本研究の目的は,恒常性のある「見る」運動(一点注視)と多様性のある「見る」運動(分散注視)が,それぞれクローズドスキルの運動学習に及ぼす影響を明らかにすることであった。本研究ではクローズドスキルの運動課題としてダーツを用いて行われた。Day1からDay3までの練習期間において,分散注視型の注視課題を与えた群の得点は低い値を示し向上もみられなかった。しかし,注視課題を与えずに行ったPost Test及び保持テストの得点がPre Testの得点を上回った。また,一点注視群の得点との間には逆転現象が見られた。本研究で得られた結果は,多様性注視課題をもって練習を行うことで,多様性筋運動による練習と同等もしくはそれに近い効果が得られる可能性があることを示唆している。The purpose of this study was to show clearly the effects of "closed observation" and "dispersed observation" give the motor learning of the closed skills. In this study we used darts as the motor task. During practice period, Day1 to Day3, "dispersed observation" group showed low scores and their scores didn't improve. However, in post test and keeping of skills test, their scores exceeded pre test and reversed "closed observation" group's. The results of this study showed possibility of to practice with "variability vision control" is equal or nearly to practice with "variability movement".

This study investigated the effects of a coordination exercise program on quantitative and qualitative changes of throwing and catching ability with the subjects of 5 and 6-year-old 30 preschool children. A4-week control period and a 4-week exercise period were separately set. The exercise program was conducted for 40 minutes a day following the instruction guidance, during 8 days over 4 weeks. The subjects performed motion capacity tests (standing broad jump, side jump) and ball handling tests (control, catching,tennis ball handling) in each period. We evaluated the throwing and catching motions by using five typical developmental stages of motion patterns. As the results, we found a statistically significant increase in the side jump, catching, tennis ball handling and score evaluation for throwing and catching motions in the exercise period compared to the control period. The same results were obtained in both genders. These results suggested that, the coordination exercise program focused on basic ball handling technique may be beneficial to enhance the agility and ball handling capacity in preschool boys and girls aged 5-6, who need an adequate exercise instruction to improve their throwing and catching motions.

The purpose of this article is to evaluate the collective efficacy of sport teams and to investigate whether the relationships among collective efficacy, the behavior of sportspersons during a game, and team performance differs depending on the type of sporting event. Hence, we developed and examined a scale of efficacy to measure the above relationships in the first part of the study and applied this instrument in the second part of the study. The results of the first part of the study indicated that our scale consisted of 10 items with one common factor and had internal consistency, stability, construct validity, and criterion-related validity. In the second part of the study, we conducted a simultaneous analysis of several groups in order to investigate the above relationships. The results showed that the relationships among collective efficacy, the behavior of sportspersons during a game, and team performance differed depending on the type of sporting event. From these results, we inferred that the impact of different sporting events should be considered while examining the effects of collective efficacy on team performance.

Causal relationships among perceived motivational climates in physical education classes, goal orientations, and “Zest for Living” were investigated reciprocally in junior high school students. This longitudinal study involved 1045 junior high school students (mean age = 13.9±0.8 years) who completed questionnaires on 5 occasions at 2-month intervals throughout the academic year. The measures used included a questionnaire on motivational climates in physical education (mastery climate, cooperative climate, and performance climate), a scale assessing goal orientations (student task orientation and student ego orientation), and a scale assessing Zest for Living. The validity of the 5-wave cross-lagged effect model was verified using structural equation modeling. The results of the study suggested the following processes: (1) The mastery climate and cooperative climate had positive causal effects on Zest for Living. (2) The mastery climate and cooperative climate had positive causal effects on Zest for Living through mediation of task orientation, and exhibited a positive cycle. (3) The performance climate had positive causal effects on ego orientation, but negative causal effects on task orientation. In conclusion, to enhance Zest for Living in junior high school students, it is important for teachers to cultivate a mastery climate and cooperation climate in physical education classes. In addition, the performance climate in physical education classes has an indirect negative impact on Zest for Living.

A longitudinal survey of university soccer competitions investigated whether competition results influenced Life Skills (LS) acquisition. We selected coaches in the second division (A-League) of the Kansai Student Soccer League that were similar in age, years of coaching, and coaching achievements for a longitudinal study. The study investigated the relationship between competition results and LS in participants coached by these coaches at three time-points in May, August, and December. Students from A and B universities (N = 90) participated in the study. The results indicated no significant differences between the two universities in the first-semester competition results, whereas large differences were indicated in the second semester. LS sub-factors′ mean values, “goal setting” and “always making one′s best effort” in December were significantly higher in University B than A. These results indicated that competition results temporarily increased LS. Previous studies have suggested that LS acquisition might determine competition results, and competition results and LS acquisition might influence each other. On the other hand, “appreciating others” in the two universities was significantly lower in August than in May, regardless of competition results, possibly because games are suspended in August. Having no family or friends to cheer the students might reduce their opportunities for thanking surrounding people. It is suggested that coaches take the initiative to teach students the critical role of feeling grateful to surrounding people at these times.
