Recently, energy harvesting has attracted increasing attention. The present study focuses on vibration generators based on piezoelectric elements by proposing an internal capacitor cancel control (ICCC) rectifier to improve the output power. The proposed rectifier cancels the internal capacitor to improve the output power while retaining the maximum output power. Accordingly, this paper experimentally demonstrates the improvement in output power by using the ICCC rectifier compared to conventional circuits and the previous proposed circuit.

In this paper, we monitored the electromagnetic waves generated by human activity. We investigated a monitoring system that used the bioelectric potential of a plant. Four subjects walked on the spot at a distance of 60 cm from a rubber tree and we measured the variation in the bioelectric potential of the tree produced by the stepping motion. The results confirmed that the electromagnetic waves generated by a person walking on the spot produced a measurable response in the bioelectric potential of a plant. It was also found that this variation in the bioelectric potential varied in synchrony with the subject's walking pace.

Induced current density in human head involved in generation of magnetophosphenes is estimated by numerical analysis using the impedance method to gain insight into the mechanism of magnetophosphenes. Complex shape and electrical heterogeneity of real human head are considered and a magnetic field which can cause magnetophosphenes is used. Calculated current density distributes throughout the head and is relatively high around nose and eyes. Induced current density distribution on retina is higher in the upper and lower parts than in the central part, which is consistent with experimental observations. Maximum induced current density at retina is estimated about 11mA/m2.

論文は昭和二年十月より昭和三年四月までになしたTelevisionの實驗報告である。此のTelevision方式に於いては送像所にNipkow廻轉圓板を像の分解器として用ひ、受像所にブラウツ管を使用し兩所の同期運轉には特殊の同期裝置を用ひた。受像はブラウン管の螢光板上約4cm.平方の大きさに現れ其のPicture elementの數は約1600個である。結果は附加された寫眞により例示されて居るが、人の顏が、目、口、鼻と充分見分けられるも未だ誰人かは想像により辛じて知らるる程度であった。

The 76GHz millimeter wave radar has been developed for automotive application such as ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) and CWS (Collision Warning System). The radar is FSK (Frequency Shift Keying) monopulse type. The radar transmits 2 frequencies in time-duplex manner, and measures distance and relative speed of targets. The monopulse feature detects the azimuth angle of targets without a scanning mechanism. Conventionally a radar unit is aimed mechanically, although self-aiming capability, to detect and correct the aiming angle error automatically, has been required. The new algorithm, which estimates the aiming angle error and vehicle speed sensor error simultaneously, has been proposed and tested. The algorithm is based on the relationship of relative speed and azimuth angle of stationary objects, and the least squares method is used for calculation. The algorithm is applied to measured data of the millimeter wave radar, resulting in aiming angle estimation error of less than 0.6 degree.

Boost converters are key components of DC power conversion used for electric mobility and renewable energy applications. In addition to constant voltage control of the output, variable voltage control has been attracting attention in recent years for high-efficiency drive of loads. However, the dynamic characteristics of boost converters exhibit nonlinear and nonminimum phase characteristics. Therefore, the inverse model for feedforward control is unstable, making high-precision voltage trajectory tracking control challenging. This study aims to present a noncausal and nonlinear feedforward controller to compensate for the nonlinear and nonminimum phase characteristics of the boost converter and to achieve perfect tracking control with respect to the output voltage trajectory. This study also establishes a method for identifying circuit parameters and deriving the time length of noncausal control input for practical implementation. The effectiveness of this control method is demonstrated by experiments using a boost converter.
