We investigated team medicine in emergency medical services by utilizing two distinctive research methodologies: human trajectories and conversation analysis. Our intention was to promote shared medicine within critical medical care and to foster the on-site education of medical students. We collected human trajectory data and conversational data during an actual medical procedure in an emergency room and then analyzed it with an analytical tool we developed that enable us to combine and analyze these different types of data simultaneously. In this paper, we describe the basic configuration of the software we developed and discuss how we applied it to the analysis of actual communication during the medical procedure.

We introduce a non-photorealistic rendering technique for generating indian-ink drawing-like images from photographs. Indian-ink drawing-like images have a touch different from the traditional chinese-ink painting. In this letter, indian-ink drawing-like images are generated with inverse bilateral filter and an idea of unsharp mask. In order to evaluate the performance of our method for generating indian-ink drawing-like images, we conduct experiments using some example images.

In conventional methods of dividing peakes in histograms, in advance, we have to know the number of peaks in a histgram. By using the weighted sequential fuzzy cluster extraction whose condensation is redefined for dividing peaks in histograms, we can divide peaks when the number of them is unknown.

皆既日食というと通常は,月が太陽を隠すために見ることができるコロナやダイヤモンドリングに関心が集まるが,実際に観測地に行って感動するのは,そこが月の影の中に入ることで起こる天変地異を連想する光景である.われわれは,2009年7月22日に奄美大島で起こった皆既日食を,魚眼レンズを装着した4K映像システムを使って,現地の風景を丸ごと記録し,その映像を遠隔地のドームスクリーンに投影する実験を行い,月の影の再現に成功し,これまでにない臨場感の高い日食中継を実現した.

Wearing cosmetics or makeup has important implications for human. However, it is very hard for visually impaired people to apply make-up because the process of making up their face requires visual contacts. We propose a wind pressure display that shows the given position of the face. The proposed system takes a face image of the person using a camera installed in front of the person, and determines a given position such as the makeup spot in the image. Then, wind pressure provides the necessary position on the face to the person so they can effectively apply the necessary makeup. We measured two point thresholds of the wind pressure display in our experiment. Moreover, the position presentation on the face using the proposed system was also evaluated. The results of these experiments showed the proposed system could effectively present the necessary position on the face.

To display 3D images on a computer-generated hologram, you need to have a very high resolution hologram-recording system. We developed a CD-R. (Compact Disk-Recordable) drive to record CGH data on CD-R disks, that have a high resolution and a dot size of 1.5μm. By using this drive, it is possible to make holograms inexpensively in a short-time without the need for special environments, such as dark rooms, clean rooms, etc. The drive realizes desktop holograrning that can handle all CGH process including model making, hologram calculations, and hologram recordings on a personal computer. In this paper, we describe the system and discuss the hologram-calculation method adapted for CD-R disks.
