To understand the multimodal effects of soft drink color and flavor on the predicted palatability and taste, we prepared six differently colored water in individual plastic bottles: yellow, orange, red, purple, blue, and green, by dissolving artificial colorants with mineral water. We also used four types of essence: lemon, apple, strawberry, and mint. Each essence was placed on a smelling-strip on the underside of the bottle cap. In the visual experiment, subjects observed one of the colored waters without any olfactory cues. In the olfactory experiment, they observed non-colored water and smelled the underside of the cap. In the visual-olfactory experiment, they observed one of the colored waters while smelling an essence. Subjects evaluated the predicted palatability, sweetness, sourness, and bitterness in each experiment. As a result, palatability was higher for the yellow color with lemon flavor, and red color with strawberry flavor. In addition, the contribution ratios of flavor to color were 1.24 for palatability, 4.61 for sweetness, 1.91 for sourness, and 1.98 for bitterness.

This study finally aims to clear the appropriate lighting conditions for kitchen work. In this report, we conducted the experiment on the subjective evaluation for cutting and peeling, under a variety of conditions of light source, illuminance, light color, and light direction. Subjects evaluated &ldquo;Brightness&rdquo;, &ldquo;Visibility&rdquo;, &ldquo;Task Performance&rdquo; and &ldquo;Satisfaction&rdquo;.<br>As the results, it was cleared that the evaluation for &ldquo;Task Performance&rdquo; is high, under conditions that task light is diffused light and high color temperature light, and that the evaluation of&lsquo;the satisfaction of lighting environment for kitchen work&rsquo;was different by the light direction under the same conditions of illuminance on the work table.

防災対策推進地域の中でも特に津波被害予測が大きい高知県・徳島県・和歌山県・静岡県の地方自治体を視察し夜間対策の現状を調査した。どの地方自治体も、ソフト・ハードの両方若しくは片方について、災害時の住民避難における夜間対策に独自の工夫を凝らしているが、「法的規制がないため必須の整備項目にならず予算が獲得しにくい」「バッテリー交換など維持管理が難しい」「夜間の避難訓練は災害時の完全に停電した状態を設定しにくく、訓練時の安全確保も困難である」「国道の標識は設置高さ2.5m又は5mであるので避難者を対象とした誘導標識の設置場所になりにくく、管轄が異なるので容易に設置できない」「電柱への誘導標識の取付位置は道交法の関係で路面から2m以上となっており、光量が少ない器具の場合は目立ちにくく効果が期待できない」といった問題点や課題も多く、その結果、夜間対策の実態は自治体により大きく異なっている。住民避難のための夜間対策のモデルケースを委員会としてできるだけ早急に提案する必要があると思われる。

This paper aims to establish a design system of the shading windows which achieve a balanced flows of visual information between the inside and the outside of a room. For this purpose, the relationship between the visibility level and the physical condition of the object seen through the shading of a window must be known. In this paper, the calculating method of the apparent luminance of a visual target seen through a lace curtain was established. In the calculating method, three optical properties of various race curtains, the rate of passage luminance, the property of transmission, and the property of reflection, are required. So these optical properties of five kinds of lace cloths which have different formal characteristics were measured.
