An invasion prevention plan against wild badgers (Meles meles) was designed for a field of cultivated strawberries. Badgers climbed nets using their claws and caused damage in the object field in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, in 2003. After the invasions recurred in 2004, the animal was judged to have been a badger. Subsequently, appropriate netting material that corresponded to the badger's invasion behavior was selected and a method of constructing a defense net was devised: a corrugated plate was placed in the ground of the strawberry field. No invasions occurred during the fruiting period in May 2005, suggesting that this net system was an effective countermeasure. The system completely prevented agricultural damage. Defensive measures against damage by meso-carnivores such as badgers include those that protect against digging animals, climbing animals, and scrambling animals. Against the former, the corrugated plate was effective. Against the latter two, slippery netting material was effective.

現在文化活動としてのストリートダンスは計画者の意図と異なり、都市空間を私的に利用する形で表出している。公共空間を私的利用しているストリートダンサーはしばしば「不良」のように問題視されてしまっている。しかし、このような状況下においてもストリートダンスは都市空間のいたる所で出没し活動を続けている。これは成熟した都市である東京首都圏が、新たな文化活動としてのストリートダンスを空間的・社会的に何らかの形で受容していると考えられる。本研究ではストリートダンスにおいて象徴的な活動場所である損保ジャパンビルを中心に利用しているダンサーを対象に、二次・三次的な活動場所の利用実態の分析を通して、首都圏において持続して活動を行う為の空間的・社会的要素について明らかする。これにより現代のような空間管理社会における文化活動が根付く為の公共空間のあり方について新しい視座を与える。

Trapnell & Campbell (1999) によれば,私的自己意識は反芻と省察に分けられ,前者は抑うつと関連する非適応的な自己意識,後者は精神衛生に貢献する適応的な自己意識とされている。本研究では,これらの2つの私的自己意識と抑うつ,およびストレスの因果関係を探るため,大学生を対象に,素因ストレスモデルに基づいて縦断調査を行なった。階層的重回帰分析の結果,反芻の主効果および反芻とストレスの交互作用が2週間後の抑うつを有意に予測した。このことから,反芻は抑うつの脆弱性要因であると考えられる。一方の省察は,私的自己意識の一種でありながら抑うつとの関連が見られなかった。この結果は省察が適応的な自己注目であることを積極的に支持するものではないが,省察のようなある種の自己注目により,否定的な感情を強めることなく自己制御が可能であることを示していると考えられる。

When we discuss the Japanese Constitution, many people primarily take Article 9. Moreover, when discuss Article 9, Japanese people are concerned with the existence of the SDF and its significance. The Constitution holds fast to the basic principle of pacifism, but it is very clear that the SDF is the Forces even if the Japanese Government explains that it is a nonmilitary organization. There is a definite contradiction between the Government explanations and the circumstances in the SDF various activities. Japanese people passed through Hanshin-Awaji earthquake (1995) and East Japan earthquake (2011). In the two earthquakes and PKO activities, the SDF accomplished a great remarkable achievement. In this article, I will consider the Japanese national security with special reference to the particular trend of interpretation about Article 9 and the SDF.

A major operational problem in increasing pulverized coal rate and decreasing coke rate must be the increased pressure drop or the worsened gas permeability at the lower part of the blast furnace. In order to decrease the pressure drop at the blast furnace cohesive zone (CZ) under low coke rate operation, this study has focused on mixed coke charging in the ore layer. Results obtained by numerical analysis and experiments are as follows:(1) Numerical analysis using DEM (Discrete Element Method) clarified the change in the cohesive ore bed structure with mixed coke charging and the formation conditions of gas path in the bed. Also, DEM-CFD (DEM and Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis enabled us to find a gas permeability improvement mechanism and an optimum coke mixing ratio for different CZ conditions before applying the technology.(2) Experiments in blast furnace hot model demonstrated the decreased pressure drop at the CZ by mixed coke charging in the ore layer. The experimental results abided by the numerical analysis results.

