Intrusive thoughts and difficulty in controlling thoughts are common, not only for people with psychological disorders, but also for healthy people. Individual differences in thought control ability may underlie such problems. The Thought Control Ability Questionnaire (TCAQ), which consists of 25 items, was developed by Luciano et al. (2005) in order to measure individual differences in the perceived ability to control unwanted intrusive thoughts. The purpose of the present study was to develop the Japanese version of the TCAQ and evaluate its reliability and validity. We translated the English version of the TCAQ into Japanese. We also conducted confirmatory factor analysis with a one factor solution, similar to the previous study. Based on the analysis, we excluded items whose factor loadings were lower than .30, resulting in 22 items for the Japanese version of the TCAQ. The model exhibited acceptable goodness-of-fit. The Japanese version of the TCAQ also demonstrated good reliability as well as evidence of construct validity. Thus, the development of the Japanese version of the TCAQ was successful.

International Space Station and other building project in the lower orbit rises the demand of EVA(extra vehicular activity), and due to this, the robots that helps EVA is highly expected. In this paper, we clear the development and designing requests of EVA Supporting Robot and its dexterous hand. The dexterous hand used in the EVA must be small enough to use EVA tools, able to output high grasping power and modularized so that the hand can be exchanged depending on the mission. Following to the requests, we designed a test model of dexterous hand. In this paper, new index robot finger for our dexterous hand is introduced. The finger consists of 1 actuator and 1 passive joint. The architecture and features of this finger are shown in the last half of this paper.

We report a patient with jaw trismus demonstrating Square-Mandible face.<BR>Clinically, the patient had a square face with prominent masseter muscles and mandibular angles. The interincisal opening was 26mm, with limited lateral and anteroposterior mobility.<BR>The clinical diagnosis was restricted mouth opening due to bilateral hyperplasia of the masseter muscle aponeuorses. Masseter muscle myotomy with aponeurectomy was performed bilaterally by an intraoral approach. Mouth opening improved to 40mm after incision of the aponeuroses.<BR>An examination of the patient one year after surgery demonstrated an interincisal opening of 37mm without strain.
