In this study, we focused on the improvement of the additional thermal resistance of windows with shading devices. The measurement of the additional thermal resistance of windows with shading devices, such as blinds or roller screens was conducted for 64 cases under the identical test devices and conditions. The results were further analyzed in terms of gap in the opening, porosity of surface material, ventilation characteristics and emissivity, so as to verify the improved elements of additional thermal resistance. (1) To improve additional thermal resistance of the shading devices, the followings are the elements to consider:  - Make the gaps of the shieling material smaller.  - Use low emissivity material.  - Make the heat resistance of the shading devices bigger. (2) Venetian blinds can have a better additional thermal resistance by adopting the high degree of shielding and air tightness. (3) Roller screens can have a better additional thermal resistance by adopting of low-emissivity screen and side rails. (4) Cellular screen has the highest thermal resistance among the shading devices, thanks to cellular structure and its air layer. The performance can be further improved by filling the gaps with side rails. The No. 50, the best performance one, achieved an additional thermal resistance of over 0.5[W/m2K]. (5) Using two layers of shading devices helps the additional thermal resistance improve. (6) Measured values are mostly consistent with calculated values by ISO 15099. However, there are some different values between the measurement and the calculation. The desirable difference between the tested and the calculated value is within 10%. The evaluation method taking into account the air permeability (airleakage) of the window with shading devices and the emissivity of shield member is regarded as the future subject to examine, because it is valuable in terms of simplifying the evaluation of the additional thermal resistance of the window with shading devices. (7) Even though the improvement of the window's additional thermal resistance by using shading devices is an effective measure, it is regarded as the future subject to examine because the dew condensation possibly appear on the glass surface.

This study aims to clarify the actual installing conditions of heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems and their operations in public elementary schools based on 568 school data obtained from a nation wide investigation. Some results are shown as follows: 1) Insufficient thermal insulation and air tightness were provided in many school buildings in warm climate areas, 2) Heating systems were provided in almost all rooms but their installing conditions varied with respective areas, 3) Air-conditioning systems for cooling are on the increase in many areas, especially urban areas, and 4) Ventilating systems are not operated under optimum conditions because of inadequate management. We suggest that the building envelope systems should be improved and it is necessary to make guidelines and inform teachers of the essentials of maintenance for HVAC systems for efficient operation.

We measured the sensible and latent heat flux on the glass roof with water pond and the grass yard at the Oasis2l. The sensible heat flux on the water pond was 1/10 times larger than on the grass. The Bowen ratio is 2.0 on the grass and 0.2 on the water pond. And we suggested a possibility that the measurement of sensible heat flux above the void area using Scintillometer. The heat flux and temperatures around grass surface was calculated by numerical models. In as a consequence, the flux value was calculated almost properly. The thermal impacts of Oasis2l that the influence to the around thermal environment and radiant environment and so on are confirmed.

The underground open space in OASIS 21 is a semi-outdoor space. It has a glass roof with a pond but has no wall above ground. Therefore its environment is strongly influenced by the natural wind. In this study, ultrasonic anemometers are placed above the glass roof and in the underground space to measure wind speed and direction. The vertical velocity distribution in the underground space and the wind speed and direction of underground pathways are also measured.

本研究では,複雑な事象を総合的に評価する必要がある住宅の温熱環境を対象に,非定常気流・温熱環境解析手法を用いたバーチャルハウスシミュレータの開発を行った。異なる暖房方式を採用した居室の定常・非定常温熱環境の実測を行い,検証用データベースを作成した。実測を対象に各種解析モデルを用いて解析を行い,実測と比較して精度を検討した結果,本研究で開発したシミュレータが住宅の温熱環境評価として実用的な精度を有することを示した。
