This paper deals with a cyclic job shop scheduling problem in order to plan an appropriate production schedule corresponding to a change of product mix agilely. The product mix, which is defined as the total composite of products offered by a company, is generally changed to meet demand in a market. We propose a heuristic-based scheduling method for the cyclic job shop scheduling problem to plan the feasible schedules under the different product mix conditions. A re-scheduling method is also introduced in order to shift the production schedules as soon as possible. Numerical simulations are carried out to verify the proposed methods.

At first, I explain some key points and difficulty of lithography tool design, issues that should be overcome during the development and requirements for stages in lithography tool in this paper. Then, I have ascertained a limit of static-pressure air bearing with differential pumping mechanism for vacuum application, for instance EUVL(Extreme Ultra Violet Lithography tool) by manufacturing so-called the “vacuum compatible” 1-axis air bearing and verifying the performance by comparing with equivalent model simulation. Finally, one of MAGLEV(MAGnetic LEVitated) stage concepts is proposed instead of common AIRLEV(AIR LEVitated) stage by seriously considering a high throughput for mass production. I simultaneously contribute 2nd paper, “Development of 6DOF Magnetic Levitation Stage for Lithography Tool -Proof Of Concept (Second Report)-“ which is a sequel to this paper.

In this paper, a novel setting is tackled in which a neural network generates object images with transferred attributes, by conditioning on natural language commands. Conventional methods for object image transformation have used visual attributes, which are components that describe the object's color, posture, etc. This paper builds on this approach and finds an algorithm to precisely extract information from natural language commands, which transfers the attributes of an image and completes this image translation model. The effectiveness of our information extraction model is experimented, with additional tests to see if the change in visual attributes is correctly seen in the image.

This paper describes the development of a new laser soldering technique for surface mount assemblies. The new technique, using a focused YAG laser beam, has a superior performance. It can be applied to TCP (Tape Carrier Package) assemblies for fine pitch leads and offers a no-bridge soldering process. In this paper, the performance of the new technique is evaluated experimentally. First, the new technique is compared with the conventional laser-soldering technique in TCP assembly. As a result, the no-bridge soldering concept is proved by the new technique. Second, to obtain more flexibility in assembly, the solder flow is investigated by a beam scanning method. The beam scanning direction is determined by the analysis of the solder flow mechanism. From these experiments, the new technique of laser soldering offers the capacity to assemble high lead counts and fine pitch ICs such as TCP.

This paper describes an automatic solder joint inspection system by X-ray imaging. The following were developed for highly reliable inspection of J-lead and gull-wing lead solder joints : (1) An automatic inspection method for double side-mounted PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards) by micro-focus X-ray imaging and board tilting, (2) Enhancement of X-ray image of solder joints by logarithmic transformation of a detected image, (3) Fillet judgement by comparison between a detected image and a number of typical nondefective images selected by a clustering procedure, (4) Bridge determination by multi-step thresholding and comparison between pattern frequency distribution of a detected image and that of a nondefective image. The inspection system developed with these technologies had a defect detection rate of 100% with the smallest detectable defect being 50 μm.
