The purpose of this study was to clear mechanical characteristics of the Japanese bow, and find the energy transfer efficiency. The exeperiments were made by five classes of bows, arrows and strings heights. The potential energy(PE)was calculated on every bows.And the kinetic energy (KE)was calculated from shooting experiment according to arrows and strings heights.Then, the energy transfer efficiency was obtained on KE/PE X 100.The results were as follows:1, Relation between the drawing length and the drawing force shows a inverted S curve. This characteristic is constant regardless of the bow's strength and strings height.2, The potential energy is increased by the drawing length. The general tendency that the strong bow has high potential energy was evident.3, The minimum of the energy transfer efficiency lies on 15cm of the strings height in the experiment according to five classes strings height.4, In this study, the energy transfer efficiency is increased until 29g of the mass of arrow. And more than that, the energy transfer efficiency was decreased. It seems that there is a matching point of bow and arrow.

The purpose of this paper was to examine correlations between efficiency of energy transfer and several indices obtained from strain gauges equipped with on a bow, and found a criterion to evaluate a shooter's technique with regard to the left hand. We analysed twisting moment and bending strain of a bow during a bow's restoration.The conclusions were as follows:1. The efficiency is significantly correlated with values of twisting moment of a bow in the latter part of the bow's restoration sequence, but not significantly correlated with values in the former part.2. The efficiency is significantly correlated with values of twisting moment integrated by time (P<.01), and with time when the maximum values of the moment is obtained (P<.05). However, it is not significantly correlated with the maximum value itself.3. Some spectrums of vibration of bending strain are negatively correlated with the efficiency, especially in the low frequency domain. The number of frequencies at which spectrums are positively correlated with the efficiency is obviously smaller than number of negative correlations. Vibration of twisting moment has little meanings in comparison with that of bending strain because of the magnitude of its energy.Some of these are widely known as an empirical law. Our conclusions are consistent with it.Consequently, the conditions of a shooter's technique to transform a bow's energy efficiently are regarded as follows:* Twisting moment integrated by time is large, and the maximum values of the moment is obtained in the latter part of the bow's restoration.* Vibration of a bow's bend in low frequency (especially, about 100Hz or 200Hz) is small.

Since a Japanese-style bow is very complicated in both shape and structure, torques in horizontal and sagittal planes regarding grip must be applied to hit the target. This study biomechanically investigated the relationship between left forearm muscular activities and torques in horizontal (called the “NEJIRI” technique) and sagittal planes (called the “UWAOSHI” technique)regarding grip.Surface EMGs of four muscles (extensor carpi radialis longus, extensor digitorum, extensor carpi ulnaris, flexor carpi ulnaris) were collected from ten male subjects shooting arrows. The habit of the motion of drawing the bows that is called “BIKU” was measured incidentally from the experiment. As a result of statistics analysis, extensor digitorum and extensor carpi ulnaris muscles had positive relationships to the torque in the horizontal plane (“NEJIRI” technique). On the other hand, extensor carpi ulnaris and flexor carpi ulnaris muscles had positive relationships to the torque in the sagittal plane (“UWAOSHI” technique). It is suggested that extensor carpi ulnaris is complicatedly controlled to accomplish the operation of “TENOUCHI”, the shooting technique, in KYUDO.

The purpose of this study was to estimate the usage and comfort levels of wearing sectional pressure socks, and sectional pressure pantyhose through psycho-physiological responses. Experiment samples are socks of sectional pressure, normal socks, pantyhose of sectional pressure and normal pantyhose. The subjects were 20 female university students. Each sample was measured over the same period of time, one day, and checked using electrocardiogram measurement to determine psychological comfort and a questionnaire to determine physiological comfort. From results of electrocardiogram measurement, normal socks decreased psychological comfort more than socks of sectional pressure over time. Moreover, the difference in the psychological comfort between in pantyhose, normal pantyhose or pantyhose of sectional pressure could not be discerned by the questionnaire. From the results of the questionnaire, both socks and normal socks increased knots and discomfort as time passed, but socks of sectional pressure brought down knots and remained at a comfortable level. In pantyhose, pantyhose of sectional pressure felt more comfortable than normal pantyhose for all regions of the leg. However, as comparing thigh to ankle and calf, pantyhose of sectional pressure of comfortable sensation value exhibited discomfort, and physiological comfort showed no significant difference between pantyhose of sectional pressure and normal pantyhose after 6 hours. Therefore, we assumed that comfortable sensation for pressure of clothes was impaired, comparing thigh to ankle and calf. Consequently, we conclude that psycho-physiological comfort for pantyhose of sectional pressure was influenced by pressure of clothes on the thigh.

