This article examines the introduction of foreign words into Thai. These loanwords, originating in Pali, Sanskrit, Khmer, Chinese and some other languages, have a long history of influence over Thai. Some have changed their original meanings; others have developed particular roles of usage. For example, Pali origin words are now mainly used for technical terms relating to the Buddhist faith. This article concludes with a summary of the characteristics of these loanwords, explaining how they have been absorbed according to history : the aim here is to help interpreters avoid misuse or misunderstanding.

本研究の目的は、日本における中退者の職業移行パターンを分析することである。分析にあたり、JSGGのデータセットを使用し、次の3つの仮設の妥当性を検証した。(1)「高学歴化」説、(2)「若年労働市場の弱体化」説、(3)「学校経由」説。分析結果によれば、中退者は、経済不況といった問題だけでなく、「学校経由」というシステムそのものが要因となって、無業になる可能性が高まることが明らかとなった。

本研究は、第1次世界大戦から第2次世界大戦までの期間(以下「戦間期」と記す)のイギリスにおける国際関係学の発展を、ナショナリズムをめぐる議論と関連付けながら歴史的に再検討することを目指した。研究の過程においては、新設されたシンクタンク「王立国際問題研究所(通称「チャタム・ハウス」)」の研究グループの議論に着目し、そこで戦間期の国際関係をめぐる概念や理論が、日々変化する国際政治情勢など経験的な事実と擦り合わされながら発展したことを明らかにした。これにより、国際関係をめぐるさまざまな知的営為が歴史的文脈を離れて抽象的には思弁され得ないことが示唆され、学説史研究に一つの視点を付け加えるに至った。

Hurriedly inventing the nom de plume of Mishima Yukio, sixteen-year-old Hiraoka Kimitake published his first serialized story in 1941 and his first novella in the closing months of WWII. During the American Occupation(1945-1952) he produced almost 20 works. Despite this comprehensive output, he is not normally described as a "post-war writer" in any sense other than one of timing. Oe Kenzaburo, writing directly about the effects of the Hiroshima bomb, Dazai Osamu expressing national defeat through a personal nihilism, and Enchi Fumiko describing the domestic milieu in the face of scarcity, are clearly seen to be scrutinizing the post-war condition. Mishima, on the other hand, is usually described as a supreme esthete who writes highly individualistic fiction, the universal themes of which somehow exist outside place and time. This paper examines the first two major works published in the period of occupation, Confessions of a Mask(1949) and Thirst for Love(1950) and points to the need for further consideration of Forbidden Colors(published in two parts, 1951 and 1953). Though not previously acknowledged as such, Confessions is clearly part of post-war kasutori culture, the polemic of which attempts to argue for the acceptance of decadence, nihilism, and solipsism in the face of unprecedented catastrophe. Thirst for Love explains the murderous behavior of its main character by showing the connections between her individual pathology and the social tenor of early reconstruction. Both novels are about narcissism, but they are not about narcissism per se; they reveal and explore a narcissism in the context of post-war society and post-war literary culture.

本論文の目的は、事業承継において、後継経営者が必要とする経営者能力を、どのような活動から獲得することができるかということを考察することである。本論文では中堅・中小企業のように、明確に機能組織や事業組織を分化していない企業において、後継経営者が新規事業や経営改革プロジェクトのプロジェクトマネジャーを務めることで、その必要な経営者能力を獲得するという側面に着目する。そのため経営者能力に関する先行研究が主張する個々の能力に対して、プロジェクトマネジャーに必要な知識体系であるPMBOKが、どの程度満たしているかを考察する。その上で、後継経営者がプロジェクトマネジャーとして活動することが、経営者能力を獲得する一つの方策であることを提案する。

Achieving equity in a diverse classroom is difficult but essential in an educational environment. The process of acquiring multicultural competency requires the effort of all involved parties and a willingness to create and operate in a 'community of resoect'. In all subjects this is important, but especially so in ESL and international EFL classrooms. Constructivist pedagogies employing cooperative education tenets and collaborative learning practices are most effective for attaining these ends because of their inclusive nature.

Politics seems to be deeply embedded in modern Chinese translation of the West in the first half of the 20th century. The political nature of translation is found in translating Western constitutional monarchy, Republican vision, and Communism as a form of struggle against colonization. It is seen in this period of literature translation as liberation of the exploited, the oppressed, and the downtrodden. It is also reflected in various debates over the language and criteria of translation, and intended readership among different schools and / or groups of translators with different political views, agendas and purposes. The Chinese experience of translation within a colonial context may inform studies on political implications of translation in this postcolonial world.

Between 2002 and 2005 Nagoya University of Commerce and Business (NUCB) became one of the first institutions in Japan to develop the infrastructure of the wireless university to promote the use of mobile learning. In addition to a wireless campus, all students were given iBook computers and faculty encouraged to develop online courses via the Blackboard Learning System and an Internet-based Enrolment Management System. Following Osaka Jogakuin College and Duke University, April 2005 saw the distribution of Apple's entry-level digital audio player, the iPod shuffle, to all freshmen. Faculty in the Department of English Communication were encouraged to develop courses that required use of the shuffle to support autonomous language learning in the Self-Access Centre (SAC). The use of the shuffle was particularly evident in English reading and listening courses, where undergraduate students were required to use it for assignments on learning materials that would appear in their final examinations. This article is based on a survey of students' experiences in the iPod project. It examines whether the project has been effective in promoting increased exposure to English listening resources within a mobile learning context.

本研究では、ストック・オプションの価値評価に関する問題点について、評価誤差という観点から整理する。ここで本研究における評価誤差とは、評価公式それ自体が取り込むことのできない事由により発生する評価誤差と、評価公式適用者の裁量による評価誤差の2つを意味する。前者については、いくつかの理論研究を概観し、それぞれの評価公式を用いて算出された公正価値にどのくらいの価格差が発生するかを検証する。後者については、これまで米国において行われてきた実証研究にもとづいて、ストック・オプションの評価額の決定に際して、経営者がどのような裁量的行動を行っているかを考察する。
