It is well known that disaster areas have special social contracture after the disaster occurs. However, the existing literature has dealt with changes in the local community after a disaster. In other words, few researchers have studied tourists who happen to experience disasters. This study discusses from various standpoints, condolence for tourists who have experienced disasters, through interviews of the impacted people, bereaved, and members of the Phuket Japanese Association.
1 0 0 0 OA 神戸市の東灘区青木(おうぎ)不発弾処理における対応の分析
The on-site processing of the unexploded bomb discovered in Higashinada, Kobe, which had been done on March 4, 2007 consisted of various measures. Most of them are similar countermeasures for crisis or disaster management. Government of Kobe City regarded a study of the process as a telling blow to work out their disaster response manuals. It made problems clear through the on-site staffs' opinions and analyses of document materials and completed the systematic after-action report "A Report of the On-site Processing of the Unexploded Bomb Discovered in Higashinada, Kobe". The aim of this thesis is to pigeonhole the on-site process and countermeasures.
The earthquake (M7.0) occurred in the Miyagi Pref. offing on May 26, 2003. No serious damage to the people, and Tsunami was not observed. However, damages to buildings and structures were reported as follows; 4 fires, destruction of houses (2 complete, 21 half, and 2,342 partial), electric power disruption in approximately 36,000 households, and liquefaction of soil. Based on our investigation and interviewing, this paper reports the outline of fires occurred in Miyagi pref. due to this earthquake, and, focuses in detail on the fire of a transformer substation.

This paper presents a study of proper notification method of the Earthquake Early Warning(EEW) which is firstly announced from Japan Meteorological Agency. The EEW is epoch-making technology in the sense of knowing a big earthquake before the ground starts shaking. It is important that most people have to know the EEW immediately in order to defend themselves before shaking. Public notification of the EEW needs quickness and simplicity. Organizing the working group, we have developed two notification articles for the EEW, one is the signal sound and the other is the pictogram. By using these articles in the trial systems of the EEW notification, it is clear that the short warning is made intelligibly. Furthermore the simple sound and the pictogram are effective in the education of earthquake disaster prevention.

Fukuoka west offshore earthquake occurred on March 20th, 2005. We built the GIS portal site using post-event consequence of the restoration and revival support GIS project of the Chuetsu Earthquake. This project also aims sharing information and grasping situation summary in Fukuoka city area affected by earthquake by cooperation of external resources. We could launch the GIS portal site of Fukuoka west offshore earthquake within two week after the shock. This project illustrated the way using GIS navigated by efforts of the Chuetsu Earthquake.
We conducted time series analysis of household economy data covering an 11-year-period from 1989 to 1999 in Kobe severely damaged in the 1995 Hyogo-ken-nanbu, Japan, earthquake Data were collected from the annual reports of the Family Income and Expenditure Survey published by the statistics Bureau of Japan We identified four income and eight outgo items that showed statistically significant changes between pre-earthquake six years, 1989-1994, and 1995 Also, we estimated earthquake-related extra expenditure paid by households with three different levels of housing damage of demolished, repaired, and non-damaged An estimate of extra payments paid by households for purchasing or constructing new housing was obtained at 29 million Japanese yen.

In this study, It proposed four kinds as a rescue signature for the helicopter. In the disaster in the future, a lot of isolation villages in the ravine region and the coast region are assumed. The helicopter is used there for the information gathering. Then, it proposed the medical treatment necessary signature, the dead signature, the needed rescue signature, and the needed eating and drinking signature as a rescue signature. The needed medical treatment signature made it correspond to the color of the triage tag.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the uses of the space satellite data for disaster management. The prototype of the volcanic disaster information system was constructed by using a Google Earth^<TM> Mapping Service, which has excellent performance of processing the image and altitude data.
