先行研究では様々な情報源が集団全体の集合的効力感と関連することが明らかにされてきた。しかし,スポーツ集団内において成員1人1人がどのように集合的効力感を評価したのか,その基礎的な形成過程に関しては明らかではなかった。本研究の目的はスポーツ集団内における集合的効力感の評価形成過程について,特に課題遂行能力の異なる成員に着目して検討することであった。実験参加者は男子大学生23名であり,実験協力者2名とともに3名1組の集団に割り当てられた。実験課題はワイヤーロープを60秒間,あらかじめ定められた基準値以上の張力で維持し続ける張力維持課題であった。実験参加者はこの課題を実験協力者2名よりも課題遂行能力という点で劣っている劣位条件,優れている優位条件,そして参加者のみで行う単独条件の3条件で行った。その結果,特に劣位条件において他者の課題遂行能力を手がかりに集合的効力感を評価する傾向が認められた。そして,劣位条件では単独条件,優位条件よりも努力量が低下する社会的手抜きが生起した。最後に,これらの結果について他者に対する能力期待の観点から解釈した。

本稿の目的は, わが国におけるスポーツ心理学の成り立ち, 研究領域の特徴から現状を整理し, 今後の課題を明確化することである. はじめに, スポーツ心理学の成り立ちに関して, 日本スポーツ心理学会 (JSSP) の発足は1973年であるが, 日本体育学会が1950年の設立以来, すでに体育心理学に関係する研究のプラットフォームになっており, 少なくとも65年以上の歴史があると指摘した. 次に, JSSP編によるスポーツ心理学事典などの目次をもとに, 研究領域を整理すると, 運動学習と制御, スポーツ社会心理研究 (スポーツ参加の動機づけ研究を含む), 健康スポーツの心理, 競技スポーツの心理 (メンタルトレーニングと臨床スポーツ心理を含む) の4領域が中心的な領域であると考えられた. 特に, JSSPによる2000年の 「スポーツメンタルトレーニング指導士」 資格認定が開始されて以降, 競技スポーツ分野への関心が高く, JSSP大会では, さまざまなシンポジウムが開催されている. 一方, イップスに代表される心因性の動作失調への対処などにおいて解決すべき課題も多く, 今後は心身医学との協働によるブレイクスルーが期待されている.

<p> 日本レスリング協会では、「インテリジェントレスラーの育成」を理念にアスリートとしてのキャリアと人としてのキャリアの両立(Dual Career)の支援を目指した新たな発掘・育成システムの構築を推進している。本事業の一環にて、カデット世代(U-18)の国内育成プログラムに参加している最も優秀なタレントを選考し、海外育成プログラムへ派遣した。同プログラムにおいては、ライフスキル(以下、LS)の獲得を促すためGROWモデル(Goal・Reality・Options・Will)による個別ミーティングを複数回実施した。2015年度においては、男子フリースタイルのタレント3名をロシア(クラスノヤルスク)、男子グレコローマンスタイルのタレント3名を韓国(釜山)、女子のタレント4名をアメリカ(コロラドスプリングス)へそれぞれ派遣した。本研究ではLS評価尺度を用いて、海外育成プログラムの出発時点と帰国時点のLS獲得レベルを比較することで、GROWモデルを用いた海外育成プログラムがLS獲得に与える影響を検討した。分析の結果、特に「コミュニケーション」(t(9)=1.87、p<.10)と「礼儀・マナー」(t(9)=1.65、p=.13)において、他のLSに比べ平均値の大幅な上昇が見られた。</p>

Using a qualitative approach, the present study of college soccer players (N=9) was conducted to clarify the psychological impact of scoring or losing points in additional time (AT). The participants had all played in official games in which their teams had scored or lost points in AT. Semi-structured interviews were conducted to collect narrative data, which were then analyzed by applying the Modified Grounded Theory Approach. The results suggested that before points had been scored or lost in AT, the players were in an unstable psychological state as they reached their mental and physical limits, and used emotion to evaluate their situational superiority or inferiority. In the case of scoring points, this situation created an intensified urge to become aggressive in order to maintain the team's superiority, encouraging the players to attack more strongly. On the other hand, in the case of losing points, this situation triggered an impulsive urge to defend excessively and become passive, trying to defend the goal further while becoming subordinate to the opposing team. Based on the major findings of this research, 3 points were discussed: 1) the psychological state before scoring or losing points in AT, 2) the psychological state when scoring or losing points in AT, and 3) the metamotivational state of players in AT.

