develop satellite with large aperture reflectors. Tension truss structure is effective for reducing the weight of the antenna. However, the total strain energy of the cables increases with the number of cables. Consequently, a support structure must be sufficiently rigid to prevent deformation of the surface. The reduction of the reflector's weight can be achieved if the tensile force of the cables decreases, while maintaining the required surface accuracy. Therefore, a surface design method in which compression members are located on the cable network instead of tension cables had been proposed. It was found that cable tension can be decreased within the required surface accuracy based on an analytical estimation. However, the cable tension can be changed after an adjustment of the surface accuracy to eliminate manufacturing and assembling errors. In this study, we evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method based on an experiment including an adjustment of the surface accuracy. We measure the surface accuracy and reaction force from a support structure using assembled cable-network models. As a result, the total cable strain energy of the cable network with compression members can be decreased by half of that without compression members.

A great amount of work now has been done upon neighborhood association studies.Characteristics and functions were evaluated empirically, and the need of regional-type sorting based on the differences identified has been heard. Nevertheless, it is not yet clear why neighborhood associations of the same area can have different characteristics, neither has it been fully explained why both developing and declining neighborhood associations occur simultaneously within one neighborhood. This paper applies social capital theory described by James S. Coleman to neighborhood associations. It also describes neighborhood associations as social capital, accumulated collective interactions of the individuals involved. That is to see that sustained viability of neighborhood associations has been much due to rational choices of proactive actors. Further in this thesis, In order to see how individuals make decisions upon their participation, social assets and liabilities constructing social capital, and both expected benefits and costs are also described. Thus two positions of rational choice making are clearly sorted. Conclusively reaching two findings, that characteristic differences of neighborhood associations are due to accumulational level of social capital, and having two positions for initial choice making has a great impact upon bearing simultaneous growing/fading dynamics within one area.

Theileria sergenti感染牛赤血球の浸透圧脆弱性および膜形態の変化について検討した.実験感染牛では,原虫寄生率の増加にともない赤血球浸透圧脆弱性は亢進し,等張域における溶血率は原虫寄生率よりも明かに高い値を示した.この現象は密度勾配分画された各寄生率の赤血球においても同様であった.血清浸透圧は感染牛,潟血牛ともほぼ一定の値で推移した.走査型電子顕微鏡による観察の結果,重篤時の牛の赤血球は変形し,ほとんどの赤血球はEchinocyteの状態に陥っていることが判明した.またEchinocyteの比率は原虫寄生率よりも著しく高い値を示した.同様の現象は小型ピロプラズマ病重篤時の放牧牛においても認められた.以上の成績から,赤血球の浸透圧脆弱性と膜形態の異常はT. sergenti寄生赤血球のみならず,非寄生赤血球においても起きていることが示唆された.

A tapered coil spring is the one whose wire diameter isn't constant and continuously changes. The spring possesses the non-linear stiffness which increases with increasing the load applied. Although its application is the axle spring for railway car because of passively changing the stiffness under the applied load that relates the number of passengers, making formula is difficult due to the gradually diameter change of tapered wires. Finite element method has often been applied to the analysis of mechanics for the springs and it should be found the appropriate end turn shape of the springs for real deformation of the coil and we found the optimized end turn for constant deformation. The stiffness of the spring follows the approximate formula on each region in different diameter before contact between wires and the formula on the region of thick wire after contact. The stiffness of the spring actually could be determined for varying the pitch and predicted using finite element method.

1) 日本の医学生が臨床実習中に受ける不当な待遇 (medical student abuse) に関する報告はこれまでされていなかった.2) 日本の医学生を対象にしたわれわれの調査では, 回答者の68.5%が, 何らかのmedical student abuseを臨床実習中に受けたと報告した.3) 臨床実習においては, 指導医の「neglectやdisregard」があると学生の実習意欲を顕著にそぐことが回答者の意見から推測できた.4) 医学教育の関係者はmedical student abuseに注意を払い, 防止策を講じる必要がある.