In this paper, we implement a new style of manufacturing education on the basis of internships with local businesses as well as by using an interactive skills transfer and skill training system. Our system integrates virtual reality (VR) technology and information communications technology (ICT) which were developed at Saitama University. We have created an interactive technology and skills-sharing network linking the knowledge resources and technical resources of our university with the skill resources of local businesses. Our objective is for our students to learn the skills of the local businesses and their business needs and to be able to effectively acquire knowledge and skills for manufacturing. We report our findings from performing practical training that uses specialized knowledge acquired from lectures combined with VR technology with the objective to provide students with more thorough skills. Our undergraduate curriculum provides practical education that links experiments, practical training, and lectures, in mechanical engineering experiments, mechanical engineering seminars, mechanical engineering practical training, and internships.

モノビジョン法に基づく屈折矯正眼鏡の,後天性の両眼複視に対する軽減効果について報告する.眼筋麻痺による複視に悩む3名の高齢患者にモノビジョン眼鏡を処方した.これらの患者は斜視手術あるいはプリズム眼鏡の適応のない症例であった.眼鏡の屈折度数は,優位眼は遠方視に合わせ,非優位眼は近方視にあわせた.3患者とも眼鏡による複視の軽減を明瞭に自覚できた.1名は外出時には常用したが,2名は随時使用にとどまった.モノビジョン眼鏡は,複視を改善する他の方法では満足できなかった患者には試みられてもよい方法と考えている.

We proposed an advanced mesh generation technique that reuses the proven analysis models by similar sub-part search. The purpose of this research is to reduce interactive mesh improvement work time and to comply with the mesh specifications. It is our feature technique to search sub-parts similar to the archived sub-parts of proven models from new design CAD. In this technique, the similar sub-parts are retrieved from a CAD model described by boundary representation and made correspondence relation surface pairs of a retrieval model (proven model) and a target model (CAD of new design). A similarity score is based on the attributed graphs of a retrieval model and a target model. And, this score is calculated by a geometrical similarity and topological similarity. If there is such search noise, unreusing sub-parts must be canceled by interactive operation. This is an obstacle to automation. Therefore, with the goal of eliminating search noise, we developed a technique to improve the accuracy of similar partial shape retrieval. By quantifying the geometric relationships such as concentric circles and face-to-face distance as similarity, high precision could be realized. It was applied to a door switch cover part of an automobile which is a verification model, and it was confirmed that search noises disappeared.

Jerk-locked back averaging(JLA)は,誘発電位測定装置を用いて測定中に出現したミオクローヌスによって生じる筋収縮をトリガーし,その前後の脳波を加算平均する解析法である。我々は,既に記録したビデオデジタル脳波からJLA解析を行う独自ソフトウエアを開発した。本論文の目的は,このJLA解析ソフトウエアの有用性について検討することである。対象は,Dravet症候群の8か月女児(症例1)と不随運動が認められた11歳5か月女児(症例2)のビデオデジタル脳波とした。JLA解析は,以下の手順に従った。1)ビデオデジタル脳波記録を再生する。2)ミオクローヌス様の不随運動が認められる部分の筋電図の立ち上がりをonsetとする。3)onsetの同位相の前後140 msの脳波を加算平均処理する。症例1は,onsetの約60 ms前に約20~30 μVの陰性波が存在することから皮質性ミオクローヌスが示唆された。しかし,症例2には,有意な脳波変化は認められなかった。ビデオデジタル脳波記録データを用いたJLA解析は,誘発電位測定装置を用いた解析と同様に皮質性ミオクローヌスの診断の補助となり,我々が独自に開発した解析ソフトウエアは,特に測定が難しい小児において有用である。

わが国でも子どもの人工内耳例が増加しているが, その評価はことばの知覚面の改善が中心で, 学校教育上最も重視されるべき言語の問題が等閑に付されてきた。人工内耳は難聴を治す方法ではないだけに, 言語を育てるためにはそのための方法論が必要である。我々は親子のコミュニケーションと情緒の安定を重視し, 人工内耳候補児には術前から補聴器活用に加えて手話や指文字などを導入して, 先ず言語発達を促し, 術後も手話や指文字を禁じることなく活用しながらトップダウン方式で聴覚活用に導く方式をとっている。2002年4月以降24名の重度難聴幼児に人工内耳を装着させ, その後の経過を含めて, この作業を行っていく上でのコーディネーターを中心としたチーム作り, 並びに人工内耳の適応基準について, 我々独自の方法論を述べた。
