This study develops an environmental information visualization system for supporting thermal environment design in city planning. This system is constructed on a all-purpose GIS software. As visualization methods of 3D models, wire frame, surface model and solid model are applied according to a target scale or the characteristics of environmental information. The developed system is able to display urban planning data, landscape, thermal environment and historical data in multi-scale and multi-temporal using the 3D GIS.

Calculations of STI for several modeled sound fields show that the values of STI for the field consist of direct sound and single reflection, which is higher or lower by a dB than the former, are same, the sound reflections at any delay time raise up the value of STI and even the high level early sound reduces the value of STI under certain condition. The early sound energy might be useful for high speech intelligibility, whereas the concept of STI contradicts with that. There are problems to consider STI to be an adequate measure of speech intelligibility.

Taking the formulation of “Urasoe Landscape Plan” and “Nakama Landscape Criteria” as research subjects, it was found out that investigation into the reasons of modification of the draft landscape criteria and issues on the coordination process, method between citizen and administration is necessary.Thus, this paper is aiming at the following purposes: 1. To clarify the process for Nakama landscape district designation and the formulation of landscape criteria, Urasoe and the connections between the criteria and citizens'opinions. 2. To clarify the grounds for setting and modification of landscape criteria, and discuss the issues on the coordination between citizen and administration.

This study aims to obtain the basic data on supply planning of community facilities in planned communities. Differences of distributions and changes of community facilities are inspected among districts developed under different methods which located in Suma New Town, Kobe City. Fluctuation of the number of facilities in each district is surveyed from the early stage of the New Town development. On the other hand, opinions and attitudes of residents in each district toward their residential environments are obtained by means of questionnaires. As the results; the distribution of community facilities is still strongly influenced by the methods of development which planned over 40 years ago; most of residents moved in the early stage have been aged and composing the member of aging societies, although community facilities are not well sufficient for their daily livings; and residents tend to change their opinions to affirm mixed land use within the restriction of building types.

In the early Archaic period, viewpoints to look all chambers were found in the front space open-air of the doorways to chambers. In the late Archaic tombs providing central hall-like spaces, visitors entered the hall-like spaces beyond the doorways in order to look at all chambers. The viewpoint was moved from the space open to sky into the hall-like space. In examples in the 6th century B.C., for instance a wide room with pillars at Tomb of the Capitals, the wide room was used for two different purposes, such as the chamber and the viewpoints, in transition between early and late Archaic tombs. In the 4th century B.C. Etruscan tombs, so-called Sotto Faciata, had the place for the viewpoints that was spatially independent of the chambers.

The study of the P-Δ effects due to the increase of horizontal displacement is being continued steadily. In the present paper, the P-Δ effects on the elasto-plastic response of lumped mass system subjected to strong-motion earthquakes are studied as follows : First, the stability coefficient (the parameter that characterizes the P-Δ effect) is estimated by the regression line for the height and the natural period of the buildings, and the elasto-plastic response spectra are examined. Second, the mechanism of the P-Δ effects is examined from the results of the energy response, and the estimate formula applicable to the amplification factor (the ratio between the maximum response displacement with and without P-Δ) is suggested.