The purpose of this study is to examine tightening pressure of the supporter and effect of the elastic property on muscle fatigue through electromyogram measurement. Wearing a magic tape style taping supporter, several healthy students carried out the flexion experiment of the elbow. At this time, the electromyogram of biceps brachii was measured, and MFCV(Muscle Fiber Conduction Velocity) by which, the muscle fatigue index was calculated. As a result, it became clear that the tightening pressure of the supporter which relieves fatigue was 21-28gf/cm2. The elastic property of the supporter which relieved muscle fatigue was almost 0.8kgf/cm as a tension stretch. Local clothes pressure seems to affect that the supporter with the moderate elastic property is fixed in the appropriate tightening pressure in muscle contraction and muscle blood flow. This was assumed to be the reason why muscle fatigue is reduced.

衣服による面積増加を考慮して皮膚と着衣間の多重放射を考慮した伝熱モデル式を提案した.このモデル式から,着衣が吸収する日射より生地を透過後に皮膚が吸収する日射の方が,日射吸収量が同一ならば人体の熱収支に大きく影響を及ぼすことを確認した.一重の衣服が部分的に身体を覆う場合に限るが,熱収支に基づき全身の着衣の日射吸収率,皮膚の日射吸収率を得る部位の重み係数を導いた.提案した解析モデルに基づき,色のみの異なる同一の生地で縫製された夏季の体操服を着用した場合の日射の影響を含む作用温度を計算した.淡色の体操服着用時には濃色の体操服着用時と比べて反射日射が大きくなるものの皮膚で吸収する日射も大きい.結果として,夏季の体操服の生地の色は作用温度にほとんど影響しないことが確認された.

The purpose of this study is to clarify the mechanism of smiles by measuring facial muscle activities and facial surface transformation. We made it possible that the strength of the smile was fixed the same by using the biofeedback technique. And facial muscle activities that caused a change on skin surface were measured by surface electromyography and the physiological mechanism of the smile was examined. It became clear that the muscle activities of the risorius and depressor labii inferioris had a significant effect on the formation of the smiling faces. We confirmed that a change of the eye that is the symbol of the smile depended on the compression of the skin by the picture analysis of the face. The internal and external relations to make the characteristics of the smile were explained.

本研究の目的は,速球とカーブ投球時の上肢と体幹の動きの違いについて明らかにすることであった。大学野球選手の手首と上腕,および背部に計測器を装着して,速球とカーブ投球時の関節運動の角速度を計測した。そして,最大角速度とその時刻,およびボールリリース時の角速度を抽出し,両投球間で比較した。その結果,ボールリリース時の前腕回内角速度と肩内旋角速度は速球の方が大きく,それに対して,最大角速度には差はなかった。前腕回内と肩内旋の最大角速度の時刻は,カーブにおいて速球より遅かった。対照的に体幹運動の角速度には,速球とカーブの間で差は見られなかった。これらの結果から,カーブ投球ではボールリリース時に前腕を相対的に回外位に保つため,両投球種間に差が生じること,そして,カーブ投球では,その前腕回外位を保ちやすくするために,肩内旋の角速度を抑える必要があると考えられた。

本学キャリアデザイン学科は短期大学基準協会により「地域総合科学科」の適格認定を受けており「学生が学びたい分野を自由に選んで学ぶことができる」ことを最も大きな特色としている。このため、開講されている科目のほとんどは選択科目の扱いとなるが、開講科目の一部には履修者数に制限を設けた科目があり、この科目の登録方法は義務事務の立場から苦慮している問題であった。システム導入以前、人数制限を設けた科目の履修を希望する学生は申請用紙による履修希望届けを提出し、制限人数以上の申請があった場合は抽選を行い、漏れた学生は履修権利を消失していた。本システムでは抽選に漏れた学生が履修権利をなくなることのないように設計し、その結果24名の学生が一度抽選に漏れた科目を履修することが可能となった。The Career Design Department at Niijima Junior College has been fully accredited by the Japan Association for College Accreditation.In this department students can choose any courses they hope to create his/her own curriculum. Almost all the courses offered are elective and some of them have a student number cap,thus making the web-based registration system more complicated. Under the old system,students had to submit registration forms,but those who were not selected could not register for other courses.Buto under the new web-based registration system even when students are not selected for certain courses, they still are eligible to register for other courses.

The purpose of this study was to clarify the influence of different strings on the dynamics of Japanese Bow, and to investigate the relationship between the measured mechanical data and the feeling of shooter. Four strings, aramid fiber "Kevlar", "Technora", polyester fiber "Vectran", and hemp string were used for the shooting experiment by nine subjects. At that time, feeling data through questionnaires were collected. The results were summarized as follows: (1) in the logarithmic decrement of bending and torsional oscillation after release, hemp string was highest in this four strings, (2) the difference of fibers didn't have influence on frequency of the oscillation, (3) in the energy transmission efficiency, Kevlar, Technora and Vectran were about 69%, hemp was 67.7%, (4) it is also found that the feeling of shooter was related to the measured mechanical data significantly.
