It is necessary to implement a series of special supports from infancy to working age so that people with an illness or disability can live with dignity and have self-fulfillment. The following three studies address the idea of reconsidering places of life/activities for people with various special needs.[I] Understanding the needs for technical environmental arrangements[II] Understanding the spatial composition and aspects of life/activity according to types of facilities[III] Consideration of stay and relationship of people with various special needs based on individual surveys This paper aims to examine studies [II] and [III] conducted at preschools and study [III] at an elementary school section of special-needs school, and refering to the construction of activity bases that includes various special needs.  The observational research was conducted at four facilities (W/X/Y/Z) for children with intellectual disabilities and an elementary school section of a special-needs school (M). At these facilities, children are provided with nursing/education that fits each special support type defined by their ability to communicate and move.   Chapter 3 looks at studies [II] and [III], which were conducted at four preschool facilities, and the following findings were obtained.・ Even though the spatial composition is the same, usage of the space is different.・ Differences in aspects of stay for each special support type are related to whether children can choose their place to stay.・ It is necessary to provide support for human interactions depending on spatial composition/special support type.  Chapter 4 looks at study [III], which was conducted at an elementary school section of a special-needs school, and the following findings were obtained.・ The stay ratio distribution is not influenced by special support type but by curriculum and furniture placement.・ Difference that depends on special support types is not observed when they relate with "Other Children".・ Relationship of special support types "a" and "b" are at lower percentage of "Teacher" and higher percentage of "By Oneself" in 2012 than in 2010.  Finally, in Chapter 5, cross-sectional consideration of differences and synonyms of activity patterns in preschool and school age was conducted; the following findings were obtained.・ Even with the same space composition, the meaning of the space differs depending on operation and shape of each facility, and that becomes apparent as the way the space is used.・ The environment and stimulus that are easily obtained/ decreased change based on special support type and spatial composition at four preschool facilities. On the other hand, the environment and stimuli are controlled by spatial transformation at school (M).  As stated above, in order to build comprehensive activity base regardless of age and type of disability at preschool and school age, it is necessary to firstly pay attention to the environment and stimuli that are received differently depending on spatial composition and special support type. In addition, since special support type affects management and nursing / education policy, it is needed to consider spatial composition together with the management policy. Furthermore, it is necessary to redesign space and activities by reexamining management and the meaning of the space according to the needs, because bases for preschool and school age children care different students every year and also their needs change each year.

This paper aims to clarify customers' behavioral characteristics at bookstores by focusing on building types, bookshelf arrangements, and customers' attributes of bookstores. We conducted plot research to investigate customer collection situation and trace observations in bookstores to grasp customers' detailed behavior. We found that customers' attribute and behavior vary by the bookstore, and that visual sequentiality of subject field of books as well as physical sequentiality influence how customers move around and browse books in bookstores.

放課後のこどもたちの活動の場である学童保育拠点は,就労支援や児童福祉の観点から,ますます拡充が求められている。その際,コストや整備期間の短縮といった観点からは地域資源の活用が有効であると考えられる。本研究では,都内の学童保育拠点の設置状況(単位面積あたり拠点数,1拠点あたり定員)が異なる3つの区を対象としたケーススタディとして,学童保育拠点の配置と,定員の過不足についての検証を行う。また,定員が不足する場合には拠点増設を想定し,[将来想定]条件での将来的なニーズの把握とそれに対応した拠点整備効果の検討を行った。拠点分布に偏りがある場合の利用圏域の調整など現有資源の有効活用,ならびに地域資源の活用を想定して拠点の圏域と定員の調整を行い,将来的な利用児の増加に対する対応可能性を示した。この成果は,高学年児童も受け入れる学童保育制度への移行や,1人あたり面積の拡充等に向けた道筋となる資料として一定の価値があると考える。

This paper aimed to examine the calculation method and the standard for area necessary for after-school children's day-care center. It was shown that the examination only depending on the evaluation by staff resulted in an indefinite outcome, and the indicator focused on kinds of children's plays was effective. Moreover, multiple foundations of the calculation were found, and the process of calculating the standard for necessary area based on the combination of these foundations was suggested.

This paper aimed to clarify the relationship between family communication and the structure of dwelling space in the period of growth and development (the 2nd grade of elementary school - the 2nd grade of junior high school). Consequently it was shown that 1) College students period: If the path of flow always passes through the family living space, a high percentage of families enjoy each other's company once a week or more, only for women and the total of men and women, 2) Growth period: there was no significant correlation between the structure of dwelling space and actual family communication, 3) Growth period: a relationship in terms of location between the parents' room (not the children's room) and the family living space correlates to the psychological distance of children to their parents.

葉山ハートセンターは,重度の心臓疾患の外科手術による治療を目的として,循環器外科とその後方病床に特化した心臓病の最先端治療センターとして開設された.開設当時は,それまでの病院建築の典型を払拭した敷地選定や建物形状,質の高いインテリアデザインや眺望との一体感など「病院らしくない病院」は話題を集め(図1),心臓手術を受ける患者に配慮した環境が高く評価され,グッドデザイン賞金賞(2000年),日本医療福祉建築賞(2001年)を受賞している1).

