トラウマとジェンダーの相互作用を、(1)精神病理的側面から、(2)犯罪行為や逸脱現象の側面から、(3)文化創造的な側面から探り、明らかにした。(1)では海外研究協力者との共同研究や、臨床家、脳科学やジェンダー学等の専門家らによる共同研究会議を実施、トラウマの臨床的課題について検討した。(2)では刑事司法におけるストーカーや性犯罪事件の取り扱い、女性薬物依存症者のトラウマと社会復帰、性労働従事者への暴力について分析した。(3)では参加型アートプロジェクトの実施、参与観察を行い、トラウマからの創造性について考察した。(1)~(3)を統合し、成果を著作やウェブサイト等の形にまとめ、国内外で発表した。

Clinical reports thus far indicate that patients with dissociative disorders exhibit cutaneous sensory symptoms. However, only few studies focused on the relationship between these symptoms and dissociation. Here, we investigated the relationships among cutaneous symptoms (Cutaneous9), somatoform dissociation (SDQ-20), and self-reported history of childhood abuse (CATS) in undergraduates (N=368). Exploratory factor analysis performed simultaneously on the scores of Cutaneous9 and SDQ-20 items, extracted four factors- “Somatic paralysis,” “Perceptual change,” “Cutaneous symptoms,” and “Urogenital symptoms and motor inhibition.” Analysis of variance demonstrated that the group with high CATS scores tends to have high “Somatic paralysis” and “Perceptual change” factor scores, supporting previous findings that these symptoms are relatively common in patients with pathological dissociation, and those with traumatic childhood experiences. These symptoms are considered to be similar to animal defensive reactions that are mediated by endogenous opioids. Moreover, items including “tingling,” “numbness,” and “tender to touch” in Cutaneous9 converged on the “Somatic paralysis” factor together with certain SDQ-20 items, suggesting that these cutaneous symptoms might be associated with pathological tendencies and traumatic childhood experiences.

Affect dysregulation is a highly significant construct among transdiagnostic pathological factors. This review first makes a brief introduction to the historical background of research and practice related to child abuse trauma and dissociation. In preceding studies, complex PTSD resulting from chronic and relational trauma was a focal construct and researchers have already adopted transdiagnostic perspectives. Subsequently, the current state of research on affect dysregulation related to child abuse trauma and dissociation are outlined. Moreover, critical commentary, especially regarding the conceptual and terminological variety and inconsistencies in research on affect dysregulation, is provided. Finally, current issues related to this topic are identified for further exploration.

The Relationship among abusive home environment and dissociative tendency of body and mind, alexithymia tendency, and physical and mental health.This study examines the relationship among abusive home environment, psychological dissociative tendencies, somatoform dissociation and alexithymia tendencies. A sample of 250 university students participated in a questionnaire survey. The results indicate, significantly positive correlations between each scale, with the exception of the subscale in alexithymia tendency as illustrated by previous research. However, when hierarchical multiple regression analysis was conducted as mental and physical symptoms as dependent variables, the effect of psychosomatic dissociation became non-significant. The results of cluster analysis indicate the followings; two groups of healthy (54.3%), three groups of slightly unhealthy (35.9%), and two groups of clearly unhealthy (9.8%), and the least healthy group shows an extremely high level of psychological dissociative tendencies and somatoform dissociation. It can also be noted that those who show highly psychological dissociative symptoms are unhealthy, regardless of the scores of other measures. Having a high score on scales regarding an abusive home environment or alexithymia tendency did not have any prominent signs of being unhealthy.

里親と里子を対象としたアタッチメントに焦点をあてたプログラムを作成し、その有効性の検討を行った。4組の里親と里子を対象に測度と内省報告による検討を行った結果、里子の問題行動の減少と里親のストレス軽減などに肯定的な変化が見られた。さらに、里親のプログラムへの内省報告と里子の行動との関連を検討した結果、プログラムの要素である里親の敏感性の向上と、里子に対する安全感・安心感を高める働きかけによって、里子の里親を安全基地とした自律的な探索行動が促進されたこと、そういった肯定的な変化がアタッチメントに関連する問題行動の減少につながる可能性が示唆された。

トラウマとジェンダーの相互作用を、(1)精神病理的側面から、(2)犯罪行為や逸脱現象の側面から、(3)文化創造的な側面から探り、明らかにした。(1)では複雑性PTSDの分析を行った。性被害に関するシンポジウムの開催、ハンドブックの翻訳・出版を行った。(2)では薬物依存女性のトラウマ被害の影響について論文にまとめた。加害者更生プログラムや修復的司法プログラムについて分析を行った。(3)ではメディア発信・アート表象に関するワークショップを開催した。(1)~(3)を統合し、トラウマの入門書を執筆・出版した。東日本大震災の発生に伴い、そのトラウマについてもジェンダー視点からの研究を行った。
