平成8年3月22日よりFM文字多重放送が開始された。NHK-FM文字多重放送では、DARC(DATA RADIO CHANNEL)方式により文字や図形を副搬送波(76KHz)に多重し、放送している。(図1参照))FM多重放送の性質として、マルチパス下で音声信号が大きい場合ステレオ音声信号の(L-R)信号から多重信号への妨害が大きくなることが上げられる。また(L-R)信号が小さい時には、多重信号から(L-R)信号への妨害が検知されやすくなる。このためDARC方式では(L-R)信号の大きさに応じて、多重信号の振幅を変化させるディジタル変調方式としてL-MSK(Level Controlled Minimum Shift Keying)を用い、その妨害の軽減が図れている。今回、兵庫県内全FM局(26局)のエリアでFM文字多重放送のフィールド受信調査を行い、放送波中継における多重信号の特性劣化状況をまとめたので報告する。

We developed an AR system for drinks witch enables to measure crossmodal effects of vision and sound on taste and texture of drinks, and conducted psychophysical experiments. The results showed that appearance and sound affect taste and texture of drinks, suggesting that our system can control the taste of drinks.

We have developed a new analog signal processor IC for 2X DVD playback system. In this IC, frequency characteristics of equalizer can be adapted to playback rate by micro-processor. Tracking error signal can be generated by 3 methods-DPD (Differential Phase Ditection) method, 3 spot method and push-pull method. DPD block can remove offset caused by object lens shift, regardless of pit depth.

Tile Palette (TP) is proposed for mixing colors on a display. It is possible to set up the color space that matches each user's color image and knowledge in order to promote user's system understanding. TP can show quantity of color and mixing process visually by tile interface.

Our recordable LCD TVs are equipped with front loading Blu-ray disc drive. The front loading provides ease of use for beginners, but it increases a size of packing box of the TV. This paper proposes a new mounting arrangement of the disc drive that can reduce the size of packing and presents its effect.

When synthesizing images with fine objects like hair, we usually use sub-pixel drawing techniques to improve image qualities. In this study, we demonstrate that it is possible to make images look finer by properly adding Gaussian noise.

A new signal quality metric and novel margin allocation technique for a page based holographic memory system were developed. The margin allocation result for a 500GB capacity system is both realistic and achievable.

We present a simple technique for upscaling small-size pixel-arts. At first, an input image is upscaled on the basis of the saliency of each color, i.e. the global and local majority of colors. Next, noise on color boundaries is removed. Our method preserves every color in the original image, i.e. smoothes images only geometrically. The upscaling procedure is reversible, i.e. the original pixel-art is easily obtained from the upscaled output.

This paper describes our developing synchronization mechanism for multi device link service on the convergence of Broadcasting and Telecommunications. We designed the mechanism especially for a link service between a TV set and a portable device with a camera.

Practical field experiments for digital terrestrial television broadcasting were carried ARIB from November 1998 to March 1999. This paper describes the results of practical field experiments for stationary reception. The results show that required minimum field strength for 99% of correct reception location rate is about 57dBμV/m in the case of 64QAM with coding rate of 7/8.

We developed the Video On Demand System for the short programs (commercials, news films and other short programs) in the YOKOHAMA Broadcast Library, using TAO's (Telecommunications Advancement Organization of Japan experimental system in January 2001. We report about the storage, distribution and viewing part of the system.

In a Two-Cirular Loop Antenna with a reflecter it investigated about input impedance, radiation pattern, and power gain. It aims at development of the antenna to acquire the following features in a wide frequency band. 1, Input impedance adjustment can be easily taken. 2, It is high power gain. 3, When multiple arrangement is carried out, Horizontal radiation pattern becomes omnidirectional pattern.

Conventional show-through cancellation algorithm has a problem that show-through in an image area is excessively corrected, resulting in large error in a corrected result. In order to solve this problem, iterative algorithm is proposed and experimentally shown to be effective.

This short paper says regarding radiation patterns of 4L-polyloop antennas with finite reflector, more precisely than previous thesis. We have obtained the most important result from the cascaded hexagonal antenna in the case of a λ/5 long common line between the adjacent loops. The half-power beam width of vertical radiation patterns is 39゜-50゜ throughout the band width which is 27% of it's centre frequency according to the measured data in this work.

In this paper, we examine a method for representing facial expressions, in which any facial expression can be represented by linear combinations of orthogonal bases. We show the applicability of the AU(Action Unit) parameters for synthesizing the orthogonal bases.
