Unusual situations may occur in railway transportation due to trouble or accidents to affect a number of passengers. Therefore quite a lot of simulation systems have been introduced with the aim of educating train-drivers to avoid mistakes. However, as well as prevention of accidents, it is also important to recover quickly the nomalcy of train operation in the case of occurrence of any accidents. In this report, we review history and current state of experience-based simulators for railway. Then, from the standpoint that accident recovery works should be indentified as cooperative works by plural participants, we consider utilization of virtual reality technology for training and validation of instruction manual's consistency. We also describe outline of the prototype system with basic functions.