This study aims at revealing the current situation and challenges of the sports instructor overseas dispatching project. For that aim, in this paper, in our analysis of the activities of Bhutan National football team in this project, we categorized those activities and suggested the following policies to strengthen the team. First, we need to organize a system for scouting and developing new talent. We also need to promote football and improve the circumstances for playing football. Making opportunities for players to experience big matches and training sessions abroad is also essential.

The aims of this research were to develop a scale that can assess generalization of the psychosocial skills used in competitive sports to other life domains for collegiate athletes, and to examine its characteristics and related factors. In a preliminary study, the generalization areas identified were study, career selection, relationships, and everyday life. Furthermore, 71 items representing 4 generalization areas were developed based on 10 dimensions of the required life skills for collegiate athletes (Shimamoto et al., 2013). The items were reviewed by 8 experts to confirm the content validity. Subsequently, factor analysis was conducted using the data collected from 262 participants (162 males and 100 females) to select a list of items. The initial 40 items were extracted and the content validity for all items was developed. In the main study, a total of 391 university student athletes (234 males and 154 females, and 3 not specified) were asked to respond to a questionnaire. The survey included questions about socio-demographic and psychosocial skills used in competitive sports (Ueno and Nakagomi., 1998), required life skills for athletes (Shimamoto et al., 2013), and questions about factors related to generalization (similarity of action and awareness of generalization possibilities). In addition, they responded to 40 items designed to assess generalization of the psychosocial skills used in competitive sports to other life domains derived from our preliminary studies. Confirmative factor analysis of the generalization of psychosocial skills items indicated a 10-factor structure with 30 items. Reliability was verified in terms of internal consistency. Convergent validity was confirmed by correlations with psychosocial skills used in competitive sports and required life skills for collegiate athletes. The scale derived from these results was named the “Generalization Scale of Psychosocial Skills for Collegiate Athletes” (GSPS-CA). In terms of demographic variables (gender, grade, and individual or team events), gender and grade differences were observed in some dimensions of the GSPS-CA, and individual or team event differences were not observed in any dimension. One-way ANOVA of each dimension of the GSPS-CA revealed interaction with factors related to generalization (similarity of action and awareness of generalization possibilities).

The Intelligence and Scientific Support team of the Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC) surveyed all JOC-Athletes Targeted for Olympic High Performance (n=995) on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in August 2020. The athletes responded to a web-based questionnaire. This study analyzed psychological stress responses and communication status from questionnaire data collected from identical participants using similar methods to the JOC Athlete Survey Part-1 (Sugita et al., 2021). Results indicated that summer sports athletes had significantly higher stress responses than winter sports athletes. Moreover, the Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (K6) score suggested that the proportion of summer sports athletes suffering from psychological distress (K6≧13) exceeded 10%. Mental health of summer sports athletes might have deteriorated due to the psychological impact of postponing the Tokyo 2020 Games. The stress response and mental health scores were positively correlated with stressors and negatively correlated with stress coping ability (Sense of Coherence: SOC). We speculate that reducing stressors associated with self-restraint and improving individual athletes' SOC might reduce stress responses and maintain or improve their mental health. Furthermore, the lack of communication between the athletes and their teammates and the coaches was indicated, especially during the state of emergency. Therefore, more holistic support activities for providing psychological support to Japanese elite athletes with mental health concerns using communication technologies, including videos and web conferences, might be required in the future.

This study aimed to investigate high school student-athletes’ mental health, stressors, stress responses, and life skills (LS) during the COVID-19 pandemic and to examine the effect of stressors and LS on stress responses. An online survey was conducted from July to November 2020, and 1,348 student-athletes and 662 non-athletes who were in high schools in the western part of Japan participated. Findings illustrated that student-athletes’ mental health seemed to be worse compared to pre-COVID-19 data. The levels of athletes’ perceived stressors, stress responses, and LS were significantly different depending on gender, grade, and competitive level. Multiple regression analysis showed that perceived COVID-19-related stressors significantly related to stress responses while LS were a significant moderator of the relationship.

A longitudinal survey of university soccer competitions investigated whether competition results influenced Life Skills (LS) acquisition. We selected coaches in the second division (A-League) of the Kansai Student Soccer League that were similar in age, years of coaching, and coaching achievements for a longitudinal study. The study investigated the relationship between competition results and LS in participants coached by these coaches at three time-points in May, August, and December. Students from A and B universities (N = 90) participated in the study. The results indicated no significant differences between the two universities in the first-semester competition results, whereas large differences were indicated in the second semester. LS sub-factors′ mean values, “goal setting” and “always making one′s best effort” in December were significantly higher in University B than A. These results indicated that competition results temporarily increased LS. Previous studies have suggested that LS acquisition might determine competition results, and competition results and LS acquisition might influence each other. On the other hand, “appreciating others” in the two universities was significantly lower in August than in May, regardless of competition results, possibly because games are suspended in August. Having no family or friends to cheer the students might reduce their opportunities for thanking surrounding people. It is suggested that coaches take the initiative to teach students the critical role of feeling grateful to surrounding people at these times.

