The purpose of his study was to investigate the speed and the accuracy of smash strokes of forehand in which conditions of various timing and hitting point in table tennis. Two male subjects participated in the world championships, and one of them participated in The 24th Soeul Olympic Games. The pictures of the action in hitting was recorded by a video cassette recorder while the reaction of three dimentional forces of forceplate and the wave of impact on the racket were synchronized on date recorder. The results obtained as followes. 1) The ball speed were between 17.6m sec. and 26.0m sec., and the accuracy were 69 % and 74 %. 2) Player with higher performance showed higher accuracy of smash strokes in front position trend to use his leg and arm more efficiently and sufficiently for make the distance the middle point of a circle of turning of trunk shorter. 3) Player with higher performance showed higher speed of smash strokes in middle position trend to use his leg and arm more efficiently and sufficiently for make the distance the middle point of a circle of turning of trunk longer. The results obtained were as follows. It was guessed that to control the distance the middle point of a circle of turning of trunk strongly influenced on the accuracy and the speed of ball smashed in front and middle position.

The measurement of angular velocity and angular acceleration in sports biomechanics is usually based on cinematography. But this method dose not have good accuracy. Authors previously developed angular velocity and angular acceleration measurement system, which used 12 accelerometers. But this system is tedious, beacause of mounting the large number of accelerometers.This paper proposes a measurement system using 9 accelerometers in sports, which accurately measures the rotation motion. This measurement system uses the extended Kalman filter. The accuracy of this method was examined by simulation and experiments.

The purpose of this study was to clarify the influence of dual motion in the performance of various sports. Motions that feature mutual dynamic operations are known as dual motion. Such motions may be divided into two types of movement which, although they may appear to share the same motions, may actually arise from quite different levels of mental concentration. For the purpose of this study, the body was taken as divided into two sections, M1 and M2. Each of these sections was the subject of mental concentration in producing the power of a movement (M(A)) and maintaining the "shape" of the movement (M(O)). Thus, [M1(A), M2(O)]and[M1(O), M2(A)]served to indicate these two types of movement (dual motion). Two experiments on dual motion were conducted. 1) The motion of twisting the upper half of the body to the left was performed on a turntable. 2) A kick with the instep was performed without a football. EMGs were recorded and movements were filmed during these experiments. The result obtained in this study may be summarized as follow : The divided motions[M1(A), M2(O)]and[M1(O), M2(A)]were demonstrated not only by the differing level of mental concentration but also by differing muscular activity in dual motion.

The brain injury during a sports activity are caused by the percussion which involves collision to the head. To construct a protective environment for such collisions are one of the most important factors for the biomechanical problems. In this investigation, we will experiment the collision of a human head of the testee by using Judo Tatami mats within the safety limits. We propose the mathematical model which can computer simulate the experiment model which will make the reappearance of the head collision phenomenon, and also the head collision phenomenon itself by using the measurements of the impact force and the acceleration from the experiment.
