We sometimes experience infant cases leading to unexpected deaths due to foreign bodies. It is often difficult to identify the cause or foreign body invasion by asking questions directly to a child. We experienced an infant case of a chopstick passing through the soft palate, reaching the parapharyngeal space near the inner carotid artery circumference. At the first medical examination, we could not detect the tip of the chopstick, in the pharynx. Using 3-directional-CT images, we could locate the tip of the chopstick in the parapharyngeal space near the inner carotid artery circumference. Under general anesthesia, we could remove the tip of the chopstick from the parapharyngeal space near the inner carotid artery with an endoscope trans-orally.It is important to investigate positional conditions between a foreign body and the vessels in the parapharyngeal space. Images such as enhancing 3-directional-CT before the operation is useful.Furthermore, we have to be careful of the late neurosis by pencil-injury in the region and pay close attention to respiratory tract management.

福島第一原子力発電所事故において,非常用交流電源は津波が発電所に到達したと考えられる時刻に集中して喪失していることから,津波が原因で喪失したものと考えている。今回,非常用交流電源設備の設置位置と機能喪失時刻の関係に着目し,津波が原因であるとすることの妥当性について追加検討を行った。検討の結果,非常用交流電源設備までの津波浸入の経路長が長いほど機能喪失時刻が遅い傾向があることが分かり,非常用交流電源は津波により機能喪失したとの従来の推定がより確からしいものとなった。

Although previous studies pointed healing effects from waterfront, quantitative evaluations and factor of healing effects were still unknown. To evaluate quantitatively healing effects from river and coast and its associated factors, in this study, we measured simultaneously psychological stress and sound and thermal environments at six sites in which the measuring points were selected near waterfront and urban area in its neighborhood. The measured results indicated that 1) the measured values of salivary amylase activity, one of useful stress markers, in several waterfronts were appreciably lower than those in urban area, and 2) the healing effects in waterfronts were closely related to sound and thermal environments.

地方行政の基盤強化や広域的な対応の必要性から、市町村合併に注目が集まっている。行政と住民とが連携してまちづくりを展開していく上で、住民の合併に対する意識を考慮することは重要な課題である。市町村合併のデメリットとして、地名の変更が挙げられている。本研究は、市町村合併による市町村名称変更が住民の地域帰属意識に与える影響を明らかにし、市町村名称変更の形態と地域帰属意識変化との関係を明らかにすることを目的とする。5年前に合併した兵庫県篠山市の住民を対象にアンケート調査を行い、その結果の分析から、旧名称を残す場合と消滅させる場合とで、地域帰属意識の変化に違いが出ることを突き止めた。

This paper proposes a new field-weakening control considering voltage saturation for vector controlled induction motor. The proposed method improves the output torque characteristics in the field-weakening region. The effectiveness of proposed method is verified by the experimental results.

白ネズミ小腸磨砕抽出液を用いてフィターゼ作用を調べた.至適pHがPH6.6とPH8.4の2ケ所に存在し,Mg^<2+>の効果が両pHで異なるところから,白ネズミ小腸には少くとも2種のフィターゼ作用をもつ酵素が存在すると推定した.実験に協力頂いた浅見靖子,友枝由紀両氏に感謝致します.