In this paper, we review the support system, status of facility improvement, and issues for disabled students at Japanese universities based on literature and interview surveys. The analysis shows that the development of basic facilities such as elevators and ramps has progressed considerably. However, the support system is biased or not in place at some universities. Responding to diverse types and degrees of disabilities is a major task for the future, requiring correspondence such as designing and introducing the necessary equipment ahead of time and assuming students’ needs.

This case report was conducted in an acute care unit with a distinctive plan to examined the relationships between: 1) amount of nurses’ activity and nurses’ burden-feeling, and 2) plan characteristics and nursing burden. The survey consisted of a questionnaire and three-day-activity survey using a general pedometer. Results showed that the amount of activity in the nursing hall type tended to be lower than that in the middle corridor type. Furthermore, no clear relationship was found between amount of nurses’ activity and the nurses’ burden-feeling. These results suggest that nurses’ burden-feeling is an independent indicator.

Because of COVID-19, people are required to refrain from leaving their homes unnecessarily. In this study, the relationship between the stress levels of Japanese university students and their home-based learning environment was investigated through a questionnaire survey. The results show that stress levels decreased as the number of days passed for those who lived with their families. Moreover, days with lower stress levels were those when the students had opportunities to meet others in an online setup, suggesting that having opportunities to communicate with others and making plans to do so may contribute to stress reduction.

Research considered that the recollections in which accumulated memories of scenes at school might contribute to forming one's view of schools and attitude and attachment to learning. Based on Previous studies, this paper aims to clarify the elements constituting memories of school buildings and scenes at school recalled by adults when thinking back to their school days. The classification and analysis of evaluation structures of scenes in memory and of contents of accumulated memories described by adults resulted as follows:1) "Playing" scenes are the majority of memorable scenes. It shows that the “playing” plays a very important role in school life. Scenes relating to “leaning,” the main purpose of school, account for approximately 10.9 percent of all the memorable scenes. In addition, scenes relating to other school lives such as lunch time scenes account for few numbers.2) "places" as an element which remains in memory. And "Natural element" is important which remains in memory 3) "What was in the classroom", and "Light and the scenery from a window" built the impression about a classroom.

これからの子育てと就労の両立を支える都市環境のあり方を考える上で、職住構造が就労と子育ての両立にどのように影響するかの実態を把握することは、今後の都市環境整備に資する知見として有用であると考えられる。そこで本稿では、東京郊外の多摩市と大都市圏に近接する地方都市、宇都宮市の保育所利用世帯へのアンケート調査によって、世帯の就労の状況、父母の送迎分担、就労と子育てへの両立に関する意識などを把握した。両市での結果を比較しながら、各市での就労・子育ての状況の特徴の明確化を試みたところ、通勤時間の差異が世帯の就労状況や分担状況に影響を及ぼしている様子や、地域ごとの交通手段の相違が望ましい保育サービスの立地や提供のされ方に差異をもたらしている可能性などを示した。また、各市で子の幼少期からの就労や家庭外保育への賛否には意識差が見られ、就労や送迎分担の状況が類似した世帯でも、市ごとに保育や子育てと就労の両立に関する意識に差異があることもわかった。今後の保育サービスや子育てと就労の両立のための政策展開には、こうした地域差を加味する必要がある。

The purpose of this study is to develop a method for location planning of regional facilities. To this end, this article aims at formulating converted walking distance considering resistance of topographical features as well as changes in physical strength by age. Two types of converted distance, one based on dynamics and the other based on consumption calorie, are compared with direct distance and route distance in terms of user distribution of a regional facility in Tama New Town. The result shows that the converted distance based on consumption calorie gives the best model among the four types of distance.

In this paper, an observation study was conducted in 22 facilities in Tokyo to derive the accurate scale of an after-school day-care center. From an investigation, the scale of bases such as indoor area and the number of useable areas was investigated. The activity area was calculated and checked a state of playing . I analyzed a state of playing for an index. The index of the child viewpoint is provided in this report and gets the index of the staff viewpoint in the study in the past. Combining both these indexes can help improve the quality of the base.

This paper aimed to obtaining the knowledge of the proper standard formulation of group size and area scale based on it and understand facility management of after-school day-care center, we conducted a questionnaire survey on after-school day-care center based in Tokyo.Analysis of the survey results, it was to grasp facility management such as complexed facility, target children, area and group size.The difference was seen ideal sizes and environment such as a dynamic play and number of nursery space by another complexed facilities and target children.

By surveying pupils and school personnel on their evaluations and actual usage of the spaces, this paper aims to obtain information that will provide details on future proposals. The surveyed case was Elementary School A has various forms and settings of workspaces (WSs). As a result, it was found that the open spaces (composed of a series of small spaces of different scales and settings, which is a feature of elementary schools), have promoted pupils' spatial recognition and diverse activities. It is then, we believe that implementing these open spaces will promote various activities related to living, learning, and playing and expand schools' range of educational activities and choice of places.
