In this paper, we introduce school-wide teaching and learning support practices by using digital learning tools for students and faculties during the COVID-19 pandemic. Right after the COVID-19 pandemic affected the higher-education in Japan, Osaka University built a Teaching Class Support and Response Team during the new semester to develop school-wide online teaching and learning supports due to the campus closure. The team offers multi-faceted support tools such as LMS help desk, orientation videos via YouTube channel for first-year students, and teaching online guidelines during the semester. Through our practices, we find the significant issue of teaching at the university during the COVID-19 era. The issue is: how we conduct classes to combine face-to-face and learning online in the same semester. To resolve this issue, we believe that universities need to develop an organizational comprehensive support system for teaching and learning. We also expect that scholars would share their expertise, idea, and practices of teaching under practices the COVID-19 pandemic by using an academic society.

Narrative and qualitative research is an interdisciplinary field that cuts across the humanities and the social and physical sciences, and its theoretical antecedents can be traced to interpretivism (including Wilhelm Dilthey), hermeneutics, and social constructionism, which have different views of reality and human life. Qualitative researchers are committed to an interpretive understanding of human experience. This paper reviews the epistemological stances for qualitative inquiry and recent narrative and qualitative research on the meaning in life. The importance of reflexivity about own theoretical stance and the implications of Dilthey’s philosophy for future qualitative inquiry are discussed.

本稿では,大学でのオンライン授業のデザインについて説明し,コロナ禍において大学で実践されたオンライン授業に関する情報および著者が実践したオンライン授業について紹介する。そして,対面とオンラインを組み合わせたブレンデッド教育やハイフレックス授業について説明し,今後のニューノーマルにおける大学教育のあり方について検討する。

Attention toward active learning and usage of information and communication technology (ICT) is becoming more substantial in higher education. Hence, a new learning space to realize and establish such education environment is undertaken. The highly flexible spaces are developed to adopt today's diverse learning styles. However, the standard to rate more objective quality needs to be practiced in Japan. In this study, Learning Space Rating System (LSRS), developed for measuring the quality of learning spaces, has been translated into Japanese.