Athletes alike continually endure stresses and pressures during the four-year preparation period between Olympic competitions. Olympians often need support for their psychological problems. However, athletes' experiences of such support have not been fully elucidated. This study clarified Olympian's experiences and psychological changes from their interview. In addition, according the result we discussed what kind of psychological supports Olympian needs in the future. We interviewed three, two time Olympic athletes, who did not achieve their Olympic goals and analyzed their experiences using the Trajectory Equifinality Model (TEM). Results showed that the athletes were influenced by social expectations, as well as by their relationship with coaches, teammates, and others. throughout Olympic campaigns. The results also revealed that there were psychological processes by events and the influences of society surrounding the athlete. Four characteristics of psychological support required by Olympic athletes were identified sequentially: (1) change of the competition environment, (2) surge of social attention, (3) environmental changes before the Olympics, and (4) giving meaning to the Olympics. The results also indicated that (3) and (4) were the most significant aspects of support.

Previous studies have revealed that past experience shared by the members of a group can uniformly increase or decrease the collective efficacy. However, it remains unknown how appraisal formation processes occur within an athletic team in which each member of varying ability appraises collective efficacy from the perspective of shared past experience. The purpose of this study was to examine the processes related to appraisal of collective efficacy in terms of the task-related abilities of individual members. The participants, 75 healthy males, were assigned to triads. The triads were instructed to cover a combined distance of 2,000 m as quickly as possible on a bicycle. The comparative task-related abilities of the participants were manipulated through false feedback before the task. The results revealed that participants with superior condition only appraised collective efficacy based on their own potential contribution, and that collective efficacy was associated with individual effort during the task. These results could be interpreted in the light of instrumentality, which is an element of the Collective Effort Model (Karau & Williams, 1993, 2001).

The purpose of this study was to examine the psychological state of the top kendo players when they are playing at their peak. The following results were obtained by using the Garfield Clustering Method on leading players and kendo students.<br>1) The psychological state of both leading kendo players and kendo students when they are performing at their peak can be described as "mentally relaxed, " "focused on the present, " and "highly energized".<br>2) The group of leading kendo players felt that they were "highly in control, " but did not report being in a state that could be described as "Confident, " "transcendation of self (unlikelihood)".

Collective efficacy has been identified as a critical determinant of team success in sport. Many studies in sport psychology have focused on the relationships between collective efficacy and psychological variables or outcomes of interest. Although an increasing number of studies on collective efficacy have been conducted in Japan, greater attention should be given to refining the methodology for assessing the construct of collective efficacy. The purposes of this study were to confirm the factor structure and establish construct validity of the Japanese translated version of the Collective Efficacy Questionnaire for Sports (J-CEQS) with revisions to its original version (Short et al., 2005). The participants were 1244 athletes from 48 teams. We conducted a confirmatory factor analysis and found that the J-CEQS showed the same multidimensional factor structure as Short's original questionnaire. To test the construct validity of the J-CEQS, we examined correlations among its subscale scores with the Group Environment Questionnaire (GEQ; Carron et al., 1985). All the J-CEQS subscales were significantly correlated with the group integration-task subscales. The unity subscale of the J-CEQS was also significantly correlated with all the GEQ subscales. These correlations were similar to those shown in previous studies (Martínez et al., 2011; Short et al., 2005). The present findings provide preliminary support for the utility of the J-CEQS as a measure for assessing collective efficacy in sport teams. We discuss recommendations for future studies using the J-CEQS.

本研究の目的は、スポーツチームの競技力向上・試合での実力発揮に役立つ心理的サポートのあり方を検討することであった。5年間にわたる縦断的・実証的研究より、以下が明らかになった。①スポーツチームの競技力向上・実力発揮をもたらす心理要因には、集合的効力感と集団凝集性が強く関与している。②スポーツチームに対する心理的サポートでは、個別のカウンセリングのほかに、チームビルディングが有効となる。③そのためのプログラムとして、メンタルトレーニング技法を取り入れた構成的グループ・エンカウンターが開発され、世界大会優勝を目指す日本代表チーム等での実践からその有効性が確かめられた。
