About 40% of all the elementary schools are linked to their neighboring parks in Sapporo city,and we think it is very effective to make use of the linking situation between elementary school and their neighboring park for the school education and local activities. The aim of this research is to analyze 1)the linking planning intention 2)characteristics of the linking patterns 3)the relation of the linking patterns and park usages. And we could find some characteristics of the linking situation as follws, 1)only Momijidai area have the linking planning intention in Sapporo. 2)the linking pattern varies in the scale of the urban park. 3)We find some relation of the linking patterns and usages between elementary schools and their neighboring parks.

This study aims to consider the issues on sustaining aquariums' publicness as cultural facilities by providing good services with stability. Actual conditions and its changes over the years on all aquariums in Japan were surveyed. Also, questionnaires on the operation, the maintenance and the facility utilizations were conducted from the viewpoint of social and educational aspects. As a result of factor analysis, the following points of aquariums' orientation have become clear; 1) entertainable attribute for attracting customers, 2) profitable attribute with stability and sustainability, 3) planning attribute for outside aquarium programs.

In making proposals for PFI project, we can see remarkable conduct as a specialist. Such conduct is quite different from the other design-communication, especially in housing environment design. And it is characteristic in their situated actions as "being the member." Ethno-design-method is inevitably working in such situated process practically. This paper aims to describe the ethno-design-methods which are found in their decision-making for programming, planning and designing facilities by participatory action research and analysis of conversations between members. Making proposals for PFI project develops through the collaborative practice by trial and error. The ethno-design-methods as collaborative practice were found as comprising (a) making agreeable responses to confirm explanation and intention, (b) interrupting except the end of utterance and (c) suggesting ideas or questions euphemistically.

This study proposes an alternative approach in housing environment design drawn from recent ethnomethodological developments in sociology, pedagogy, and cognitive science.Though it was assumed as a “social fact” that the roles of client and specialist differ, and that this difference was an effect of institutional structures or rules, it now becomes possible to think the other way by ethnomethodology, and see how asymmetries are produced in and through the details of client' and specialist' situated interactions.The role relation between the client and the specialist in design action is constituted through the sequence construction of conversation, and the contents of housing environment design develop through the customary regulation and restriction in conversation.

This study examines the progress achieved by projects aimed at promoting collective relocation for disaster prevention since the Great East Japan Earthquake and their current state of affairs. This investigation seeks to clarify the spatial characteristics of the residential land currently under construction on hilly terrain as part of these collective relocation projects. Spatial planning for the collective relocation project in Kesennuma city, which deals with a relatively small area, has focused on relocation that respects existing community units, i.e., the identical and unified types. In addition, most of the housing development plans focus on construction that will connect and run linearly along the National Highway 45, which is the main arterial road of Kesennuma.

This research aims to investigate how visually handicapped persons use their white cane to orient themselves when walking, and analyze their characteristic of behavior related to spatial perception from the viewpoint of ecological psychology. By focusing on 5 totally blind persons, it was found that they have been developing their dexterity for oneself in daily life. Basically, they walks along the physical guide using by slide motions and touch techniques which were instructed in the walking training. However, they have been progressing the combination slide motions with touch techniques as complex skills. The diversity of active touches could be a clue to understand spatial perception of visually handicapped persons, and to consider the effective inventions of the universal design for them.

Actually, how do ordinary people decide their housing?(“By whom...?”“Which type of dwelling...”“What are it's criteria?” etc.)This study aims to describe the structure of actions in production of order-made detached houses. People do act in their housing by changing their conceivable facts and indirect experience from their neighbors (for example, past relocation of housing, visit to housing exhibition, talk with acquaintance and consultation with professionals or salespeople) into their own objective reality rather than wide and more ubiquitous information.

2005年10月の中国共産党16期5中全会で採択された第11次5ヶ年計画(2006~2010年)において、「社会主義新農村建設」(以下、「新農村建設」)という政策が重要な歴史的任務と位置付けられ、中国の都市と農村間の経済格差解消に関わる一連の政策措置が提出された。これらは、農業の近代化、農民の収入増を目指すとともに、集落の生活環境の総合整備事業も具体的に位置づけられている。新たな小都市の建設や、集落移転も導入されており、中国各地で大規模な農村集落の整備事業が起こっている。本研究は、2005年より「社会主義新農村建設」政策のもと全国各地で大規模な農村集落の再整備が相次いでいる中国において、整備中の「尚庄新村」を事例として、現行の新農村建設の政策と具体的な実践のモデルを解明し、「新農村建設」における集落再整備の手法と特徴を明らかにすることを目的とする。

This research explores the changing appearance of color of townscape. Different seasons create different appearances. The purpose of this research is to analyze the changing appearance of color by comparing townscape between summer and winter in Sapporo and Otaru City. The aspect of visual phenomena, such as color and light, can be understood by analyzing the appearance of urban spaces. This research aims to clarify the phenomenon about appearance of color of buildings in northern city.

本研究は、北海道の過疎地域の郵便局を対象とし、郵便業務以外での地域貢献や地域交流といったボランティアサービスが民営化前後においてどのように変化しているのか、そのような取り組みへの郵政民営化の影響を郵便局側がどのように認識しているのかについて把握し、地域住民の利用実態と郵便局への期待と評価についても詳細に分析することで、郵便局が地域におけるコミュニケーションの接点としてどれほど人々の日常生活に浸透しているのかについて考察し、過疎地域のソーシャル・キャピタルの核としての郵便局の今後のあり方を探求するための基礎的知見を得ることを目的とした。その結果、郵便局員と地域住民が郵便サービスを授受するだけの関係にとどまらず日常の生活においても密接に交流を持っていること、郵便局が地域の公共資産として保持されることが期待されていること、郵便局のあり方は、他の公共施設と公共サービスとの関係の中で郵便局の徒歩圏域の立地特性が重要な意味を持っていること、が明らかとなった。

This study aims to clarify the relationship between the change in spatial structure resulting from the development of Sapporo Underground Pedestrian Space and human behaviors, as well as their spatial cognition. The characteristics of spatial and distance cognitions and their change were analyzed by sketch-map experiment and walking experiment. As a result of the analysis, the following points of the characteristics of spatial and distance cognitions and their change have become clear. 1) The pedestrians' spatial cognition has been improved in accuracy. 2) The pedestrians' spatial cognition is getting more restrictive.

From the point of view of environment behavior studies, this paper proposes an alternative approach in housing environment design drawn from recent ethnomethodological developments in sociology, social science, anthropology and cognitive science. The orientation in design action led by an architect is constituted through the sequence construction of conversation between the architect and the client, and the contents of housing environment design develop through the customary regulation and restriction in conversation. It becomes clear that we must re-study the premise which communication can build a consensus because the orientation acts on the client as force or power and controls his independence.
